has anyone in Ontario Canada bought one of these babies?
Interested to know the shipping/duty/brokerage/tax on tax on tax fees?
Might have to drive to border and broker myself..

Quoted from Shannyman:A big thank you goes out to sky pilot. Just got my frontier hardtop it looks amazing. Can't wait to get it installed.
will you document the swap? I have one on the way and would love to see how yours goes...
at least please keep me posted on any snags you encounter...
so I am prepping my Frontier for the new hard top install...when I removed the pop bumpers I found that there are big ass nail heads above the playfield that hold the bumper coil brackets...
I don't know how I will be able to sand the playfield flat with those things there...and I can't picture pulling them out...?
Has anyone else done a Frontier yet? How did you deal with this issue?
TIA
Quoted from Cheddar:Those are finned shanks. Hit the from the bottom with a hammer and put new ones in after the hardtop install

Thanks!
more shit to order! Damn!
Quoted from Shannyman:Tominator that really looks good. Going to sand my playfield this weekend. Great job.
Check your hard top to make sure there are all 3 holes for the shank nails for the pop bumpers... my hard top only had 2 holes for the upper left pop bumper. I have emailed outside edge to let them know about this...easy fix with a drill but watch for it..
Also, be very careful dealing with the star roll over...you will need to Dremel the hole to fit it. There is a video of someone doing it on a comet...easy to do, just don'tfuck it up!
Quoted from Spraynard:Torn over whether to hardtop my frontier. This playfield is going to get dropped into a fully restored cabinet. I think it would look so good with a HT, but the normal PF isn’t all that bad by frontier standards (probably because of the Mylar). What do you all think? HT or leave it as is?
Depends on your restoration skills...that one still needs quite a bit of touching up...
If you want I have a very beat up cabinet to trade for your restored one, then my new Hard Top will have a nice new cab and yours will have a beat up one...win-win!
Quoted from grantopia:Awesome, great to know! Seems pretty doable and much less intimidating then depopulating the whole underside.
I had zero experience fixing pins, and my hard top turned out great. I sanded art on and around inserts, and just made the whole playfield smooth. Lots of art was still there when done, except on the inserts, and it was nice and level and smooth. Then, polish the inserts, spray a few light coats of clear, and you are good to go.
I cleared the shooter lane with a few coats too. It was pretty fast compared to what a full swap would be, as I left everything soldered, and dangling below the playfield. I had my shop vac going while I sanded so the mechs stayed clean underneath. Plays way better now!
Quoted from grantopia:Not to keep cluttering this thread, but I'm convinced! What clear did you use on the inserts and shooter lane if you happen to remember?
krylon auto clear in a can.
Quoted from 64bsstp:I've done two now. I position the hardtop on the playfield with the backing still on. Once I'm satisfied with it I put a board across the middle with clamps on each side to hold it. Then I peeled the backing as far as I could from the edge to the clamped board and cut the backing about 3" long and folded it against itself. Now the exposed part of the hardtop gets pressed onto the playfield and rubbed all over so it's solidly in place. Take the clamps and the board off, lift the end that still has the backing and grab that folded over portion and pull the rest of the backing off. Press the rest of the hardtop to the playfield. the position never moved.
This.
