I don't think a thread has been started on this rumored game, so here we go.

I'm a huge GnR fan. I was a little too young to see them live in the their prime, but ever since I heard the first notes and primal scream on Welcome to the Jungle, I was hooked. Obviously the thought of a modern pin (and one by JJP) has me pretty excited.

Slash being a big pinball fan and potentially directly involved, like he was with the Data East game, makes the potential for this game that much better I think.

Is this a new rumor? I remember this already being debunked late last year right?

I don't know. I heard it yesterday in a thread for the first time. mnpinball Any light you can shed here?

    #4 6 years ago

I think the issue here is, yeah, slash loves Pinball and is friends with Jersey Jack, but so what?

He’s a glorified (and well paid) employee of Axl and GNR inc. these days. I doubt he has any real say in licensing and probably only
Talks to axl through his lawyers.

As cool as it would be I’d put this “rumor” in strictly wishful thinking file for now.

    #5 6 years ago

Well, if this pin get's done, here's what I'm thinking track wise that might be good that they could pull from.

    Appetite for Destruction:

    Welcome to the Jungle
    It's So Easy
    Nightrain
    Out ta Get Me
    Mr. Brownstone
    Paradise City
    Sweet Child o' Mine"
    Rocket Queen
    My Michelle

    Lies:

Mama Kin (doubt they would use it but I like it better than the Aerosmith version)

    Use Your Illusion I:

    Live and Let Die
    Don't Damn Me

    Use Your Illusion II:

Civil War (maybe not a great pinball song?)
    You Could Be Mine

    Chinese Democracy:

    The title track

data east GNR is such a good game, we really don't need another version. Too many other bands deserving their shot, and no.... I don't mean IRON MAIDEN either!

You may be right. I don't see why Axl would be against a pinball machine. I have no clue though.

It's a good game. I had it for about 10 years. As a fan, I would love a modern pin with full tracks, cool features, color changing LED's, a LCD, etc... There's definitely a lot of other music pins I'd like to see as well.

The entire appetite album has to be on there. One of the greatest in history of rock. I can't really think of another music pin that even really interest me at this point except for maybe Motley. That was such a fun time to be a kid. I think I was in 7th grade when appetite came out.

    #10 6 years ago

Are all the original members still together?

    No Izzy, no thanks!

    #11 6 years ago

If they do make one I hope it has 2018 Axl, like how Rolling Stones has 2011 Mick Jagger.

I’d be cool with that, but I bet they would spread things out a bit among the other albums.

    #13 6 years ago

Definitely needs at least one song off GnR Lies

    How bout this one?

    #14 6 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

Izzy is awesome and a very underrated songwriter who brought a lot to the table in the studio. He’s not a big fan of touring like GnR does and was never comfortable with the scale of things when they and got huge. He’s played a few shows with them...there’s no hard feelings there as far as I know. I think it was Izzy’s choice not to rejoin...there may have been an issue with how the money was divided up for the tour, but I don’t think it was a big emotional deal.

If they ever record new material, I would love for him to be involved in the writing.

    #15 6 years ago

No thread is complete until you bring your magic O-din.

I think I was about 9 when Lies came out. I remember the controversy around that song. That’s the Patience video footage...weird.

    #16 6 years ago

Yeah, I already had AFD and had seen GNR at a small theatre in 1987.

But it wasn't until a buddy of mine and I went to the local park to get high, and a bunch of the younger kids were blasting One in a Million on a boombox that I heard it. For some reason they were playing it over and over again.

    #17 6 years ago

That’s awesome you got to see them in 87. I would have loved to have seen them then.

    #18 6 years ago

Perkins Palace in Pasadena 12-26-87. First night.

This was from the 30th, the last night. Enjoy!

    #19 6 years ago

I love my GNR and it’s one of my “never, ever, ever” for sale games. A new Guns pin would be cool as hell. I hung out with Steven a few years ago in L.A. and he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. It’s too bad he didn’t get to go out on the most recent tour.

Id be happy with a new sound board that gives us full songs.

    #21 6 years ago

Axl's voice was much better the first night. But the recording quality not so much.

I'm in there screaming somewhere. They were serving beer.

He played a few songs at the 2016 show in Nashville. It was cool to have 4/5 of the original lineup out there at once.

All the vids I have seen seem to have the sound track stepping on top of other tracks. Please post a link if you know of one that sounds normal.

The first time I heard this it blew my mind. That guitar riff at the beginning is insane. Talk about making a hormonal teenager more rebellious.

I agree. I haven't heard a pinsound file yet for any of my games that makes me want one, and some of them are downright awful. (Whomever did the almost speak and spell-esqe one for funhouse should have their ears checked.)

    #30 6 years ago

Hope the rumor is true as would love to see a JJP music pin and GnR would be a great license.

It looks to me like he's lost weight since then, but I agree, once a pic like that is out there, it has a life of it's own.

If he got in crazy good shape he could capitalize on it and become a fitness guru. He could do those infomercials like Chuck Norris used to do.

I haven't watched videos, and to be fair, I have always played it with about a dozen other games going next to it, plus some alcohol in my system. I believe he put his own sound together.

    #33 6 years ago

I would much rather have a SLASH Pin instead of GnR. Include music from Snakepit, Velvet Revolver, Solo and GnR.

wow - that def sounds positive.

If they release a new GnR I will seriously just wire the money. I don't even care about NIB loss. Just send it to my house!

No source given... likely regurgitating the same non-info from that "Slash is working on a pinball machine" article.

Take it for what it is:

Looking forward to this modern take on the rock and roll lifestyle of sex drugs and rock "n" roll.

Especially the parts about shooting heroin and likewise lyrics about turning to prostitution and porno to support the habit.

    Bring it on!

Similar to like if they ever decided to make a Beatles games without any of their drugged out references?

I guess there might be a few big spenders that are OK seeing and believing in a past as it didn't actually happen.

    #44 5 years ago

i cannot WAIT to see this!!! Data East GNR has been on my wishlist forever and I just have not found one close enough to warrant picking up. A brand new one with JJP tech and treatment is a day-one purchase!!! Only downside is it could be years, literally, before it sees the light of day....I guess I have plenty of time to save up for it since it wont hit till 2020-2021 given the rumored next releases...

It's not an "if", just a "when". There's a few circumstantial/coincidental indications that it will happen ... or that they were at least in negotiations about it. It's not the next one though.

Well … something small … Jack "liked" GNR's Merry Christmas tweet, so would he do that if Stern won that license? Probably not. I think that Jack and Slash have a friendship of some sort over this speculated future JJP pin.
