Perhaps Stern could add code that turns it off once a game is started?

I have not yet seen this in person yet. But what if someone wants to use the functionality and does find the light annoying while playing. Many people do not like bright LEDs and sometimes change the colour or type to reduce a particular offending light from their playing perspective. It bothers some but not all. I don’t think placing something on the glass is an elegant solution longer term for those that are bothered by it as shaker motors, nudging will dislodge it.
I wouldn’t think that this is a major issue but a very simple code fix would address a minor usability issue that would increase the end user experience for some folks. Isn’t the goal of any product to provide a satisfactory end user experience for as many people as possible while maintaining profitability?
I am not trying to quantify the severity of the issue but if a minor issue like this can be easily/cheaply fixed then Stern should probably add it to a future feature matrix for assessment/implementation.
Quoted from MapleSyrup:Here is the problem with the internet in a nutshell.
You have ZERO experience with the issue in question, but you have formed a hardline opinion, and you are demanding a solution to a non existent problem.
I can tell you firsthand, that I have not ever… not even ONCE, noticed the QR reader during gameplay. The soft white light is approximately 1/20th the brightness of any one of the inserts in the game.
Also speaking from experience, I thought the functionality of Insider Connected would be underwhelming. Instead, I really enjoy it, and I want to add it to all of my eligible games.
As you were Pinside. You do you!
You also forgot the other problem with the internet. The one where people assume that because they don’t have a problem with something then nobody should and then find a way to attack the person instead to justify their opinion and invalidate the other persons opinion. I think the OP just asked a “how to” question. Doesn’t really matter how anyone feels about it. Just answer the question by proposing solutions to the actual question. As you were Pinside.
