Is there a potc jjp owners thread for issues and problems ? Can't seem to find one. Anyone had problems with the cannon flap. (Gate) not raising or remaining raised when ball is up there ? Anyone have a fix or where to begin ? Cheers.

Here's an issues/troubleshooting forum:
And here are a couple posts I made in there about the cannon door. Basically just need to get it to where it will work by adjusting the arm/lever that connects to the coil and maybe also adding a washer to the rod the door hangs on. I also had to rest the roof over the door a bit higher because I realized it was blocking the door a bit.
I wasn't able to get it to go all the way up or all the way down without causing an issue. Door going all the way up meant it wasn't lowering enough to block the ball when it should. Door going all the way down meant it wouldn't raise high enough to let a ball through when it should. There was a spot in-between that worked well though with the door being down enough to block a ball and raising just enough to let a ball through when it was supposed to.

Even if you have that shot lit, and you get the ball into the upper playfield, you have to hit something else up there before the gate will actually open. If it's closing again while you are still up there, this is often because of a false switch hit on the main playfield. Any switch hits on the main playfield will close that gate. You can try going into switch test on the main playfield and see if you have any targets stuck closed, or bang on the playfield a bit to see if anything triggers from the vibration.

This could be the problem as I have one switch that constantly goes between open and closed and that's the chapter choosing switch in a very tough place to get at.

Easier if you pull it out from underneath, gap it properly, then put it back in.

exactly what I did as virtually impossible to see what doing from the top without ripping everything apart! Thanks for the help!

I recommend a full Cliffy set for POTC.

The only thing difficult about MAP is pulling the Pearl...and you will need to get used to that anyway, as it must be done to replace the chapter select rubbers (which wear often.)

The one game I wish I never sold Wife told me I should of listened to her lol.
Got BETA 7, now im trying to get this version on it and it says "The update data found on this USB/Thumb drive is an older version than currently installed. How to fix?

I tried to update using the instructions on the website. I was running 0.98 code so needed to do a full install of 0.992. It is locked up and asking me to press "enter" to continue. I've tried start button and enter button inside door but nothing happens. What do I need to do? Any insight into what went wrong? Photo attached.

Press the start button you would use to start a game
If that doesn’t work you may need a usb keyboard -
Or better yet - remove the usb drive and reboot the game.

Completely dead now. When I turn game back on this is what I get whether the USB is in or out. This picture is what I see.
I followed the instructions very carefully. I am starting over and creating a new USB. Working on a Mac and following the Mac-specific instructions. Thanks for your help. Let me know if there is anything else I should be doing.

USB stick 8GB to 16GB. If you got a bad download try the other mirror. ( USA or EU )

I tried a different USB stick with download from the other mirror. No matter whether I have a USB plugged in or whether I don't, I get a JJP image quickly followed by a boot up to this screen. Then when the time out happens, it goes to this second screen. I am at a loss of what to do next.

I think it's been in the works for the last 5 years. Hopefully Godfather get's completed too with its final wizard mode.
