Talked to Bruce. BK is in production. Once that is complete they will list them for sale. Outsidedge wants them on the shelves so they have no hold-up when ordered.
Quoted from Outsidedge:We sold lots of Hardtops at Expo this year! Mark Ritchie came over and purchased a Taxi Hardtop for his personal game... now that's cool!
Roger Sharpe came over to our booth with Steve Epstein to play Pharoah outfitted with a Hardtop and give us the thumbs up too.
Coming in the next 90 days... Black Knight, Firepower, Evel Keneivel and Frontier.
The next round will be announced after these 4 are released.
Thank you all!
Black Knight is on the verge of being available, Firepower is unknown as far as I know, EK is being tested (I think), and Frontier is on the page available to buy. Looks like we are almost ready to see what the next round is going to be. Very exciting.

Thanks Keith. I stopped pestering Bruce a couple of weeks ago and just figured I would have to be patient. I still have some work to do, a few more inserts to re-glue and some sanding and clearing. This will motivate me to get moving again!
Two points:
1) Just to be clear I am not part of the Outeredge/Pinballgifts organization. I do not know what titles they are preparing or want to do unless it's been announced in this thread somewhere. I'm just a pinball enthusiast who volunteered to send OuterEdge stripped playfields they were looking for (way back in the earlier posts) so they could create the Hardtops. Then when I received my playfields back with the prototype Hardtops I needed to reassemble the playfield looking for disparities such as misaligned inserts, extra holes, missing holes, etc.
2) Those of you who want a Hardtop done for a particular title should be prepared to someday, sometime maybe be asked to strip that playfield (top & bottom) and ship it to them. Then 2-3 months later put it back together. Somebody has to do that work to get the Hardtop released.

Don't give up hope. Just keep checking back for the next list.
I think they are still working on the details of the process so as that matures I would think new titles will come out more frequently.

I'd offer my bally strikes and spares if it meant it'd get done!
WILLIAMS BLACKOUT PLEASE.
I only read pages 1,2 and 17.
If something was covered I missed i apologize.
I did see Blackout made it to the possibilities list. I'd grab one of those. I think it's a good choice as they are abundant and all that black shows any wear easily. Mine has 3 different areas of wear before the previous owner mylared the entire field.

+1 for Blackout
Haven’t seen anyone mention Swords of Fury ... that PF is usually blown out on most I see. I’d buy one.

Keep up the great work!
Everyone keeps req'ing but you have to remember how these are made!
64bsstp reminds us, if you can help contribute a PF, please do!

Yeah! If I still had my checkpoint nos pf I would of shipped that off.
Speaking of that. Outeredge - do you need mint/good quality pf’s? With no paint missing. Or can you use photoshop etc to touch up any missing sections?

Great question!
The BK, EK and FP playfields I sent them were certainly not mint. They are working with Planetary so there's some original stuff available.
First run at a Hardtop installation. Very impressed. Hope to see more titles released soon. Future Spa, here I come!
Also, interested to see how it holds up on location. It seems very solid at this point.

Don`t you have to sand the whole thing down? Just the inserts?
Quoted from Axl:Don`t you have to sand the whole thing down? Just the inserts?
The inserts must be done. As long as the rest is smooth and scuffed up for adhesion you're good to go
Quoted from Slim64:The inserts must be done. As long as the rest is smooth and scuffed up for adhesion you're good to go
Wow, that makes it even easier!
Quoted from Axl:Don`t you have to sand the whole thing down? Just the inserts?
IF the inserts have lettering on them you'll want to sand that lettering off. The Hardtop will provide new lettering. It is clear over the inserts so you'll want your inserts looking clean and shiny. Otherwise, the surface just needs to be smooth, ie: without divots or bumps. And the surface should be "solid". No dirt, flaking ink or anything like that. Before you apply the Hardtop I would strip the top protective plastic off and lay it on your playfield to see what shows thru. On BK I did a bit of extra sanding around the outlane switches to remove the old graphics because there's a small clear area around the switch opening so there was the possibility of the new graphics not aligning or covering the old graphics. When I did the EK Hardtop the sander was working so well I just took the whole thing to bare wood. At first, you break out in a cold sweat and your stomach tightens up but then it's kinda exciting. And the end result is well worth it.
Quoted from RustyLizard:I have an NOS jungle Lord set. That would be cool to see them make.
Be interested in selling them ?

I have a spare used blackout playfield with wear that I would gladly lend out.
Man, 14 new posts since I last checked this thread yesterday. I was REALLLLLLY excited for a little while. I'm sure OP is gearing up for TPF and maybe even on the road already. I know I probably seem like a pest in this thread, but at Texas I'll be stopping by, saying hi and thanks for this products, and that I'm really looking forward to High Speed.

Some things in the near future will make you happy some things will not. I do not believe outsidedge will be in Texas this year. They will be in Allentown with Hardtops to sell and display.

I've decided to put my HS back together (as of a week ago) so it can go on route and earn it's Hardtop. That way I'm also not sitting here biting my nails waiting for the big announcement. HS is too good of a game to not be getting played. I know new products don't happen with a snap of my fingers, so I'm going to have some fun while waiting.

Sweet, can not wait to check these out in person. They haven't made one yet for any games I need, but hopeful for future! EK should be my first.
Just in process of finishing clear job on 3rd vinyl overlay I have on machines & can't wait to be able to do a Hardtop instead of always doing overlays.
Quoted from mwiz:skypilot So no new hardtops will be on display at the Ohio Show?
I will be displaying one at a booth for Bruce. I am also bringing The Pharoah to the show. It is going to be in the tourney
I believe and leaving with a new owner.
Quoted from Drickey86:Be interested in selling them ?
My current JL is a 7.5/10. If I found a 9.5 game to buy I would sell the playfields. I paid $600 for the set years ago and the upper isn't perfect.
Quoted from eabundy:Any discount on new hard tops if you have a machine at the show with one installed?
Sorry Ed ,
They don't market that way as of yet.

They are a great value as priced. Well worth the money!
