I think we need to give Matt a big round of applause …

He took on this job only 5 weeks ago - his first in pinball - and in 5 weeks completely rebuilt the code structure (dozens of hours work which goes unnoticed by the end user), added most of this new stuff, did the new UI, and squashed a bunch of bugs!

He didn’t even have a HW machine to test it on for the first couple of weeks! Code was flying around the globe.

Now that hard work has been done on the framework, updates will be easier and new stuff can be added in as it comes along!

If this is true that he deserves the lion's share of the credit, then it confirms most of my concerns over Fawzma having been the lead coder again. What's been going on the last 4 months?

Anyway, not trying to shit on anyone, but I'm really confident the new guy will open the door to bigger and better things than were possible with the old development resources.

Completely agree - I’m sure these guys have been waiting forever for asset approval though. Always have had to. Feels like Matt is going to be able to crank out some great code - may not be heavy asset related but I can’t wait to see what he can do

So, the long awaited code released and we are on to talking about that next code update.. haha I understand the restructure but this is sad. We'll see if meaningful code comes quicker now. Are we going to see people asking us to rate an unfinished game still? Putting this on location has been interesting. No coin audits, so I have to hand count quarters to split with the bar. Endless multiballs (thats a nice one). Crashing at various times. I'm really rooting for Spooky here but I am a realist.

Those who updated and had scores wiped, you had 1.08a installed or did from 1.08 to 1.09? I was 1.08a and updated and my scores remained

Some of us didn't have any scores erased, so just wondering why. Mine retained my code. The settings were all reset though.

To note, adult mode is switched back off folks when you update, so gotta turn it back on!

1.08a to 1.09..... my 2 cents

Videos look much better.
Like the new artwork. Still some to change I hope.
Looking forward to more.

Lots of strange things, at least on mine. One time when having Bob & Linda and Michael stacked, I got the ball up and could hear the nail file but no video for it, just the Michael stab. The next time I did it on a different game, I got the nail file video and the knocks but no stab video.

I'd really like to see the right ramp counter explained like it used to be. Telling me X to battle Michael. All it has now is a number that counts down. I know what it's for but not everyone will.

I'd like to see the upper playfield drop target have a split second delay on the reset. I'm assuming they sped it up since I never experienced it before but now, if I hit the drop while battling Michael (and it's red) it resets so fast that it sends the ball into the glass. Not all the time but probably 90% for me now.

Still finding more but I sure do like the update.

Oh actually I'm pretty sure mine said 1.07. I just picked it up a few weeks ago so I'm sure thats gotta be the reason right?

Checking out this new code and went to see the boobie shot and remembered we were promised the timing of that glorious moment was to be changed to the crossover shot so we wouldn’t drain a ball in the name of nipple gazing. Remember this? Yeah didn’t happen

Got in a few more games today with more tonight. Definitely feels more "polished" in this release....loving it!

Additional video clips, and other things already mentioned just seem to be bringing it all together....my biggest hope is the eventual drop of continual Michaels cycling for resets....sort of ruins the uniqueness of him "jumping" out at you during hit shots....just my take....

Risk/reward . Damn, been 1 shot away twice with the new code and can’t seal the deal! Use your peripheral vision to save the ball while gazing at those boobies!

Try this. If you hit the stand-ups Michael still does a little jump, but it turns off the wave of Michael’s if you hit the left ramp.

I'm looking forward to the promised Judith Myers shot changes. And the basic "cohesiveness" of the shot progression. It's a great game but still sooooo much potential to make it epic.

And the boobs. Hell, I'd pay extra to have it slowed down and zoomed just to feel like a reward. Talk about innovation!!

Remember - By default the adult mode is "off" on new code. It has to be turned back on after each update.

I'm glad that Matt was able to refactor the code and clean things up. The one thing I advise is to make sure you actually play the game with the code that your developing. As a developer myself usually what ends up happening is that you code for game rules, but it doesn't actually transition to game play. There is alot of collusion between the modes, scenes and call outs. Please work on this heavily for the next update as it will be a deciding factor for me either holding or selling this game. It needs to flow better as there are alot of headbutts. I'm sure you will get it all sorted out, great job Matt.

So do hope they go about and redo o at least remaster all the other animations being kept as most are still pixelated/blurry often on loading, or seem low rez. Game Over Screen for example looks awful. When the pumpkin mode screen loads up, again pixels upon loading. The semi static background while Laurie face is zoomed on and then you get flashes of Myers on the right, the animation of Myers is pixelated. Lot of the older content from early in the game's release is still messy so hopefully crisper versions of those get added in, as the new content is night and day compared to the old

You literally don’t have to tell strangers about how horny you are.

I wanted to stop by to mirror what everyone else is saying about the code updates, they are extraordinary. I feel like the random character selections are very pixelated, but a fun treat. The animations are fantastic, I love the new clips. It feels like a whole new game.

Halloween is still my most played game in my collection.

I love the idea of the avatar, to make it better they should make it so that certain modes would be boosted based on the avatar. It could just be a randomized bonus with a rarer avatar that has a better bonus.

For example:

Michael Meyers, 2x bonus on sanitarium mode.

I like this idea. It would make different Strats viable, rather than hitting the same modes.

Is it possible to upgrade the PC? I feel like some of the video is choppy or laggy. Is this something that is being looked at in code or is it the limitation of the PC? Would more RAM or a beefier processor clear this up? It seems like it’s under powered. Not to mention it takes like 5 minutes to boot. Am I an outlier or is everyone seeing the same thing?

Someone previously posted where you could purchase the PC. On that page you could choose faster processors and more RAM. Would those work too?

I finally made it to the Boogieman mode last night and actually locked all 6 balls. Absolutely fantastic mode. Good thing I have a physical knocker!

One of the coolest things in pinball! Anyone who hasn’t hit this yet should play their assss off till they get there. The payoff is such a great feeling!

That's the quality of the clips themselves, nothing to do with the PC. With 1.09 they redid a bunch of the old clips with new better HD clips. Lot of the animations and such are canned videos that are just of lower quality. Lot of the older animations from launch feature artifacting and could use a "remaster"

Different strategies based on avatar bonus would make this game even more fun to play. I was thinking you could also have it set to random or allow the player to choose their avatar bonus this would work great in a tournament play.

To make it more interesting each avatar could have a benefit and a handicap.

Just spitballing here.

Updated to 1.09 last night, no issues. Since i was in code mode, I installed the MetallicaChristmas code as well. Cool!
