Quoted from Skyemont:

Exactly. I just tried and it doesn’t even say 1.17 anymore. No update available.

Same issue for me. I downloaded the full 1.17 update from their website and installed in via USB. Everything seems fixed now, just a pain that we cant do the update over WIFI

#5502 3 years ago

Does anyone have any solid info on when LEs are back on the line ? Asking for a friend .

#5503 3 years ago

im not his friend but I want to know too. For another friend.

Was hearing April now May .Can’t confirm but 300-350 CEs out is the word which would make me think April .Please someone tell me April so I can get a good nights sleep in .

Yeah I keep checking. Wish I had stayed with original code. This 1.16 is frustrating. 3 seconds at the end to hit the scoop or drains your ball after all that jackpot building?? Tell me they are changing that back WTF. And here are my flippers after only 70 plays. Look like they are ready to snap already. Seriously I just unpacked and set up the game on the weekend? Are these made of cheese??

That's bullshit .
I suppose jjp can't know if there are dodgy ones or not .
But it is a known problem , they should include an extra set of Flipper and sling rubbers .

#5507 3 years ago

They are using cheap silicone for the flippers and rings. Go with polyurethane Super-Bands.

#5508 3 years ago

somebody already install game blades on GnR? i love those on my woz ybr, hope for Gnr

Quoted from DrJoe:

Anyone who orders a 9500-20000 toy like this should just go ahead and place the order for premium rubber so you have it on hand when you open the box.

Same thing as how most people go buy a car and immediately buy molded floormats from WeatherTech...that business is booming...Could car manufacturers provide that as an option or better yet, included for free? sure...but why would they? IF you can afford a JJP GNR, you can afford a $30 rubber kit.

I am all for bitching about the pooling, chipping, crappy decal installation, slow production but the rubber quality - while not great - that's a simple expected maintenance item and the cheapest one possible.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not throwing a fit or anything. And yeah I’ve got a box full of superbands. Just in purchasing a ton of machines over the past 15 years I have never had to change the flipper rubbers after a few days. I thought it was odd - kinda like having to put new tires on a car after a few thousand miles. Of course it’s easy. Now I’d really like to download the 1.17 code if anyone knows what up there.

Apparently they do include a spare set of Sling rubbers , now they just need Flipper rubbers .

Who makes good flipper rubber? Titan? Super bands? I’ve never used any of them so I’m curious about opinions.

#5513 3 years ago
Quoted from Drenden:

Super-Bands are the only polyurethane bands on the market. They far outlast traditional rubber and silicone (Titan, perfect play, etc.). Plus, they are made in the U.S.A. and stocked by Marco, Cointaker, and Pinball Life.

Quoted from Drenden:

I found Super band's to be to bouncy , everyone seems to be going for titan , I haven't had them yet . I like traditional black rubber but the Titans are cleaner and last longer , so I will try them when I get GNR .

#5515 3 years ago

I have Titans on the flippers of most of my games. Feels like rubber but more durable and way easier to clean. Super bands are a lot more bouncy.

#5516 3 years ago

I started with Superbands when I was new to pinball. Switched to Titans now. Much more like true rubber, way easier to clean and durable. Superbands look cooler with their gel like transparency, but they are just too hard, put undue stress on posts ...and indirectly the playfield, and boost the shot power which actually changes gameplay, and not in a good way. They're perfect for routed games for lack of replacement but for the home collector/player...Translucent Tinans all day long.

Quoted from pbjksb:

Got my NIB GNR SE (bought from Zach at Flip n Out) today and found bubbles around and near the flipper and a deep scratch on side cabinet. I sent these photos to Zach today and will see what he says. Little disappointed with workmanship. This is my JJP pinball that I bought and getting WW CE next week.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Wow ! you sent it back for a full refund , including shipping .
Zach even offered to pay for a tech to come over and fix it .
I can understand you were pissed off about how it arrived but with the price increase I think you're mad on returning it .
Like I said , you're lucky you got it through Zach .
He might have had to wear the inconvenience and the shipping costs , across the country , but to me it seems like a cost worth paying , for the good advertising .
After reading and hearing about what happened , if I lived in the USA , I would definitely go through Flip N Out .

I would also recommend bands by Perfect Play sold at Pinball life. I have them in several games, they hold up very well, and look great.

Greetings Gn'R Fans,

Our family is moving out to Colorado this summer and will likely be able to purchase this as our first JJP game around the same time. Just a couple questions:

- What are the delivery lead times on the LE at this point?
- What are the LxWxH dimensions of the game?

Thanks in advance!

#5520 3 years ago

If you order an LE now you may get it at the end of summer.

Quoted from jacksparrow0112:

No one knows. Expect a year and maybe you’ll get surprised.

#5527 3 years ago

2020! Also I think 2021 as well. JMO.

GnR transcends the pinball paradigm.
Delivering an immersive, interactive experience like no other.

#5530 3 years ago

No April Fooling'; The call came today, "We have your GNR LE, it's ready for pick-up". The wait has been excruciating. I ordered on day 2 of release.

#5531 3 years ago

I ordered LE on 12/30 from JJP and they told me today based on when I ordered and the current production output that it would be sometime this fall to ship. Bittersweet.

any owners of Iron Maiden and GNR on here? i have an LE on order but part of me wants an Iron Maiden instead. am i crazy?

#5535 2 years ago

Yes you’re crazy. I had a Maiden pro and have had time on an LE. I have a GNR. I think GNR is far superior. Both are great games. But GNR would get my vote.

Quoted from whoknowsgoi:

not crazy at all. I had to let my maiden premium go to get GNR LE and i do not regret it but i do wanna get Maiden back in the future. Both are amazing games.

Did anyone install the Bose solo 5 Soundbar ? Is it a big improvement ?

Thanks

#5538 2 years ago
Quoted from Highclasspinball:

The ce playfield has a stunning, really nice glitter/sparkle print on the playfield which is the best playfield art concept I have seen so far. Same for the radcals with the mirror finish. Only these two things would make the ce worth it!
Regards,
Mirco

Seems they were not as reliable as nice..

I installed a new Bose sound bar. I can't recall what model it was though. I connected to the output to the two front speakers using a splitter. The output volume was very low so made no difference at all to the overall sound.

I then bought the Pinwoofer kit and WOW that made a huge difference. For me an external sub and add-on sound bar were not in the same ball-park to the difference Pinwoofer made.

I should receive my LE next week so I was looking for a checklist of things to check specifically when this game is unboxed. I thought that there was one posted but my search has not been successful. Would someone point me to it if there is one?

#5541 2 years ago

You're in the wrong thread. Go to the owner's thread:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/the-official-jjp-gnr-thread/page/230#post-6343860

Click on the keypost index at the top of any page in that thread, then click "keypost summary" to sort by that. The post you want is in the TECH section and is something like NIB bulletproofing summary.
