I thought the 1 mil is on the screen when you lock your 3rd hedge ball.
Quoted from zebpin61:So it's Friday, feeling silly and foolishly elect to share a temporary goof to my Michaels.
While I love my HW pin, I'm not a fan of horror movies: I know, sacrilege to say on this thread. I suspect it's having 4 kids and living through real life scary situations you're helpless to avoid, so I seek out comedies & action films more. Anywho, after equipping my 3 servo Michaels with blood-dripping knives I thought proper head gear in order. Mind you, I'm not trying to replicate the Village People (that would be scary to me) but it brings a chuckle every time I see the 3 Michaels swing out from behind the hedges.
Yes, it's campy but until the Fall, I think Michaels will keep their police/pirate/Gandolf hats. Unless of course a super air-ball decides otherwise.
Happy Friday all![quoted image][quoted image]
Now you have me wondering what ridiculous figures I can replace Michael with…
Quoted from Boycer:Got Scooby setup and granddaughter only wants to play Halloween... [quoted image]
Now thats funny!
Am I crazy or is the pinball supposed to shoot back up out of the trough automatically if it drops back down into the shooting lane? I hear the squealing of tires, but the plunger doesn’t automatically shoot at that point. It works for ball save, so was curious.
I was having a ball getting stuck in the lane issue the other day. Think I got that fixed, but not sure if I’m misremembering this. If it is supposed to automatically shoot out of the lane, is that an easy fix?
See pic of the area I’m talking about where the ball drops into the lane.
Quoted from PanzerKraken:So hitting a judith target, and then right away I hit the hedge that was lit up orange from the Judith, the screen flash 1 mil points. So this is the bonus for Judith? What I don't get is that these points don't always show when you hit the hedges. At same time I've hit the hedge that wasn't lit, and it would flash another score, like 50k or something else.... but then sometimes you hit the hedge and there is no score.
This seems highly inconsistent of when the game decides to show you the points your scoring so it also makes it hard to know what scores what exactly. A big polish aspect the game needs is more clear readability to how it's scoring works and when. Why do some clips play with nothing, while sometimes theres an overlay of a flashing score in the middle. The lack of communication of what is doing what in game is one of the biggest annoyances. So does each Judith unlocked target shot grant 1 mil? I have no idea.
I love my Spooky's to death, but if there's one area where they could use a bit of improvement it's this. I think on all my Spooky games, the scoring isn't really very clear. On Halloween, some games I hit 60-70 million, others its more like 20 and I really don't have much too clue as to what I've done "right" in terms of scoring on the better games, because the indication is a bit lacking. My American Pinball games are the same, scoring really is tucked away behind everything else.
It's actually one thing Stern are excellent at - their scoring systems are usually very satisfying and intuitive (and I don't mean that purely because you can flail away on a Stern and score on every target hit), so you can easily develop strategies on scoring if that's what you are playing for. Of course that doesn't apply to all of their games. GB for example, I never knew how on earth I'd racked up 4 billion points in a game (note GB is still one of my favourite Sterns ever)...
Quoted from finnflash:I thought the 1 mil is on the screen when you lock your 3rd hedge ball.
Yea I got 1 mil flashing after one hedge and after hitting the Judith target, so the hedge target I hit was lit up orange. It played the hedge video clip and 1 mil was flashing so was wondering about that. Doing it again later and no score was flashing so that's where I'm getting confused. But notice this alot in general, hitting targets and vid clips will play with score flashing for some reason, and other times no score, so what exactly triggers scores to actually get displayed?
All of a sudden my shots at the 3 drop targets result in airballs that come straight back and bounce over the flippers.
This was not happening until recently.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Yes it should auto plunge.

It takes a while for it to auto plunge after falling down that drop back into the shooter lane. I often just shoot the ball back myself cause it seems to have a delay usually. But it will auto plunge eventually. But assume you are not touching it at all for long time and nothing happens?

Are the drops popping back up or trying to by chance and causing the balls to fling back or become air balls? If not did you do anything changes to your rubbers or such as speed of hits is a prime factor in air balls. Also if your rubbers on the flippers got out of place they can cause our balls to shoot badly and promote air balls.

I would assume your airball plastic is broke.

This started happening to me and I noticed the plastic sneeze guard protector was broken in two places where it's attached under the middle pf. Spooky sent me a few replacement plastics; been good since replacing it.
That was it thanks!
It was a new sneeze guard that I did not install properly.
I moved it but only have the two left holes screwed down.
Do you have to take off the upper playfields to install the new guard?

You do not have to remove the upper playfields but you do have to gain access to and remove a couple of screws that will then allow you to lift the front of each playfield up about an inch or so. This will give you better access to those two mounting posts under the Sanitarium playfield.
I will have a newly designed ball deflector guard available within a week or so to replace that poorly-designed and weak OEM shield. New hardware and detailed instructions on how to swap out that shield will be provided.

Can't remember if I'm on your list for this, but I would like to be.
Thanks

Awesome. If there’s a list add me please.
Wow, thanka for the interest everyone!
These new shields are CNC-cut from transparent 3/16" polycarbonate.
These shields are rock-solid with no shimmy or vibration. IMO, this adds a dimension of 'solidness' to the game. The balls still deflect off the shield, of course, but you almost don't even see it because the shield isn't bouncing to show you.
And being so hefty, I think it's unlikely you'll ever have to change this shield out again.
Quoted from Roostking:Yes it should auto plunge.
Definitely not auto plunging. Thoughts on how to fix it?

Go into Switch Test and check to see if your shooter lane switch is functioning properly.

Is the wire for the switch up high enough so when the ball lands on it it will activate the switch and then auto plunge.

In switch test, but not sure how to test that switch specifically?

Can I get 2 of these? HWN and UM...
Quoted from Atripi90:This worked! Thanks
Awesome!! Glad it worked out for you!! And an easy fix.
Just drilled the 2 port holes for the sub and wow what a difference with the playfield glass not rattling. Just had my best game to date! Love this game! While playing definitely had code issues with modes being stacked but I know once we get some updated code hopefully it will bring this game to the top!

Now Im torn.. i planned to do this, but my pinhead buddy who played my HOU Halloween with the lights off and the full experience happening, said the rattling glass added to the "scare" and physical/audible feedback. Dunno now ha. Thanks for the pics, ill most likely do this mod anyway. Maybe one hole to see if some of that feedback remains

I second your friends opinion! I was going to do the mod until that very thought came to mind
