20k by Christmas
Quoted from J85M:colsond3 I know you have possibly mentioned it in this thread or via our chats about Halloween in pm but it slips my mind if you have ever mentioned on your plans for the players perspective, are you planning on having the player be Micheal or Laurie?
My thought initially was Michael, but other than Laurie and Loomis, I wasn’t sure if there were enough centralized characters for the rule/task set. Michael attacking/murdering other people as the point of the game would be very cool, and I’m trying to stick with that.
I don’t really want the point being to kill Michael (plus that’s not really possible).
Any input is certainly welcome.
This was my costume this year.
Went to my neighbors house and didn’t ring the door bell but peeked in the window next to the front door.
They had guests over and I freaked out a couple of them. They always decorate , thought it was hysterical and love the movie. I took the trick or treat bag in hopes of avoiding the possibility of a possible 911 call. “There’s some crazy man dressed up like Michael Myers looking in our windows!!!!”
They took the photos of me a couple minutes later.
Good times!

I like the idea of being Michael who wouldn’t want to play as him, plus if your using movie footage you have every stalker and kill seen available to you.
I don’t know if you remember but we spoke about Halloween quite abit via pm, with my plan being to retheme a beat up Elvis, which is still on the cards I hope, but I wanted that so the player is Michael.
Couple of rules mode ideas I draw up was to have the flippers go dead, most of the GI go out in sync with Laurie knocking him down on the landing, then have a ball auto plunge as he sits back up, one of my favourite Halloween scenes.
I also thought it would be cool to have his stalking scenes play into the rules, building the jackpot or SJP values would prolong/loop the stalking scenes/footage and the JP/SJP moving the scene on with his signature disappearing act.
Have you got round to drawing up your ruleset/modes yet?

That is freaking awesome! I may do that next year. One guy came around dressed like Michael and freaked the hell out of my daughter.

I do remember chatting. Still waiting on the board from Pinball Dreams. Ordered 2 weeks ago, so I thought I would’ve had it by now. My buddy just finished rebuilding the original PSB this past weekend.
Those modes sound cool. I’m working on the LCD monitor with the Raspberry Pi, which was originally going in the apron but now I think it’s going to be mounted on the PF somewhere.
I’m not quite sure how I’m going to integrate the movie clips from the Pi into the ruleset yet. That’s a bit beyond my technical expertise, especially working with this All-in-One board that I’m not all that familiar with.

I’d never have done it if there were children there Just for that reason Colson but it was fun to give a couple of the adults a good Halloween scare !

Any updates Colson ?
Been trying to work on the art. The guy in LA I had working on the art package has been disappointing...isn’t moving anywhere near fast enough. Keeps telling me he’ll send me the files but then flakes and tells me it’s not completed.
I reached out to two other people, but they want between $2500 and $5000 to make their own art package, with exclusive creative control of the art (which I’m not inclined to do). They don’t want to pick up where Justin left off.
So I’ve been playing with some of the snips of artwork Justin did send to me, just working on it myself. I’ll see how it comes out over the Christmas break and then decide where to go from there.

Have you tried dropping ZY a pm for some ideas/directions? I’m sure he would give you some pointers Jeremy seems super nice and seems to genuinely love pinball and he obviously loves/is amazing at pinball art.

I haven’t, but I’ve met him at a few shows. Maybe I should. Still trying to keep it fairly simple on the cabinet, PF obviously will be more intricate and integrated.
Quoted from ultimategameroom:I got this blanket and pillow as a holiday gift.
Can’t wait to see your project progress Colson !
Those are awesome!!! I’ll be posting back in here shortly with progress.
Any progress updates? Make a decision on the art?
I look forward to hearing the latest (hopefully good news).

Bump. I know other projects have been going on but any news on this one?

Yeah man! Following a drought getting screwed by the last artist, and trying to finagle the artwork myself, got a friend & awesome local artist (Franny Drummond) on the project.
He didn’t have time before when I started this endeavor, but I stopped by his shop two weeks ago to see if he could help with my Spidey cab resto.
He actually remembered and asked if I was still doing the Halloween game. I was stoked as hell. Said he’d have time to jump on it end of July or early August.
Got a call earlier...turns out Franny was able to jump on it earlier than he thought. Now I’m psyched!
Cab has been delivered. Heading back over there this weekend, he thinks it needs a little more prep to get silky smooth. Then the painting begins!

I pulled up to a traffic light on Friday next to this truck. It made me think of Halloween 3.

Not yet, still waiting on the cabinet. If I said patiently I would be lying.
Hoping to get it back in the next week or two. But based on the little teasers he has shown me, it will be well worth the wait.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Alright now we are getting into the spooky season, how about some updates there Colson?
Franny does the helmets for the NCAA and got way backed up once they sporadically decided to re-institute their season. Plus the house sale has been annoyingly time-consuming.
But after 2-3 weeks of not being on here much, I’m finally getting back to some pin stuff. I’m going to dive full force back into this thing once everything is settled.

New house , bigger pinball space
I’ve been watching all the Halloween movies this week and it reminded me of your project Colson.
Any updates to share with us ?

Hey man...hope all is well. I’ll be working on the playfields and plastics starting next week, so this thing will pick back up...finally.
Sadly, cabinet is not back yet. Of course he got held up, which is a little disappointing. Expect to be picking it up in the next week or two.
Quoted from mackey256:Charge your phone. Don't want miss that text.
I was waiting for that comment haha
So....sorry for the delay. Finally getting back to this project.
But well worth the wait. Cab should be done this week. Working on it earlier today, and just waiting for a gust of warm weather to finish the last panel and clearcoat.
Until then, a little teaser of one backbox side...
Quoted from ultimategameroom:You hadn’t posted in so long that I was afraid to ask the status of your project.
It was a while. Hope all is well with you.
Planned on being done with it around Christmas as I mentioned above, but then a few things happened, he got busy again, I was buying some other games, then ended up needing another unexepected abdominal surgery.
Sometimes pinball has to take the back seat.
Getting back on my feet though, and want to get aggressive with this thing. Will definitely be ready by Halloween this year, if not sooner. Definitely a huge undertaking and challenge doing a retheme and wanting it to look great, and not just cheaply and quickly done.
Plus this game will be all airbrushed with real art and original. Not just decals I threw together cutting and pasting from Photoshop, printed and slapped all over the game like stickers.
It will be worth it in the end.
Quoted from Colsond3:Cab is finally finished and loaded for the journey back home!! Full pics coming shortly.

Very cool, I don’t really follow much on pinside these days but this build is one of them. Great sneak peak, bring on those pics.

Haha. Very cool. Thanks for following. It took a long time to get to this point, but well worth the time and wait for me.
This game will be playable by Halloween this year. Going to start moving again now.

Really looking forward to your work.
