Looks like Hakko just released a new version of it's popular Hakko FR-300!

Some interesting nozzles on offer, extra long, oval, and so on.

I wonder if you can retrofit some of the new FR-301 parts into the FR-300.

I'd be interested in the feature that is supposed to help reduce clogging.

From just my general research, that doesn't seem to be the case.

However, I was planning on contacting Hakko to ask....

Sorry to exhume this post, I'm thinking to buy this new tool and I was wondering which type/size of tips should I take with it in order to work without problems on nineties pinball boards ?

    You need .8 and 1.0 and 1.6

Make sure you buy the tips for your tool. FR-300 and FR-301 are different.

Also, you need to buy the cleaning tools for the .8 and 1.6 nozzles. It only comes with 1.0 cleaning tool.

You are talking about the inner diameter aren't you? What about the outside diameter? Look at the pic! There is a huge selection :S

Also do you think that oval shape nozzles could be useful for bigger capacitors (like those on the power board for example) or connector headers?

The size of each nozzle ("Size 0.8mm" etc) is clearly listed in the product name. The 1.6 circular is fine for capacitors in my experience. I am sure that oval one may be good for certain caps, but not a versatile tip, so couldn't use it for much else.

Sure! I think it usually comes with the 1.0mm nozzle.
