What a PITA. This literally took me years due to having babies and myself doing most of the work alone. It's only a half basement as I do have a ~400 sq/ft. crawl space on the other side. I made my dream come true though and I'm pretty happy with the end result.

    Quoted from Wyopinball:

When I play pinball, sports is the last thing on my mind.
It's off the hook, no doubt. Great job.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Yes I too focus on pins when playing, but the seating area is great for relaxing and catching games or TV.

I have sound piped into the 2 ceiling speakers from only the center TV with a small sub in the corner, hooked up to a cheapo Pioneer receiver. So I usually have sports on the outer 2, while the kids or my wife can focus on the main TV with sound if they want to watch a show.

I didn't bother doing anything with the sound from the outer TVs and have disabled the speakers. With the Comcast App I can easily switch stuff around on the 3 screens as needed.

    Quoted from Asylum:

Great job man... and just in time for March Madness!
    But what happened to TWD?

TWD just couldn't hang. I wanted to like it but it just wasn't worth keeping IMO. Hydro Thunder had to go too which I had to destroy cabinet to remove. It just wasn't worth the effort to try to remove with the basement now finished. I had brought it down way before I started construction.

    Quoted from shirkle:

How do you like the location of your lights above your games? Looks like it's right above the lockbars....any glare from there? I'm asking because my gameroom finish is (perpetually) just around the corner and that's a question I've been contemplating.

I tried to not put lights over the games while not having a dark void in that row. While playing with lights on, I have no glare coming from the glass, maybe a little at the very bottom. Most of it is on the lockdown bar/arch area. You could get fancy and put lights right over the games, yet have that row on a separate switch/circuit from the rest of the lights.

    Quoted from lancestorm:

Now just add in a automated drop-down 120'' theater screen in front of those 3 tv's and you'd have just about my dream setup . Congrats OP, looks great. Did you install the carpet too???

I have considered this. I do have a 120" theater area in my living room on the main floor, and considered consolidating it into what you describe. I just am not sure I'd like the speaker placement for the rears due to the room design. Still a possibility down the road. Flooring wise I only did the gym floor, but not the carpet.

    Quoted from Mfsrc791:

Did you take out the lally column? Just curious because I took mine out and replaced it with a 12 ft I beam. Made all the difference in the world. Your basement Looks nice!!!!

I left it there, and encapsulated it into a 2x6 studded wall. It's still there approximately where I marked in the pic below.

    Quoted from cosmokramer:

ya know...you could sell that gym equipment and fit in a few more pins...

I had considered the whole thing being a game room, but I wanted a little of everything. Somewhere to sit/relax/watch stuff, play games, and workout. My wife works out a lot on the treadmill and I think its best long term that she remains happy and stays in shape I also got back into working out when I finished the gym in October '16 and feel great about it.

    Quoted from lancestorm:

OP, how many amps did you give the electric outlets that power the pinball machines?

A little overkill, but I wanted to be safe in case I have 9 pins with magnets someday all going off at the same time!

I have 3 dedicated circuits on that game wall, each 20a.

I went gentle "TNT Todd Tuckey" style with a small sledge to break down Hydro Thunder. Was very hard decision to make, but it was best for my back, the drywall, and the door at the top of stairs.

It was but it had a history of monitor issues. I eventually bought a brand new one a year or two ago. And then that took a crap on me as well a few weeks ago. At that point I was so angry I couldn't stand looking at that thing anymore. I plan on selling the parts. I am not sure if I will bother trying to fix the monitor. It is a nice Makvision tri-mode though.

    Quoted from dudah:

I was gonna write how "good thing that Hydro Thunder is already down there, because it's never going up those stairs again" but it seems like you made me eat my words
I grew up in Schaumburg, my brother still lives there and would've gotten 10 of his buddies to pull that Hydro Thunder out!

If the monitor didn't take a crap again, I would have tried. I was so over the damn thing at that point, sledge hammer was my only option.

Also to get it up the stairs, whole railing would have to come off, but worst part is the doorway. It doesn't fit thru the door, you have to strip off the door stop on both sides. Even when you do that, it's so tight, you need lube. I used soapy water when I brought it down stairs to squeeze it the the door jam.
