I reached out to Jen from JJP on Friday. I’ve bought a few LE’s directly from her over the years; asked if there was a way to pre-order/“get in line” before tomorrow’s announcement.
She replied pointing me to the JJP mailing list; link on the bottom of their web page. No idea of timing on the announcement, but: will be keeping an eye on my email throughout the work day.
Here’s hoping for a “Get in the Ring” wizard mode

Someone mentioned earlier that the mini inserts were city lights and this may be a tour. I think that’s a brilliant way to integrate a band theme into a pin. A few days ago someone also circled those inserts and it loosely looked like the US... perhaps there were some international cities too keeping the circle from looking more like the US.
Instead of a band pin where you just play songs with little theme tie in (looking at you KISS), having to unlock cities or play across a country adds that extra element that take some already great games up to that top tier level. Very much looking forward to tomorrow.
Does anyone else think that tomorrow might be more than just a game announcement? Since JJP has been so unbelievably silent on absolutely everything for so long, I’m wondering if tomorrow’s main focus and anchor is obviously GNR, but maybe they use that spotlight to announce some smaller things too:
- wifi code updates (I think they said it would be made available for all of their tables so that would mean table code updates.....including the long-awaited POTC update that owners have been clamoring for?)
- Bluetooth headphone support (can’t think of a better time to launch this previously announced feature than alongside a music pin right?)
In the interview with Ken when he was introducing himself, I thought I remember Brett talking about how they were planning the next phase of JJP in its growth and maturity as a company. I don’t know about you guys, but this launch and their approach feels very different. By all accounts, everyone seems to agree they are doing it the right way - especially when compared to some other recent “launches” and previous JJP reveals.
Regardless of how you feel about JJP or GNR, seeing another pinball manufacturer on the verge of announcing and shipping a pin on the same day (with no leaks!) is just great for the hobby and us. There is a humble confidence vibe coming from Eric and JJP and I’m loving it.
Congrats to the JJP team and good luck tomorrow on a successful reveal. I’m in on a CE

They are the best rock band for me. Not just metal. Not just doom. But pure rock music. While Led Zeppelin was writing songs about giving you love and lifting mostly from blues covers, Geezer was writing some insane lyrics from another planet while Tony was laying down the blueprint of the riff.
I like Zeppelin, but they're not in the same level of what Sabbath did in that same decade. Commercially successful, sure. But commercialism has never really been my bag, baby.
With that said, I actually dont think a Sabbath theme would work, as long as Sharon is in charge. She has done nothing but use Sabbath as a stepping stone to promote her husband and bury all other past members, ESPECIALLY Bill Ward. Fuck Sharon.
By the way, I wonder if Slash ever thanked Tony for taking the riff from 'Zero the Hero' and using it for 'Paradise City.'

Does anyone know where this reveal is going to happen? I’ve seen a few people ask and nobody seems to know. No point revealing anything if nobody knows were to see it.
I’m so pumped for this title and want to see it. Being in Oz I’m probably going to have to get up in the middle of the night to see it though.

GNR is my dream theme. The Data East GNR was my first machine. I’m dreading having to shell out the cash for this because I’ll have to have it. So 2 GNR machines for me and will probably have to sell my Metallica LE to pay for it lol
Can’t believe I’m contemplating selling my Ducati to fund, getting rid of the pool table to make room and seriously pissing the Mrs off.
Part of me wants it to be shit so I can dispel but I know deep down it will be awesome.
Tough decisions, I keep saying one more pin......when will it ever end.

GnR is rumored to have a “story mode”. How cool would it be to build your own set list as you go? If the inserts are cities, it would be sweet to have a few options to choose which city (mode) to go to, and have certain songs tied to that choice.
Nice to see we only have a few more hours before we can see what rumors are true or not (5 flippers, story mode, 22 songs, band only shown in art as skeletons like AFD)

I agree. It doesn’t hurt that I love GNR.
This feeling is such a far cry from a few weeks ago when so many folks were writing how much of a mistake JJP was making, the teaser-to-nowhere etc. In the end, we all know that if this a great game, all that stuff disappears and we get to feed our addiction again.
