Paid the invoice for standard #1209 yesterday, and just got my house and jack-o-lantern mods a few minutes ago. Getting excited for the game. And as with @finnflash, mine is also going next to ACNC!

It appears I got a Fang Club kit. Didn't think I was still active. The beer mug is actually pretty darn cool. Sorry I took the photo on my Star Gazer. It provided a much flatter surface.

Nice. FYI I called it. Enjoy!

I love John Carpenter and The Thing has always been my #2 fav right behind Halloween. Maybe more like 1A and 1B. The atmosphere in The Thing is so relentlessly ominous, from the opening titles and the absolutely brilliant minimalist sound designed by Ennio Morricone. I would almost call The Thing a masterpiece, from the location shoot to the casting to the plot. Maybe a bit too excessive a celebration of slimy gore, but it’s still a lot of fun.

#955 unboxed,up and running. Plays perfect right out of the box. It’s more of an experience then a game. Lol! The build is incredible. Lots to learn that’s for sure. It was definitely worth the wait. Looks like Spooky added some light diffusion and protection for the LED’s. I didn’t see this before. Well done Spooky!!! Amazing pinball machine you’ve created. Through bolted to the floor.
BTW the butter cab is worth ever penny. Spectacular!!!!!!

I have 1 small issue so far. My left flipper button periodically gets stuck where it won't come back out and the flipper stays up. Do you guys think it will work itself out or do I need to just replace the button?

Should work itself out (Mando le had that issue) but it is really simple to just replace it with a known working button or deburr it where applicable.

I had a similar issue but it was an easy fix. The leaf switches behind the button are too close together and would stayed "closed". just separate them a few mm and you're good to go!

I feel we care way to much about the top 100. I mean the fact that Family Guy even makes it onto the list at all shows it’s kinda a joke…. It’s over Houdini for f*ck sakes!

Man, the artwork on this machine is just killer. This has to be among the very best art packages on any pin. And I like the Jack-o-lantern start button, but the stock blue button that looks like moonlit trees is awesome.

The bigger the company, the more the votes. Or, just the fact that it’s a remake captures original pin voters. The top 100 is meaningless and really should be eliminated IMO.

Top 100 is cold trash. Lol. Houdini is dope… gets so much hate. Thinking about picking up Halloween. How do you guys like it? Do the upper playfields get old?

Gets the most play in my house... turn up the music, turn off the lights and appreciate the thought spooky put into every little detail.

The pacing, the chaos, the tight (but easily repeatable) shots all increase the thrill.

Of course it is fun to progress to the house, rip the spinners/ butt pretzel, hit the drop then one last butt pretzel before killing the shape. As the ball teeters the drop ramp back and forth, it builds anticipation for one of the best multiballs in all pinball.

The sanitarium is fun but the house is where I spend most of my games.

Buy this game.

This game has real art by a really talented artist, it's not at all like the clip art collages on other machines.

No they don’t get old they play into each game
I’m more “into” this game then I have been into a game in awhile
I like it,ALOT,in general (art, theme, etc.) .But I also like to play it it’s actually addicting and I don’t care about that as something I would need to like a game but it is a fantastic game it’s the favorite over here

Cool yea I love artwork and theme and callouts/sounds. One of the best looking machines in awhile.

I own both. Both are good games. But if a hundred random people play both, they'll likely think Valhalla is more fun. Because it is, if you don't want to learn rulesets, or you're playing in a loud and bright environment, or you like lots of action. Halloween is a great pin, but it's simply not for everyone.

#9346 1 year ago

I think If 100 people played each game 50 times after knowing the rules about 95 off them would pick Halloween. First impressions are really kind useless. When I first played Halloween at Jackbar they had just received an LOV. I played about 20 games of Halloween and a few games of LOV (enough to put up a ripper and see a lot of the game) It’s cool, I enjoyed playing it but I won’t buy it. Halloween destroys it on layout, art package, theme, layout, rules/code. In nearly every aspect I’d rate Halloween miles above LOV. Just my opinion of course.

I have sold Halloween on so many people just by playing with them and helping them to understand what is going on in simple terms. Their response is frequently “oh my god, I had no idea” or the guy recently who heard it sucked and had his “mind blown” by it (and is currently looking for one to buy locally) even the full on haters have walked away with an appreciation for the game. It just requires some knowledge and a willingness to embrace something new. This game is special and will be regarded in a far better light given more player experience over time.

Btw I think the Loomis voice actor does a great job. I like the interaction and encouragement. Monkey Laurie whimper can only be appreciated if you’re an uber fan of the movie.

Please Spooky - find a new powder coater. The current one is really hurting your product by taking shortcuts.
