So I recently acquired a HGT on tour. Was pretty rough. Got most everything working including sound, however the sound card should play Sweet Georgia Brown when I press the credit button. It does not, it plays the generic game start sounds instead. Like the dips are set wrong.

I have S29 on and S30 off, which in the manual shows it should play "Tune" at Player up. Any ideas? Game plays fine and sounds are normal during game play. I've double and triple check the dip switches, is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

You sure you don't have the switches backwards? I would have guessed you had those two on and the rest off.

Switches look right per the manual. You did reset the game after changing them right?

Well I just got home from work and decided to take a look at it again. Turns out I had the start button wired to add a credit as you start a game and the coin up sound was overriding the start up sound. I've undone my change and it's working as it should. Sweet Georgia Brown. It's got some novelty appeal for now, but I can see me getting tired of that. I just had to get it working right first, then I'll decide what to do about freeplay once I know I have a good working baseline. For now I just wired a button inside the door and credits set to max 40.

Thanks all!

She's come a long way. I'm learning more every day, much of the info comes from awesome pinsiders! Thank you all for the wealth of knowledge and your willingness to share that knowledge with others.

Fixes so far:
re-pinned and re-built the rectifier board including ground mods
new plugs and headers on rectifier board
new plugs and headers on most of mpu connections
re-flowed all headers not already replaced
new caps on driver board and vids suggested mods to bullet proof
rebuilt the sound card 12v and all new caps
replaced a bunch of bad SCRs on lamp driver board
new flipper links
minor paint touch up on PF (not quite done)
Thanks to MadMike for getting me the missing plastic I needed!

Here's where I started and where I am one month and one day later:
