Tough day.... Hank and his wife Billye are two of the most genuine, caring people I have ever met.
Back in the early 2000s, I worked for the BG Clubs in Milwaukee. Hank and Billye started the Chasing the Dream foundation, and as part of that, kids would write applications/letters about their dreams and how they could use assistance. This would be for a variety of things- Equipment for sports, a laptop for writing/journalism, etc.
One of my roles was to assist kids in their writing (Primarily, VERY poor children, ages 8-15) to "Chase their Dream".
One of the coolest moments for all of these children (and myself, personally) was getting to have a private lunch at Miller Park with Hank and Billye. Both of them seemed incredibly/genuinely proud of these kids. They were very personable, and not a single part of this lunch was for media/press. They were two of the most genuine people I have met.
As part of this project, Billye would meet with a few of us on a regular basis, to talk about things that were going well, things that could use improvement, etc. At all times, she always made us feel like we were the ones doing them the favor.
RIP Hank, you will never be forgotten.
