Who's getting a Hasbro Proton Pack in the next week? I forgot all about it until they started shipping this week. There's going to be a lot of ghostbusters out there this Halloween!

    #2 1 year ago

I just looked it up. Pretty cool!

I ordered one! I got my hasbro proton gun a few weeks ago. Can't wait!

    #4 1 year ago

Any way to hook this up to my GB? Would be an awesome topper.

    That is surprisingly detailed.

    Is that from Star Trecks?

Assuming it’s way too late to buy one now?

Changed post: The "Hasbro pack" is the one that Phoebe repairs in the underground lab, Ghostbusters Afterlife.

Pity it isn't accurate, it doesn't match the hero pack from Afterlife either.

    That's not a Hasbro pack.

Correct, its a scratch built and entirely more accurate though I didn't go for the scratch and dent esthetic.

    #13 1 year ago

Picture of actual screen used hero pack from GB Afterlife, the Hasbro has some distinct differences which might be for licensing reasons.

Edit: Hasbro pack is the one Phoebe repairs in underground lab.

I got into prop building for awhile, has lights and sound as well.

This clearly isn't the Spengler pack they're replicating. It would have those dumb wires around the clippard valve.

They actually call it "Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack"

    Don't shoot the messenger.

It maybe the pack that the girl works on in the lab, I'm going to fire up the movie and check now.

Edit: Yup, the Hasbro pack matches the pack the girl repairs in the lab.

How many hours do you have into that? That’s insane.

Several weeks if not longer, I had to learn how to steam bend wood which was an interesting exercise.

It's actually "Pack 2.0" the first pack was a "junk pack" which whetted my appetite for something better.

I let my youngest son wear it to school for the Halloween contest, it was a slaughter.

Yeah, steam bending wood is definitely an art form.

Can’t wait to get mine! Been waiting almost 2 years for it!! Will be positioned right next to my Gb prem

It's times like this I wish I'd kept my GB premium. Who knew things would get so crazy?

I bought an extra pack. Maybe I can trade it towards something pinball related.

Here is one I had made about 15 years ago. It lights up and has a built in speaker to play all the sounds associated with the proton pack. One of modes is the Ghostbusters theme song. So you can walk around with it on your back playing the theme song from GB..... The only negative is the weight. It's a back breaker at over 40 pounds. I went with the "used often" look.

One thing I do not understand about ghostbusters fans is why they love the Afterlife movie so much. I really wanted to like it, but it was terrible. I didn't see the 2016 movie, but I feel like it almost couldn't be worse than Afterlife. GB1 and GB2 are two of my favorite movies. I've seen them hundreds of times. I couldn't watch Afterlife more than once. So bad.

    #28 1 year ago

2016 GB is way worse than Afterlife.

No comparison, 2016 crapped all over the franchise.

Afterlife is a sweet little movie and the best the franchise could expect considering events. I'd pick some nits with a casting choice or two (Wolfgang is terrible) but generally solid as far as sequels go.

Ghostbusters was an exceptional movie, any sequel is going to be a rough go. Bill Murray knew this after the second movie which is why he killed any further follow ups.

Got mine today after a 2 year wait! Pretty awesome

I don’t even consider it part of the franchise. I look at it as like Spaceballs is to Starwars. More parody than anything else. Kevin as a character stole that movie. The no lenses in the glasses scene killed me.

    #33 1 year ago

Mine came in today too. Pretty nice. Quite good for the price. I have another one coming in but I'm definitely going to sell it... Or maybe trade it for a topper if I can work out a deal.

Just got mine today. Looks really nice and I like how the wand can also turn it in and off.

Quick question, what are the extra bag of bolts for?
