Ran into my first snag but relatively easy fix. The lamp holder holes aren’t at the right location. I checked with the old base thinking mine were off. Nope old and new bases are the same.
It didn’t need much so using kruzman clear kit, I first countersunk the hole bigger than the drill bit. Then carefully drilled hole with a slightly larger bit.
Then blow the hole out and use Rons glue. That was just enough to get them through.
