It's an obvious defect that shouldn't have got through the final inspection , yet the company says the customer should fix it ?
Edit the company hasn't told the customer to fix it - yet .

Agree it shouldn’t have left the factory. But it looks to have occurred when the button was installed and twisted. If it were me, I would remove the button, smooth out the decal if possible, trim excess decal from the button hole, and reinstall the button.
