I think I may finally pull the trigger on this. I need to re-cap a couple of Williams power supplies, can anyone tell me if the 1 mm tip that comes with it is large enough for the leads on the larger capacitors, or should I also order the next size up?
Question. Have a hakko fx888d transformer with a fx8801 iron. Does not seem to get hot enough any longer even on highest temp setting on the transformer. Is this pencil iron expendable? Is there a new component one would recommend?? Thank you

I was quick to order. Looks like you did more homework than me. Maybe I need to go back and order different size tips.
Really wish we could get that silver/white color combo in the US!!
Really don't care for the blue/yellow combo we can only get here :-{(
Amazon actually has them a little cheaper than the Hakko site (245.00 vs. 254.78). Just ordered mine, plus the 1.6 mm tip. Having 75.00 in Amazon gift cards I'd forgotten about didn't hurt either!
