I received my FX-601 and it works great. Awesome price and customer service from B+D! Matt hooked me up 
. Heats up just as fast or faster than my FX-888 but more portable for working inside pins.
B+D also sells the Hakko barrel adapter (#B3730) that basically converts the iron to a FX-600 (that uses the T-18 tips rather than the more robust T-19 tips used with the 601) to use for finer electronic/board work. Picked that up as well. Note, the FX-600 is only available overseas, so this adapter allows you to have both! Matt pointed out that you can also use your existing FX-888 barrel on the 601 as well, but I prefer to not bother swapping barrels since the adapter is under $8. I also picked up the Hakko 605M Hot Sock so you can store it immediately after use. Very handy.
