I searched and did not see a club for this game so I figured I would start one for the bally, Sega and Stern Harley Davidson pinball. I just picked up a very nice Sega Harley Davidson last week.

I got my Bally #HarleyDavidson in October. It needed some love. The PF was dirty, 1/3rd of the GI lights were out, rubbers were worn, and the alpha/numeric displays had broken loose from the backpanel door. It's now repaired, and I'm waiting for a package of LEDs to finish the project. Although it doesn't have an upper or lower playfield, it's surprisingly fast and fun to play. I'm looking for a replacement left spinner -- my has a set of bowling pins on it!
Does anyone know what activates the HELICOPTER FLASHER in the Bally #HarleyDavidson? Solenoid #24 on the left side under the chopper. Why would they put a flasher there if it does nothing?
Question to the HD owners:
I have a HD from a friend here. It works good but sometimes up to 3 balls get in the VUK under the traffic light. 2 balls get with some tries popped out. 3 balls in means to remove the glass and pull them out with a magnet stick. Is this a bug or a feature
Bought mine with less than 200 plays years ago, sold to a friend, bought it back. Still has less than 500 plays.
Didn’t know where else to post, but I’m a member of the rev1 club. Did a complete strip and shop with comets/titans. I took out the low rider and added in my 1997 Wide Glide which I paint matched.
Live to ride!
I've got a set of new plastics for stern harley. Think its all there but not guaranteed that it is. Make reasonable offer, i will list it on market so pinside gets their cut
Hey guys.....just joined the club with the Sega version (although Stern tags are all over this thing). I'm brand new to the game. Once in a while there are 2 balls in the shooter lane that will eject. Is this normal? Some type of mystery rider or something?
Thanks!

Check switch #16, the shooter lane switch.
Quoted from insight75:OK... thanks for that tip....
No, this is not normal. I have only experienced this on HD when I had problems with my shooter lane switch, which is why I mentioned that trying to be helpful.
I am assuming you meant multi-ball in which case lane switch didn't register and trough is just spitting them up regardless. If not multi-ball then you have trough issues.
Good luck.
No sarcasm at all. Haven’t had a chance to check it yet although i noticed its bent to 1 side so I am going to tweak it. I know they come up at the same time. It’s not one after the other. Happens after a new ball enters the shooter lane after the previous ball drains.

Hmm, the same time thing (one vuk strike gives two balls) makes me think they are stacking in your trough. Bunch of ways to fix that, but my best fix is tweaking the trough switches to give 'just' the right amount of resistance. That is unless your pin is leaning bad to the right.
I'd still tweak that shooter lane switch to rule that out. My stacking in the lane was one ball at a time, so might not help you then.
Cheers.
So I unplugged all connections by the trough. All switches appear to be working fine. Resistance seems to be ok. I bent the shooter lane switch so its nice and straight now. It happened only one time while playing the game a couple dozen times. Also think my Playfield angle is a little on the higher side so will bring it down a touch. We shall see.....thanks again.
Hello all, I just joined the club last month. The game has been at my brothers house, picking it up next week. Can someone tell me what scale the bikes are on the sling shots.
I believe its 1:18. They sell them at Marco so you can go there for reference. I believe the big bike in the back is 1:10.
I just joined the club last week. I am not even a bike fan, but this pin looks and sounds badass so I had to have it. I think my casual players will just simply enjoy it. If they want something difficult, they can step to right and play Fish Tales.
This game is the Stern 1st edition, and was stored a long time in a warehouse without the glass on, and apparently exposed to both moisture and dirt - basically caking a lot of the playfield in a thin layer of mud. I've started the cleaning process and removed the mylar. The cabinet needs a lot of work too. I've got a long road ahead to get it where I want it to be, but I am happiest tinkering on abandoned games to get them looking and playing good.
Question Harley owners. Does your game auto launch the ball between each ball in play? It seems the ball launch button on the cabinet has no purpose, but it checks out in switch test. I didn't see any references to an adjustment in the menu. Sometimes I would like to take a drink before launching the next ball, but the game shoots them automatically.
Nevermind. It was a flaky shooter lane switch.
Quoted from wayout440:Playfield reassembled. Still a lot of work to be done, especially on the cabinet, but happy with it so far.

Looks awesome! I just got finished cleaning a 2nd edition:

Fun game!
I just picked one up. I played a few games and have the general idea. I’m sure there’s more to it. Googled and couldn’t find a rule sheet, etc... online.
Does anybody have a link ?

About all I could find was the rule card:

Thanks for the reply.
Great suggestions on the card about “shoot for what’s flashing” and read the DMD
I added a few spot lamp holders from Pinball Life, just standard 555 bulbs for now. One behind the traffic light shining on the bike, the other two on the slings to light up the center of the playfield. Really helps for gameplay and to show off the art.
New to the site. I've owned my HD v2 for a few years now. Just moved to San Antonio, TX area and looking for someone to shop my machine. Redlight Multiball isn't functioning anymore.
Quoted from wayout440:I was bored and this game needed light by the flippers to play with house lights off. I set a new high score record immediately. [quoted image]
Hey is cointaker paying for that advertisement?

Haha! I think they already did by the amount of extra LEDs they sent me. I'm not usually one to put stickers on a game, and I usually remove any stickers I find. I figured this was in a somewhat discreet location, so why the heck not. They have great product and service, so that's where I get my LEDs from all the time.
When I started on Harley it was sitting in a dirty warehouse and the cab speaker was disintegrated. I replaced that with a random subwoofer I had jn my shop, but the game amp wouldn't drive it well
I added a Pyle speaker to line converter, and Diymore TPA3116DA 100W Mono Channel Digital Power Audio Amplifier Board. Also, an L-pad in the backbox to balance the levels between backbox and cab speakers. I'm powering the amp on an independent 1.2A supply (again, from the parts junk pile Altogether less than $60.
It works great, just need to clean up and mount everything.
Well guys I have joined the club and while working on getting this machine back to a good working example, I've noticed the magnet at the back of the playfield. Does anyone know when that comes into play? Mine has the fuse pulled due to the core being all tore up but I got a new core and was curious on when the magnet was supposed to function.

Depends on what advantage you pick at the start of each ball. Pick the city one and magnet will stop it and drop it down in the hole.
There are tons of tips for removing Mylar on this site. No matter what method you use, go slow. I mean glacial S L O W. I personally prefer the heat gun method. The messy part is removing the glue after removing the plastic, but that is what you want to happen to preserve the paint.
Please join Dave and George as they review and play a restored game that was recently sold.

Does anybody have a scan from a Sega HD playfield ?
i was asked to make some decals for destroyed print while removing mylar.
I would like to help but need a scan.
Sega pinball machine throwing the coil 19 error for the motorcycle up down motor. Has anyone ever found a solution that solves this intermittent issue? Everything else in the game is tiptop shape. If I rotate the motor just a hair it works for days and then the same error pops up again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks friends.

I messed with mine when it was doing the same thing forever, but it kept intermittently stopping. I finally just replaced the motor and that solved it. I was only able to find one motor at the time and it wasn't cheap. Good luck.
I need some help from the club. We just picked up a Sega HD. It has some extensive wear on the playfield exiting the Next City scoop.
Has anyone created a custom overlay decal or have a graphics file for that area? My idea was to fill on the ball groove and carefully decal over top
I'd need from the scoop to around Mt Rushmore.

Mine was pretty well gouged up around that scoop. I touched it up and installed a Cliffy on it. Looks great.
I too am having the coil 19 error, but the bike works fine. It works in test, it works in attract and in game play. Moves up and down smoothly. But I get that error almost every time I shoot the ball into the stop light!
Added 85 days ago:I figured out the issue in my case. The Fuse holder for the low power coils was bad and needed replaced. It was too weak to maintain connection.
