Picked up a Prospector and finally opened it up today.. Couldn't even open the playfield because there were some jumper cables running down to the relay board

I've found a lot of random wires soldered (and sometimes not soldered :/ ) in places, was hoping someone could compare with theirs and tell me what it should be...

On the back stepper on the bottom relay board, I assume this is hooked up correctly but then I don't know why there'd be a jumper

2. IMG_20170220_184950.jpgIMG_20170220_184950.jpg

On the middle stepper under the playfield, I've got a severely melted step-up coil, can't make out the markings...

It's also got that white wire just hanging there below it, not sure where that goes

Back stepper under the playfield. I'm not even sure what is going on here... The stepper has the normal step up and down, and also a third small relay looking coil on the side? I can't fathom what the use of it is. Whatever it may be, there's definitely some parts missing, and the wiring is ruined. Is this even supposed to be on there?

The outhole kicker and outhole switch seem to be wired to the left flipper EOS switch? Maybe that's all one of the common 25VAC wires, but....

5. IMG_20170220_184548.jpgIMG_20170220_184548.jpg

Another jumper, going from one of the spinners to a kickout hole switch?

The lock relay has been cut out. When I first saw this I assumed I'd see the contact bent shut or jumpered, but it seems normal. Not sure how the game can even work?

The front relay of the playfield relay bank, one wire seems to just have a jumper spliced in, again for no reason?

I'd assume these chimes should be in ascending order?

Wow, thanks! I wish mine was that clean...

I'll have to go through these and see what I can figure out, but could you get another picture of that latch relay? All of that bit is missing on mine, I'll probably have to fabricate that little bent brass rod myself, so I'd appreciate another angle of it and how it interacts with the rest of the mech.

Quoted from schudel5:

Not sure what else you need. Some shots are hard to get because of other stuff in the way.

I think that should do it! I mostly needed to see how the other end of that brass wireform was shaped, but it's just a straight line so that makes it easier.

Quoted from Dr_of_Style:

Wow! only one thing to say about that one...NASTY!!!
I think that is the most hacked machine I have ever seen...

It's the worst I've had to deal with... At least when operators hack machines they have some idea what they're doing. I can't begin to wonder what the owner was thinking with some of this stuff. I didn't even include some of the other stuff, just what I needed confirmation on.

The this relay has some cardboard in it preventing it from actuating? I think this was the player reset relay... So you couldn't ever do multiplayer games?

Every lamp socket is rusty, and most of the bulbs have been removed? At least ten of the sockets' wires have come off

IMG_20170220_184658 (resized).jpgIMG_20170220_184658 (resized).jpg

This actually happened on my Super Straight too, but still annoying... All the rollover stars have also unglued themselves

Rubbers dried up? No problem, just replace every single rubber in the game with rubber bands

Quoted from Dr_of_Style:

There are more burnt coils, than good ones.

Honestly I've worked on probably 15-20 EMs at this point and never come across more than a single burnt slingshot coil before. I'll probably be out close to $100 just in replacement coils on this thing
