I like the idea. Not sure if the poll can be altered at this point.

Ordered a Comet today. Can't wait to do the install. Hopefully I don't screw things up too much. Just got almost everything working smoothly, not sure why I bothered since I'll be taking it apart in a few weeks.
Quoted from Sarge:Time for my monthly HIGH SPEED Bump!
Agreed! Glad Black Knight is done..
Quoted from Spraynard:Just picked up a beat Flash Gordon. Now I wait for a hardtop!
Hey Spraynard, I think you mistakenly took my machine home - my playfield looks identical to yours LOL

I think a lot of Flash Gordons look like that! Hard top to the rescue!!!
Quoted from JodyG:Its a shame they have no interest in even scanning the NOS playfield I offered...even if they aren't going to produce it any time soon. Seems short sighted?
Or they just don’t need the scan

What game?

Of course we aren't privy to your conversations with Outside Edge but I think it might have to do something with licensing agreements and breach of contract...
Quoted from VDrums2112:Since everyone's bumping games, add...
Mata Hari
to the bump list!

bumpiddy bump bump bump!
Quoted from Outsidedge:Coming in the next 90 days... Black Knight, Firepower, Evel Keneivel and Frontier.
Since this was said 4 months ago, Frontier has been released and Black Knight looks to be nearing release,
Fingers crossed that Firepower will be available in the coming months as I just picked up a FP that *really* needs one of these!

More than anything I think Outeredge is just busy. And they do a lot more than just Hardtops. Recently there were also new backglasses for Firepower and there's comments from Outeredge on some of the difficulties they had doing those - it ain't easy. Particularly when the original parts were so variable or poorly done. I volunteered the playfields to do BK, EK and FP last August. At that time Outeredge expected to have the prototype hardtops in October. The BK and EK hardtops showed up Dec 21st! Merry Christmas! BK you've seen, EK is done (pic below). I have not seen the FP hardtop. I had a scan of a NOS FP playfield that I sent with the sample playfield. I imagine it helps but there's still a big process. It just takes time. I was really hoping to have the hardtop on my FP for the PATZ show in April.....mmmm, maybe? I'm hopeful! I can say installation is not difficult. Far and away most of the time was spent leveling inserts (but then my playfields were pretty bad). You really only need to sand the playfield to get it smooth. Going all the way to whitewood isn't technically necessary but kinda fun once you get started.
EK Hardtop. The "EK" caps are original and look pretty shabby now. My pop bumper caps were so faded I opted to just grab some nice looking new ones for the picture. The plastics are a new CPR set.

I can help with EK caps: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/bumper-caps-for-evel-knievel
Votes for nine ball and Supersonic.
How much time is saved from doing a full of swap for those who have installed one?

Not short sided,Just not needed. Relax go play some pinball.

Depending on what you have to do to level your inserts it's similiar to a thorough shop out. Strip the top of your playfield. You can leave the bottom hardware alone. Sand it smooth. Eliminate screw divots and the like. Apply Hardtop. Reinstall playfield parts. Probably saves 3/4 of the time.

You can save yourself some time later by leveling your inserts, rebuilding flippers, pop bumpers etc now.

Heavy Metal Meltdown would be fantastic !!!!! Every example I see out there has a super rough playfield.

Would love to see some of these later Ballys get some love!
Quoted from PinballNZ:A suggestion for future production.
The top playfield for Bally Elektra would be nice. They tend to wear as opposed to the main playfield which is covered by plexiglass.
I have to mention Gottlieb Spirit again also - I am sure there would be many people who would be keen including me.
I second the upper and lower playfields for Elektra.
Quoted from Clnilsen:Would love to see some of these later Ballys get some love!
You'll probably have better luck pitching Mirco.
Quoted from metalkatt:I second the upper and lower playfields for Elektra
I could even go for a main because mine has damage, such a cool game with history ..
I feel as though this thread is getting side tracked from its real purpose and point, which is to deliver an upper and lower Flash Gordon Hardtop!

Any chance Gorgar could be done? CPR has had Gorgar up on the pipeline list for quite a while. It may be that many don't want to pay the reproduction PF price for Gorgar. The price for hardtop might put it as a more desirable alternative for Gorgar owners who are worried about pricing themselves out of the market on a restore.
Here is my personal project, very hardtop-like. I have been at this for just over a year, all editing in the evenings. Getting all the inserts lined up is a huge task of its own. It is basically an overlay material with the printing underneath. Mylar is .003"-.004" typically, where this is .008". Hardtops are about .030" from what I recall. This is my first full-up test print, I have to fix those bonus inserts and a few other things.

I do not think that they will do this because CPR is making them.
Quoted from desertT1:Happy Monday.
HAHAHHAAHH. I get so excited when I see an new post...and then it isn't an announcement
