Quoted from jbovenzi:This is as good as any thread to ask this question. I am stripping some Bally SS playfields (Silverball Mania, Eight Ball) and wondering how to get the #44/47 light sockets off the underside.
Since they each have a blob of solder on them, the hex screw won't turn, so it's a @#$%^ to take them off.
Any hints short of putting a flame thrower on the field to melt the solder?
Thanks.
Cut the wire so that the whole socket can turn if needed.
