    Quoted from DanQverymuch:

A thread I was just reading got me to wondering whether anyone has ever been severely injured or even died from moving a pinball machine.
The worst thing I ever heard of was some possibly hurt feelings when someone told a helper to "get the fuck out of the way!"
And it was a miracle one time when my Escalera just wouldn't squeeze in and the seller and I, both 50+, said F it and simply carried a Demo Man up his stairs, with no call to 911 after. And I was on the bottom! And nary a twinge in the ol' back! (Well, maybe he had trouble later but I never knew.)
But for some reason I'm morbidly curious today, any good (or bad) stories? Anyone ever have a pin land on top of them? Close calls?
(I searched and found no previous topic along these lines...)
Ironic how we risk life and limb fighting gravity to move these beasts, in order to be able to... battle gravity!

Hey...I tried asking nicely multiple times first!

Before I got my Escalera (probably the single best pinball related purchase I ever made), I would sometimes move smaller head-off pins down there stairs myself by sliding them down the stairs with me under guiding them down one at a time. No problem with something like an early Stern. Then I got stupid and tried it with a Judge Dredd (head on / folded) while home alone. Did I mention I am a whopping 5'6" 150 lb? I somehow made it without injury to myself or the pin, but that was a really bad idea and could have gone very badly. Once it was fully tipped, it was literally the point of no return and the last couple stairs where I couldn't get any leverage were extra ugly. I ordered the Escalera days later, after my wife got done yelling at me.

Got my head (slightly) crushed between a Metallica and a ceiling once. My buddy and I were moving it out of his basement with a very low clearance stairs "ceiling". I was on top pulling the dolly. He was under, pushing. I didn't realize how close my melon was to the ceiling. So as I'm yanking and he's shoving, there's my head. Couldn't really open my mouth to yell, so kind of grunted for him to go back down, LOL. Hurt a bit, left a bruise under my chin from the game and a small dent on the top of my head from the ceiling, but it was funny as hell!
