Quoted from Colsond3:How did people remove the CE placard from the speaker panel that have changed their armor? Things seems like it’s really glued on there. Was thinking a heat gun, but don’t want to melt the plastic.
I did pick up a custom plaque from you ULEK, which I think is a little nicer.

I used old wire wrapped from a solenoid coil. Worked great.
Quoted from Colsond3:I did throw the old legs on my TFTC, as ironically they seem to match the knocker shooter handle.

The Crypt Keeper deserves beautiful legs!

Quoted from djsolzs:m4tt - Any updates? Still on Holiday?
I would say on a long vacation.
If it doesn’t come till October, could it please be before the 31st. It’s cool to get the code on the holiday, but I’d really like to play it a bit leading up to the holiday sometime earlier in October.

Yes that would be better to have it on the 30th of October so we are good to go on the actual date. Still hoping for that code update though as stated in the past.

Assume the update won't be seen till around Halloween at this point. There was a post on IG that also referenced an update for the holiday. I hope that these old lingering bugs get addressed and we don't have to wait another year for any further polish if anything pops up at this point.

I agree. They need to finish the code.

Its not far off now, I just hope they get in everything needed with the polish along with whatever new they have planned. To me the game is feature complete but of course more content the better, but it feels like it needs that final polish pass to clear up some lingering bugs and to bring the scoring together better.
Was playing last night, and it just isn't right that I can play through five of the modes and still I'm scoring less than I do through all of those combined than I can score in one MB, or in one simple round of Stalker mode. And getting to the mini wizard with the great Don't Fear the Reaper should be a moment, but it's typically the lowest scoring of MB modes cause of it's rules.
I know I’m in the owners thread, but as unbiasedly as possible, what is the general consensus of this game at this point?
I have an incoming trade involving one (because I want one, and want to play it, the playfield looks like a fun shooter plus it’s very good looking)
But I’ve seen an astronomical amount of these for sale compared to practically any other game out there.
What’s the story without reading 200 different pages, is it great, good, just okay, a bummer?
Thanks

I’m a huge horror fan and love the overall theme. It’s a great pin for home use with the lights off and sound up. I love that it plays different than most machines and the code has come a long way and they are still working on it.

If you dig the theme and iconic music it will surprise you how good it is and you'll be questioning where all the hate is coming from. Not your usual layout but that is what Spooky was going for, something different. Suffered from lacking code early on and that cause many flippers to get burnt, surprising what narrative a few that lost money on a flip can create when they didn't even intend to keep the game to begin with.

Very non conventional layout, and it had a really really slow code rollout that hurt it. It's a very objective oriented game, not a fast hitting everything on the playfield type of game, you really got to know the rules and hit specific objectives and shots to score so for casual flipping and such it can be a turn off I would say. Got some tough shots and some nice thematic elements in it, but it's a very unique game which clearly isn't for everyone. Also having two upper playfields also isn't for everyone. Game had slow code development which hurt it early on and losing their programmer lead the game in the middle of production going about 7 months without any new code support when it was incomplete, and it took a bit for the new guy to get up to speed which isn't his fault at all, but the whole incident I think hurt impressions of the game which has turned around greatly.
I really like it but if your a person into fast flowy games, it might not be for you. Being so unique and different is a thing I like. I think the game just still needs some final polishing up on some elements to call it complete, and there is supposed to be more code coming so hoping that they reach that point as it feels close but still has rough edges to iron out.

I definitely dig the theme, I collect vhs and put this together not long ago (Candy corn!)

I do like fast and flowy games, but I have enough of those in my lineup. I also like modes with objectives and good shots, with good bonus opportunities. The layout looks unique and I’m a fan of upper playfields (especially with spinners or drop targets and a ramp)

I personally like Halloween. Scooby-Doo I'm not a huge fan. Scooby-Doo never gets played in my house.
20240331_104306 (resized).jpgIf you enjoy Halloween the movie, the pin is a fantastic experience. Sound, content, art, they nailed it. The code is pretty good now since the big 2023 update, and they are still working on it. Unconventional shots, I agree with the above. If you want something challenging and a real change from fast, flowing games, try this one. It’s an intense game that requires real focus, which fits the theme well. I’m a huge Halloween fan and pinball fan, so this one was an easy choice.
We love our Scooby Doo also. It’s a little less complicated and another awesome art and content package. Still a tricky game. Both pins are pretty polarizing, it seems. Plenty of people aren’t fans of one or both. People have had some issues with Scooby working 100%. We’ve been lucky. When it’s dialed in and playing properly, it’s as fun a pin as we’ve owned. Just our experience.
It's a great game - as others have said not fast and flowy, but why does everything have to be? Also theme-wise it's as close to perfection as I could want for a Halloween game (I think this, Alien and TBL are the best themed games out there).
It is VERY different, even for a Spooky - and it shoots like nothing else I've ever owned. Quite slow, a bit creepy, very stop and go and the ball disappears/re-appears a lot. I don't know how content I would be with it if it was my only pin, but in a collection it's fantastic due to it's uniqueness.
People might crap on it, but I for one am super happy this was done by Spooky. As it is - it's one of my more permanent fixtures (Alien, TBL and R&M being the others).

Good you have other games. I wouldn't own this as a single game or even a second, but if you have a couple of other pins than this will balance very well.
The game flows well with breaks in between some of the shots, similar to Bond, not as many but a couple. The shots are so different from any other game and they are all tied to modes so, like was said before, learn the rules. But even though all the shots tie to a mode I never feel like I'm chopping wood to get through a mode which is nice.
Artwork, sound and video integration along with theme give this game a huge bump in my book. Plus the mini wizard modes are fun. It's usually one of the first games in my lineup that guests play. I don't play it everyday but I play it often.

No need to repeat what has already been said as I agree with this game's unique design, flow. It's an absolute beauty when playing with all lights out. Ironically, I don't like the movie but love this game. Original buyers have taken brutal hair cuts up to 40% so that's what has been scary... I'm still glad to own this game.
My thoughts exactly
Quoted from Flash71:I bought it NIB with budder cab. I could really care less if the value has dropped. My all time favorite horror movie and the pin is fun as all hell. Never leaving!

Well, I don’t usually stay up until 2:30 in the morning playing a new game, but I found myself addictively exploring Halloween. Damn this game is good looking in the flesh.
Though I had a temporarily perplexing moment, where the first (easy mode/car) wouldn’t complete because I could not finish the pink left orbit shot.
I couldn’t figure out why at first, as switch test registered both switches in the orbits separately, but an entry shot to the left orbit would register, and a shot to the right entry would register but not a shot into the left orbit and out the exit right orbit.
The switch was just out of the exit path not making contact. Tweaked and back in business.
Randomly, hedge two and three servos appeared to have crapped out, and they were working. (3 new servos came with the game in a little box) I haven’t look into this issue yet.
Other than that…I’m really digging the flow and the layout as I’m just starting to figure out what does what. That upper playfield is a hoot, collecting supers across the ramp and then I figured out the lower upper playfield targets restores Laurie’s health.
Good great fun, more exploration tomorrow!

Congrats on enjoying it!!! People have been replacing their servos with these that hold up better, metal gears instead of plastic.

That’s exactly what came with this game, so I’ll have to pop those in.
I had the same issue with outlane switches, had to adjust my right rollover so that it would hit the mode shots whenever I shot into the left orbit, cause it would like half the time miss the right switch and not count. It works 100% now
I also had problems with the right loop rollover switch not registering. I changed both of the loop rollover switches to MR switches. No problems since.
Quoted from waletboy:Looks like our code drop will be in October. At least we are still getting one.
Yea there was a post on IG that bug said an update during the Halloween season. I'm just hoping they get things all cleared up then and we still don't have lingering issues after. Polish off the few bugs and lets fix up the games wonky scoring and I would say the game is complete really, but if they will give us extras beyond that, I would be ecstatic
The location I frequent has recently acquired a new CE Halloween. It's been working great, aside from one issue. After a couple games, it will start holding balls in the subway. Any ball that goes to the subway through any route can just sit in the subway for a while, one time it was over 3 minutes. Ball search will trigger, but that doesn't seem to send it out. I was wondering if anyone here has had this issue before?
Resetting the machine did help when we encountered it, but I'm hoping there might be an actual fix.

There were posts early in the thread (probably relating to earlier machines) where they spaced down the subway a little, and/or moved the switch optos so they shone through the holes better.
That’s what I would be looking at.

Grass all worn off from all the people peeking around them

Just sucks because I had 12 blood but couldn’t figure out how to get back to the shop. :/

Think it's collect three blood on one ball to open the store? But never counted if subsequent store openings requires extra blood each time.
Do wish it was easier to get to the store later in game, so many games I've had stored up 14-17 blood and couldn't get to the store to buy an extra ball

Had a few good games yesterday up to 130mil, managed to buy my extra ball too. In that game he tried to steal my blood a few times and the lifters were going crazy, was thinking something is going to break here as a ball was going down there. Luckily ok, that bug and the mode screen glitch should have been fixed in the last update but for some reason couldn't be squashed.
Also noticed if you collect an extra ball as you go into DFTR mode the intro sound is not there, seen that before but didn't know why. Think that might be the cause, maybe. Will watch out for that one.
Those spinners need to be utilised more for scoring or something, love ripping those.
More boobs, maybe hit the spinners to reveal them like on those Japanese video games
When is it too early to start decorating for Halloween?
I think I am going to start decorating this week

I have been pondering this one. There are definitely times that it is too difficult to "reopen" the store, leading to situations like yours where you have plenty of blood stored up but can't use it. I wouldn't want the store open all the time, as that would get obnoxious with how often you "accidentally" end up in that scoop. But what about a relatively easy trigger (easier than collecting more blood, but not TOO easy to again make it obnoxious)? The left ramp is a nice shot that is underutilized, especially outside of modes. One isn't enough, but maybe 3 or 5 left ramp shots to open the store? Or possibly a certain amount of combos to open it? My memory is fuzzy, but I do not think combos are used for much right now. Maybe a possibility? I would leave the blood collection as a trigger to open it also, but having another way would be good, especially late game where it is more difficult to collect.
