Quoted from SLAMT1LT:

Unfortunately, you're not going to get much of a game here because Halloween isn't much of a movie. It's a masterpiece of movie-making for sure, but there isn't a lot in the movie that translates well to a fast-paced pinball experience.
An what Spooky does offer will soon get repetitive and boring after a few weeks of play.
I will be very surprised if this game remains in anyone's collection beyond 2 months. Which is good news for those that didn't get one....they can grab a bargain when the market place is flooded with them.

What a downer, now I'm bummed

Quoted from Jenniebear:

Seeing the CE in person does make me a little bummed that I chose to get the BSE instead.

Wait til you see the BSE! I chose BSE mainly because of the powder and I didnt need a topper.

#337 2 years ago

My powder on ACNC is doing the same thing. That's why I went with the BSE because didnt have the vein powder.

#339 2 years ago
Quoted from dnapac:

The blue/purple? That’s bizarre.

No the grey vein powder.

Just unboxed my halloween and I can't say enough good things about this amazing company . They knew my wife just passed away in October and they sent something special to me and my daughter inside the coinbox for Christmas. Thank you spooky so much. You definitely made mine and my 4 year old daughters Christmas. And this game is AMAZING.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Oh man. Really sorry to hear this.
Hope you and your daughter have the best Christmas possible.
And very cool of Spooky to send a little extra, to let you know people are thinking about you.

Quoted from John-Floyd:

In all fairness, spooky did say they were shipping out right after the holiday break. The guy is just looking for something that is owed to him and you all are all on him like a pack of rabid dogs....damn... tough crowd in this thread.

Game #200 arrived today. Where is the manual? Don't see one online either., Wanted to get into the adjustments menu..cant find it. Only issue so far..ball stuck in scoop behind upper playfield drop Target ..would kick out..hit drop Target..back in..endless , had to turn off to fix.

Quoted from McIntyre905:

I've noticed I got some wear in the powder coat on the lockdown bar

This is why I dont like the "vein" powder coat. My ACNC has rubbed off where you touch it to play.

#3769 2 years ago
Quoted from John_C:

Wear on the powder coating is like a badge of honor. It means you played the freakin thing.

Maybe they will start selling them pre worn like they do with relic guitars.

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Wow. I am 481 and nothing. Starting to sour right now with Spooky. Another person who was 482 got their notice. This is crap.
Regardless where you ordered what’s the point of having having numbers if they are NOT going to go in order. Probably last time I buy from them and this is my first pin from them.

I didnt think you bought from Spooky directly, so it may not be them giving you problems.

My ACNC has the same type of powder as Halloween, and its rubbing off also. I think most of the smooth powder holds up longer then the vein powder.

#6644 1 year ago

Assuming not since the CEs are still on the line for both titles. I think there are about 300 more HWN CE’s to be built before BSE hits the line

But should he have received an email with his number? Seems strange to have not heard anything since he paid his downpayment.
Not sure if SE's were different though.

Here’s something that’s unbelievable (and silly) about Halloween. How does Michael know how to drive a car if he’s been in an asylum since he was 6 years old?

#7533 1 year ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

Bah it had gone away for a while but now getting it a bunch again where when a new ball starts and the drop targets pop back up on reset, I randomly am getting free successful skill shots and earning lot of free points. At first it was happening alot and thought it had to do with pressing start early when the match screen was up since it seemed to often cause it and then I was letting the machine sit and get to game over, and had a good amount of time where this stopped happening. Updated last night and almost every other game would have it happen once or twice.
It's something with the drop target when its coming up cause it only happens if the target has to pop up during reset and it will sometimes give a free skillshot hit right as it pops up.

I would assume it thinks one of the drops fell, not having the game I'm not sure how the clear targets are recognized. But I thought someone said there is something dark to block the opto, I would check there first.

#7545 1 year ago
Quoted from metallik:

Nothing they said is incorrect. Ball times can be very long, the scoops don't eject but instead return to the inlanes, and the targets block shots, similar to Vector. If that's not their cup of tea, so be it. 9865 is entitled to their opinion without getting flagged.

Yeah, I feel he doesnt like it. Hes not bashing it just to bash it. I'm not sure why this would be flagged. When someone gives a bad rating and you can tell they never played it, then that's flag worthy. Anyway, my $.02

#7648 1 year ago
Quoted from K9Marshal:

Strange because I have had many of my games powder coated and never once had those issues. Is it just that particular powder choice/finish or an issue with whoever did the job?

I think it's that "veiny" texture that doesnt hold up. I have not seen a smooth powder ware off like that.

I received the butter/no butter email a little over a week ago. How long from that email til everyone got the invoice to be paid?

#8225 1 year ago
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

Interesting. I thought they said it would be the same powder as Rick and Morty standard and Alice Cooper standard. Matte black will look slick, though.

I didnt think those 2 pins had a standard model. You could upgrade any part of the game you wanted. The HW/UM was the first 3 model pin for Spooky

#8441 1 year ago
Quoted from dsmoke1986:

Someone from Spooky messaged me, they are going to send the steak knife separately. I guess they are doing that on later runs, I got #930.
This game played perfectly right out of the box, what a great pin!!! Wow, amazing, love the layout and gameplay...Just awesome; need to dig in and learn all the modes, so much fun...Feels amazing too, super tight build quality.

Does it have the bracket for the knife? If so could you take a quick pic of it?

#8456 1 year ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

Yea this kind of sounds like what is happening, like it's going up and just falls down right away, popping back up quick then. Yea I guess it might need better looking at, never taken apart a drop bank like this so gonna be a first. Also would the idea of adjusting the height of the targets help?

I bet putting in a new drop target would solve this. I've had a few games where the targets shelf looked good but would drop without being hit. I put a new one in and it worked as it should. Just an idea.

Also if they are flush with the playfield, you should not have to raise them.

#8513 1 year ago

#8534 1 year ago
Quoted from Betelgeuse:

I'm hoping you'll post some pictures so I can see what I just bought before I get mine. It's a little concerning to me that we still haven't seen pictures of a BSE. I'm preparing to expect something unexpected.

Have you seen the pics on spooky's page or nothing at all yet?

#8612 1 year ago
Quoted from TonLoc777:

I just purchased CE #46 from a friend and currently experiencing some issues. Has anyone else had smoke coming out of the middle playfield during sanitarium multi ball? The game just recently had the pinotaur board replaced and worked great for 3 games. Upon inspection I can see that there are some dark burn marks on the board. The game fires up but stays in the calibrating switches phase. You def cannot start a game, but all the high scores and normal spooky ads are scrolling on the screen as usual. This will be the 3rd time the board has fried from what I understand from the previous owner. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue to re occur? It looks like it is running older code currently. Would this cause that sort of issue? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It almost looks bumpy like the CE

#8712 1 year ago
Quoted from Deez:

I feel for you man. It's totally worth it. Once I told my distributor it was butter he told me there'd be a delay. I'd have to confirm but I believe it was a month after paying the invoice to receive it.

I got my butter/no butter email almost a month ago. Still no invoice and I went no butter

#8716 1 year ago
Quoted from Roostking:

Yea I'm somewhat concerned. I thought all CEs were to be built before BSEs and thats not the case, which makes me wonder how bad the problem is with getting the butter cabs?
Edit. I didnt realize you were non butter, thats even more worrisome. What CE are you? Im 920. If you are non butter, I wonder if the powder coating is the holdup, since BSEs use different powder coating?

I'm BSE so I'm assuming some of the butter CE's are now being finished up.

I need some help dialing in my upper playfield. I watched the video and cant really adjust anything he mentions in it.
The pretzel shot can only really be done once, it seems pretty sluggish coming from under the stairs. And the shot up the stairs is difficult, but not impossible.
Any tips on what I need to do? Visually that playfield looks to be slanted to the left, but the screw mentioned only backed out of the wood and didn't raise it.

#9363 1 year ago
Quoted from Beechwood:Mine must be dialed in because I finally got the pretzel when I shot the right spinner and accidently kept my flipper up. Oh what a feeling!

My thought was you could hit it over and over. but if it's meant to be hit 1 at a time, mine might be dialed in also.

#9367 1 year ago
Quoted from Pinash:

When mine was dialed in perfect, the ball would barely dribble back on to the tip of the flipper. Then I’d have to flail once our twice to get control, and then hit the loop and again.
I’ve never had it be a repeatable shot though.

Ok, thanks. I was trying to do something I didnt need to. I feel mine is the same.

#9386 1 year ago

What do the lights on the pumpkins face indicate? I thought I remember awhile back spooky mentioned what they were for but can't remember.

#9395 1 year ago
Quoted from BWT67:

Finally got around to setting up my butter CE #170 this weekend. So far no hiccups or adjustments needed, hopefully it stays that way.
As suspected, had to remove the topper given the low ceilings in the basement, but gave it a new home atop the modular rig.
Cannot wait to see what the code has to offer down the road. I hit the Don't Fear the Reaper multi-ball this afternoon, and couldn't be a happier camper.

#9536 1 year ago

Looks like just another couple weeks til they are done. Great job Spooky!!

#9636 1 year ago

I just cant progress through this game. I have been trying to level for awhile now and still just getting drains when the ball comes back from the center ramp, comes back from the right orbit and the pretzel shot just never happens. I dont know what else to try here. Also the air balls from hitting the stand ups next to the ramp are crazy.

#9643 1 year ago
Quoted from Geeterman1:

Sounds like the airballs come when he’s hitting the center targets. That’s normal which is why they have the clear plastic guard above there.

Air balls are from the stand ups, so it hits and flys over the plastic.

#9645 1 year ago

Also, what causes a drop target to only fall halfway down?

Quoted from guitarded:

Try bringing your flipper rubbers up a bit. If they ride down too far they can impart wicked backspin and bringing them up a bit will reduce this.

I will try this, thanks.

#9662 1 year ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

I fear for that sign getting steam rolled

Yeah, it wouldn't last long in my game. 2 or 3 times a game I have a ball rolling down the grass area.

#9665 1 year ago
Quoted from JesseJames23:

Really? Not sure I’ve had any on mine. I’ve had more end up on the knife than anything.

Yeah, I have balls fly right past the Michael standing at the hedge and land in the ramp return. I feel like when my plastic over the drops breaks, I'm going to extend it to cover the stand ups also.

#9675 1 year ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

Theres a magnet in this game?

Yes, the end of the balcony.

#9795 1 year ago
Quoted from TheClownpuncher:

Ok pin techs, anyone have a permanent fix for this? I've unscrewed it and re-aligned it to where it's supposed to be in front of the post rubber 3 times now and it keeps popping back. Getting a little frustrating.[quoted image]

What is the correct position? I assume you are talking about the metal lane guide.

#9839 1 year ago

This game may be impossible. What do you need to do to get a free ball besides blood drops?
And what are you shooting for in Jack o lantern mb?
In my case I hope they have settings to make the modes a bit easier in the next code update. That still wont stop every ball from going sdtm though.
I know, play better.

#9847 1 year ago
Quoted from guitarded:

Beat 2 Modes. EB will light at the Scoop.

No wonder I never got that. Lol

#9880 1 year ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

You want to be able to stack modes, it really helps scoring with some of the modes if you can combine them.

I agree stacking is fine, but maybe the light show could not only happen when your able to look at the playfield. Seems like everytime I start a mode or waiting for the lifters, I take a quick look to see where I want to shoot but the lights are just flashing randomly. Sometimes even when a ball drains I notice my ball save is lit, but most of the time it's just random playfield lights dancing around. Just seems to need a little more direct lighting at certain times. Maybe it's just me or maybe they have this all nailed out in the next code.

#9889 1 year ago

I just figured out my issue. I could not control the ball and each game was about 2 min long. I put a set of what I think are super bands on the flippers and what a difference! I completed 4 modes, house and hedge mb in my first game and doubled my GC score. The PL rubbers had the ball bouncing off the flippers and right down the middle.

After everyones posts, I guess I had pretty low expectations. I liked the new Halloween a lot more then the last one.

#10301 1 year ago
Quoted from Jamieryan71:

Put some precision flippers in my game[quoted image]

Is it hard to hit the bottom hedge or Judith shot with the flippers up that high?

#10307 1 year ago
Quoted from Jamieryan71:

I've always had a problem with the bottom hedge and Judith, but I think I just need more practice. The flippers are aligned with the inlane, but maybe I could try lowering them to see if it helps make the shots easier. I can't remember what position they were in with the original flippers, but I never changed the position on those.
I'll have to play some more tonight to see if it's easier or harder than before.

I think the tip of the flipper should be lined up with the hole in the playfield.

#10376 1 year ago
Quoted from JuanSolo:

Any tips to make the drop targets more sensitive? Very frequently I'll hit them head on and the ball will bounce off like it hit a brick wall, after about 3-5 direct hits the target will drop.
The one in the upper house playfield will get stuck permanently up until I take the glass out and push the target with my hand to drop it. ‍♂️

What does the inside of the drops cutout look like? Is the wood smooth? Mine was not and not letting the drops fall.

The spring fix did not help me.

#10383 1 year ago
Quoted from ScoobaDoo:

Hello guys….just purchased a CE from a private seller. We love this game!! A couple of rubber rings seemed to be worn out so on the lower playfield. I’m in the process of shopping those out. I’ve ordered according to Spooky’s chart but I’m confused on what sizes go where. Is there anyway you can guide me? Where does the 2 1/2 and 2 inch rings go? I’ve included a pic with arrows. Sorry if this is petty. I’m not an expert in this at all!!
[quoted image]

If you look closely, the ones you remove should have a size on them. Just replace with the same

#10401 1 year ago

What is everyones house playfield leveled at? If I get the main playfield level, the upper ones are leaning way to the left. I tried the level screw in that playfield but it only backs the screw out, it doesnt raise that side.

Quoted from Jakers:

I went through this same situation when I first got mine. I went back and fourth with spooky service but ultimately ended up figuring out a fix on my own. Even when my main playfield was level, the 3rd playfield was leaning hard to the left, causing the ball to lose almost all of its momentum and trickle out of the playfield.
I ended up putting a hex post under the left side (between the 2 ramps) to lift just the left side up. The hex post is circled in red. I put a black post rubber around it to make it disappear a bit.
After doing this, my upper playfield plays great.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Thanks for this. Mine is doing the exact same thing. How long of a hex post did you put there?

#10410 1 year ago
Quoted from Jakers:

I'm pretty positive I used a 1 inch hex spacer. You might as well order a few different sizes to see what works best for your game.
https://www.pinballlife.com/metal-hex-spacers-1-1-78-6-32-thread-femalefemale.html

I had an extra star post, so I put it in that area. It plays a lot better but now I have 2 other possible issues.

1. When I made the shot across the bridge, the magnet did not catch the ball the first 2 times. It did on the 3rd so I will keep an eye on it.

2. My flipper on that playfield was always set just above the set up hole, but now I can barely make that ramp shot. I think I need to align the flipper with the hole. How do I adjust that flipper?

#10425 1 year ago
Quoted from Angell1028:

I tried that and it's still not working. Once and a while it will shoot the ball no problem but 99% of the time I have to use the shooter rod myself to do it manually. And it's extremely frustrating during a multiball because none of them shoot out to the playfield. They just all build up in the shooter lane.

I would check the switch in the shooter lane.

Here's a video of it trying to reset multiple times and as I said it's not just trying to reset sometimes it doesn't pop up again when it should?

I think it pops back up because it is red and your not supposed to hit it til you hit enough spinners. Once you complete spinners it changes to purple.

Update, my game is still down. Received a package from Spooky today but only recieved 1 of the 3 items. This has happened multiple times now with them. Seems like they could save on shipping and send everything at once, or possibly someone is not filling orders correctly.
I am trying to not let this cause a bad taste for Spooky but this and the state of the code we recieved is just frustrating to say the least.
In all honesty though I have only played 1 ball on the new code. So maybe it's not as bad as I read.
Here's to hoping the new board gets replaced without a hitch.

Quoted from hammerhorror:

I'm at my wits end with the far right drop target. It only goes down about 80% of the way, requiring me to hit it twice with the ball to get it to drop all the way down. I've replaced the spring with a new 5003 spring from Pinball Life, I've pulled more coils of the spring around the metal tab to tighten it up (I started with 1 coil, then increased the number in 1 coil increments all the way up to 10 coils). I cut the spring shorter and I loosened another spring to see if it needed to be loosened rather than tightened. None of this worked.
All of the drop targets reset themselves just fine. No problems with that.
Is there anything else I can try? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Mine had the slightest jagged wood in the drop opening. Check that it's not rubbing on the targets. Once I removed that my targets fell more consistently.

My pretzel does not work well, in 4 months I may have hit both spinners with 1 shot 3 times. Most of the time it hits the spinner and bounces around. And when I do hit the first spinner square, the ball almost stops at the flipper. It has no momentum to go to the 2nd spinner.

#13180 1 year ago
Quoted from Roostking:

What is your game angled at? When I first set mine up, i thought the feet were supposed to be all the way up into the legs and the butt pretzel worked perfectly. Then i read its supposed to be set at 6.5, so i went that route and it screwed up the pretzel. Im not that great of player, and lowering it back down like I did initially got the pretzel back. I dont feel the game is slowed down at all, and again, im not the greatest at playing, so that works for me.

It's close to 6.5, I might try to lower it and see if it helps it.

Quoted from PanzerKraken:

#13808 1 year ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

From the previous stream they said you get points for hitting them. They aren't indicators as they go away once you hit them. That in the future they will also count to trigger or be part of the upcoming new mode.
So trying to figure out how many points these shots are worth cause I don't see an indicator of scoring anything from the times I hit it. If it's adding points, I don't know cause I can't see it. Typically they are in the bush shots so when you hit them they play the hedge videos, so you see no scoring and can't easily count as no score is shown during these video cut ins
During Judith MB there is no unique assets either so do we even get a call out for the Judith jackpots in the game or is it just scoring silently in the back ground?
They added lot of new scoring in 1.10, but from what I can tell there is no real indicators of when you hit these new target/scorings?

I would assume that the indicators will be coming when that mode is complete.

#13865 12 months ago

You do not have to remove the upper playfields but you do have to gain access to and remove a couple of screws that will then allow you to lift the front of each playfield up about an inch or so. This will give you better access to those two mounting posts under the Sanitarium playfield.
I will have a newly designed ball deflector guard available within a week or so to replace that poorly-designed and weak OEM shield. New hardware and detailed instructions on how to swap out that shield will be provided.[quoted image][quoted image]

Maybe if you start a pumpkin mode then house can't start. Meaning the center ramp doesn't count towards house if you are in a mode. Like Stranger Things if you are in a demodog mode.

#14211 11 months ago
Quoted from PanzerKraken:

You want to start a MB though when you got a mode going, it's the best way to score, and tossing on double scoring via the MB ball hold, stacking them is very important.

Just not very fun

#14222 11 months ago
Quoted from rotordave:

I am also a proponent of this.
What do people think about this scenario:
- House and Sanatarium are only “startable” while no modes are running … ie in general play. When House is qualified (ie the drop target is flashing and ready to be hit for the balcony shot) you have 10-20 seconds to get back to the house to complete those two shots (during those 10-20 seconds you can’t start a pumpkin mode - you have to get to the house, with appropriate call-outs and light show to create “hurry up!”) If you fail to drop the target and shoot the balcony … back to general play.
- while you’re playing a pumpkin mode, you can bring in the other two multiballs - hedge and Judith. But House and Sanatarium are locked out during modes.
How’s that scenario sound ?

#15166 9 months ago
Quoted from AndHart120:Anyone hit the bridge shot and have it miss the magnet for some reason? I’ve had this happen quite a bit recently and I can’t figure out why. The drop ramp seems to be up all the way which was the only thing I could figure could cause the strength of the magnet to not be enough to stop the ball. This usually happens with a hard straight hit to the ramp so maybe it has too much speed and flies past it. I put a drop of oil on the hinge just in case (the kind PBL sells for spinners). The only other thing I could think of was the spring on top might need to be tighter unless someone else has another suggestion.

I have had this happen also since the last update. I would say it doesn't get caught by the magnet 3 out of 5 shots.

I had a couple of flasher bulbs develop problems (flickering, LEDs out) so I thought I'd take the time to upgrade.
I found some LED bulbs that were "domed" with frosted plastic lens covers. The cover has the effect of reducing glare and softly dispersing the light coming from the nine SMD LEDs in the bulb. The new bulbs are much more aesthetically pleasing since you don't see the SMD LEDs in the bulb.
I replaced the four flasher bulbs on the main playfield, which helped light up the main playfield a little bit. I also replaced the four "corn-cob" flasher bulbs on the back wall, changing one of the red bulbs for an amber bulb to give some additional color. The white bulbs add some much-needed light to the attic.

Quoted from Jamieryan71:

Thanks, I'll reach out to him

I shouldn't have to be asking here, but unfortunately I do.
I've been trying to get Spooky to send me an adapter for over 2 months, and they've just sent me the wrong cables twice. The LED cable for RGB 1 is at least 13" long, and they send me 8" cables, and the cables wouldn't work on the LED strip side anyways, I think the cable is permanently attached to the strip. After telling them this again, they just reply with "put the retention clip on the inside".
I think they just glance at my emails and quickly reply, not fully reading it or looking at the pictures I send. I've been dealing with this for over 9 months now, and it's happened numerous times, with various parts, while trying to figure out why my game's been crashing since last October. Probably could have solved the crashing problem 6 months ago if they consistently worked with me troubleshooting the problem, instead of me having to always hound them and having different parts thrown at me.
Very frustrating to spend $10,000 and not be able to play the game for 9+ months.

I had to carve away at my connector ends and force them into the new board fittings. There was another option of splicing the wire ends they sent me with the ones on the game, but didn't want to do that. Either are not ideal fixes for the price of this, but needed to be done to get them to work.

#15417 8 months ago
Quoted from Jamieryan71:

That was the solution they gave me this morning, cut off pieces of the connector, or splice the wires. They should just be making an adapter and sending it out with the new boards.
Fortunately, Vimtoman reached out and is going to be sending me an adaptor.
Thanks

That's good and way better. I had to hot glue my connections in because any movement from the shaker would knock out my lights completely.

To test you can also temporarily give the SFX a boost in the standard settings. Admittedly, I thought I lost my lifter SFX on one of my "code beast" machines.

I’m having issues with Servo 2 as well

I lost a servo also with this update. Only have 1 active since I lost 1 last update.

Quoted from djsolzs:

Coincidental - maybe - had zero issues playing this past weekend. Then after this update - servo 2 was doing some odd stuff at boot then nothin

My servo went out before I played a game after update.

Quoted from Drebay:

Completely understandable. The layout just does not speak to everyone. I have #636 and I will be selling it likely at a loss for the very same reason..... The playfield just never clicked with me even though the code is coming along wonderfully. Likely will pick up a TBL next.

It's not the playfield but the way it plays for me. It's just a very frustrating game, and not in a 1 more game kind of way.

#16325 5 months ago

What I would like is once you hit the drops to start a mode, what usually happens is I drain before hitting the scoop. So if it was still open to pick a mode on next ball launch instead of having to hit the drops again just so I can drain. This may help a little to get moving forward in progressing in the game.

And possibly get rid of hitting orbits to set up the drops again. All this would get rid of a lot of flailing to try and start something.

#16329 5 months ago
Quoted from rotordave:

I don’t have a problem with the orbits …
But can’t you go to the Sanatorium playfield and shoot that top right escape shot, that should drop down and hit the right orbit switch and raise the drops? I don’t know that, but I presume that would happen.
rd

I can hit the orbits, it's just too many steps in my opinion to get to another mode. I am lucky to even start 2 modes in any given game.

#16331 5 months ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Thats pretty standard stuff …
Addams - hit the ramp to light the mode scoop
TZ - hit left ramp to light the piano
Etc
rd

Those are all 1 shot to light something, we are talking 4 shots to light scoop. I have 15 seconds til the ball drains, so that's s big ask.

#16367 5 months ago

I would check the red board on the underside of the playfield. There are 2 led connections you can make sure they are plugged in.

#16370 5 months ago

What do you guys use to clean the ball tracks on Halloween? It seems so much worse on this game then my others and I had never found a good way to remove them.

#16375 5 months ago

Thanks for all the responses, I will try these tonight.

Quoted from Requis:

Any one have an issue with led lighting from 75-147, i have no lights turning on….sigh just one more issue with this pin…Player 1 tech and I worked on it for a few hours again yesterday…have already changed the pintaur board twice this is the second new board…. We think we may need to take off the upper playfields to resolve diagnos. But thought maybe someone had some ideas where to look. Yes we called Spooky they are closed on Fridays…my tab on repairs for this machine are now over $2k invested in repair costs getting to this stage….everyone loves the machine at half speed…will be great when we can get it to 100%. opening a ticket monday. But thought i would try here.
Help much appreciated.

If it's on the exposed led's, most likely the first one that doesn't light was damaged. Spooky will send you a new light strip

I am going to tackle all 3 hedge servos this weekend, should I replace the plastic over the drops while I'm doing this or is it not necessary?

#16544 3 months ago
Quoted from zebpin61:

Only if you have the spare time. The plastic guard installation is independent of the servos replacement. I didn't replace the plastic when changing out my 3 servos but will have to now that it broke.

OK thanks, thought it may be the same parts to remove for both.

#16545 3 months ago

Just looked and noticed there is no key post to switch the servos. I thought for sure I had seen one and had always thought I could go back whenever I needed it. Oh well , maybe I won't be doing this after all.

#16551 3 months ago
Quoted from John_C:

Changing out a Michael servo is pretty easy. You will need to unbundle the servo wiring under the playfield and unplug the three servo connectors from the pinotaur board. You'll then be able to pull the whole wire bundle up through the top of the playfield. Although you may not need to, I chose to remove the left habitrail from the playfield, making the job of changing out the servos much easier.
Below are a couple of pics that should help. You can see that the servo harness connections are somewhat staggered. The three servo harnesses feed into a cavity below the playfield and then out and over to the main pinotaur board where the connectors are plugged in (servo 3, servo 4, and servo 5, area circled in red below) . Where the harnesses come out below the playfield, you should find some excess wiring bundled up and zip-tied (circled in black, but of course verify in your machine). Cutting the zip-tie should give you enough extra play in the servo harnesses so that you can carefully pull some of that excess wiring out of the top of the playfield and remove the habitrail wireform. This will expose those hidden connectors so that you can swap those servos out.
Also, just a suggestion, but when installing the new servos, but the servos in from the top of the wireform and put the mounting screws in from the bottom. They will be more secure that way.

So how is the arm that Michael is on removed from the old servo and put on the new?

#16554 3 months ago
Quoted from waletboy:

There is a screw on top of the servo. Unscrew and take off and put back on the new one.

Oh crap, now I feel ridiculous

#16555 3 months ago

OK had 2 dead servos so I switched all 3, now the one that worked is the only one that doesn't. Has anyone had a new servo not work? I did not think this game could get anymore frustrating.
Also is there a way to set the Michaels other then screwing them in, in the hide or show test?

#16558 3 months ago

Got it all set up again and all is working. Had to put the 1 original servo back in, but now I can take all that section apart with ease for next time.

Does Spooky replace these broken pumpkins or what should be done here?

Didn't want to contact them if they don't replace this, so checking what they have done in the past.

#16582 89 days ago
Quoted from John_C:

When my pumpkin flasher bulb failed, I repaired it with a new bulb.
It took some effort to dig out the remnants of the old bulb from iside the pumkpin because a huge goop of RTV silicone is what was used to secure the bulb inside the pumpkin. Using RTV sucks for two reasons: 1. It makes it difficult to change a bulb, and 2. The RTV absorbs a lot of the light being put off by the bulb, resulting in a pumpkin that isn't as bright as it could be.
So my fix was to take a 1/2" rubber post sleeve, cut it in half, and slide one of the pieces onto my new bulb. Inserted the bulb into the socket and then slid the pumpkin down onto the bulb. The rubber band around the bulb is thick enough to provide a nice friction-fit for the pumpkin.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Do you have a trick to get the old bulb out?

Can't wait to try this without knocking down drops to start another mode. There are just so many things to do mode wise in the game, that I hate restarting with drops. I usually only get 1 mode, multiball or Judith per game before it's over anyway.

I felt like it was, Matt wanted our opinion on how we would like it to function.

Could someone please share how to unlock First Kill?
I’ve have this game for 2 years and just played it for the first time last week but I have no idea what I did to qualify it. I had just assumed it was waiting to be coded all this time.

Lock a ball at Judith tombstone, I think that's all.

#16771 53 days ago
Quoted from pinchamp:

So yeah I did my usual and my first plays went on for a few hours. I set it so I had to finish 6 scenes to qualify for the end. Should have set for 9 I guess .
I did notice quite a few bugs perhaps in the code? Sanatarium mode I was able to get to the upper playfield and cross the bridge twice. Was expecting something big and it did nothing until a ball search and released the balls. Hmm. Also I have the second movie scene going and also fighting Michael. I was finishing the scene and knocked the target down but did not get across. Then the scene ended and my battle with Michael the target stayed down and the hole was red. The target did not reset for the Michael battle.
Few other bugs as well but I don’t remember them all. Mostly related to modes and mutiballs. Many times sanatorium level target blinking white but did nothing when hit.
Overall super fun game but I do hope Spooky will continue with flushing out the code and polishing it up. The final mode ball save was way too long but I did appreciate that I was able to finish it.
Right ramp denied many many times. Seemed it would hit that little piece sticking down and come straight back down the ramp and down the middle. Any tweak for that? The hedge shot and pumpkin shot seemed really slow to kick the ball out. Be nice if that could be quicker. I know the movie is dark but the screen seemed really really dark. Any fix for that?
My final game I think this is a decent score? Other photo is sanatarium mode after getting two over the bridge and… nothing.

the key posts has the settings you should try to fix the lcd screen.

Was just playing my newly acquired collectors edition and my son noticed that my lower string of LED strips is only working
If you look at the picture, you see, it works until the blue light and then nothing after
Is this repairable or is this defective/damaged?
Has anyone else encountered something similar to this as I’ve made to this machine?
Appreciate everyone’s help

Quoted from pinchamp:

I am a new owner and been on the newest code only. I was told by the previous owner to hit centre target on skill shot and then through the middle up the ramp. Same thing I see blue flashing and hit the ramp but nothing else happens. I assumed I was getting points or something. A mode should start? That would be cool.

I thought if you hit the ramp through the targets it starts 2x playfield. But I may be wrong because I've never been able to do that.
