Thanks for any help
Hi everyone I picked up a GNR a while back ,I been looking for texture black spary paint too redo the rails and lock down bar ,I am from Canada Ontario ,we had this stuff here before but now can no find it anywhere does anyone know where they sell this kind of texture black spray paint .
Thanks,
Quoted from TronGuy:I may be a dual member if that happens.
Yes if they make it like the data east I may be too
Quoted from kba78:Rust-Oleum textured black[quoted image]
Would u know who sells this in Canada Ontario or if I can order it on line in the US
Thanks for any help
Thanks
As for the new ramp set for GnR it's a nice guy name Freeplay40 that makes them are they are great I got a set ,he might have some left over not sure but you can look him up on here
Thanks
Mark is the best with out him not sure what everyone would do too make pinball machine look like new
Quoted from wolfemaaan:Looks like you can buy Slash’s WOZ while you’re waiting for the new GNR to come out
ebay.com link
Who knows if that's even was he's or not and for 25k
Quoted from wolfemaaan:Anybody interested in backbox only decals? A friend of mine is selling them
ebay.com link
Will he ship too Ontario ?
Quoted from wolfemaaan:She is selling them, not me. You can hit her up on the Ebay link
Ok thanks for the help bud ,happy flipping
Quoted from pinballjah:You can ship them to my PO box in Niagara Falls NY. Going there is a couple weeks to pick up a game.
Thanks bud ,just seeing if I need them first thanks again
Quoted from Blackjacker:The cabinet ground braid? I don't believe so. It runs up the back of the inside of the cabinet and connects to the bottom half of the backbox-to-cabinet lock mechanism. In the backbox, another segment connects the top half of that mechanism to the backplate to which the PCBs are mounted.
Thanks so much for the help I thought it was that way thanks again happy flipping bud
Hi everyone , I am working on a GNR and in the bottom Cab the knocker was missing in my and there's two wires that go too it ,I got a new unit now and wanted too know where the two wires go too and which one goes on which lead ,thanks for any help ,or if anyone can take a pic of it that would be great
Thanks again
Happy flipping
Quoted from NCTarwheel:Just purchased a GNR. Delivery scheduled for next Tuesday 12/10/19. Woot!
Welcome too the club rock that baby
Quoted from pinballjah:I have waiting since October lol. Almost here.
Welcome too the club again happy flipping bud
Quoted from pinballjah:Does anyone have a contact for the PIN2DMD GnR file. Thanks.
Hope someone has this file
Quoted from PinMonk:It's a very simple piece of thin steel with 4 holes in each one. I you have the machine and the topper, you should be able to pretty easily just make one.
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/535-7023-00
Yes I think I might have too thanks
Quoted from PinMonk:Very nice, but you didn't round the edges on the ends.
Thanks bud ,your right when I installed them I had too round the edges so it would fit the topper
Quoted from pinballjah:Now if I could just find an original topper.
Let's hope u do ,yes I have seen a few on here just in this trend I can make more brackets
Quoted from Draegermeister:I popped on the mirrored backglass from CPR. It's pretty cool. It's a bit darker, which is to be expected because it's a direct print. But, with my bright flashers, it turned out great. There's a side by side and an "after" shot.[quoted image][quoted image]
Sweet looks great
Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:why? most overpriced piece of plastic out there
Sure is there is remakes that's not a bad price
Quoted from DorkVonWaterfall:again?
(insert music from Twilight Zone)
PS: you still didnt round the edges......
Same pic from before but yes I did round them over
Quoted from gregh43:On my GnR playfield I have these plastic blue pieces with lightning bolts on the left and right side of the apron. I haven't seen it on other GnR playfields. Was wondering if anyone else has these or if it's a add on.[quoted image]
They are on every GNR but they are just a decal on them ,did you say yours are a plastic like the kickers plastic
Quoted from wolfemaaan:Yeah I have them, they are stickers/decals
Yes I have had two GNRs and both had the same stickers/decal
Quoted from Boof-Ed:These are original legs. The ridge starts much further down the leg from the bolts than the one in you’re picture.[quoted image]
Yes the original legs start further down for the ridge ,that's what is on my also
Quoted from pinballjah:Re-posting as problem persists. Right flipper is moving in slow motion. Have tried replacing the flipper board from my Tommy (problem persisted) and also replaced power board with an extra one (problem persisted). Previously, all the flippers were really strong, actually too strong and had to change the flipper rubbers to stop flying balls. Any ideas on other things to check? I was told to try a PIN-LED flipper board as this may resolve the problem.
Thanks for your help!
Hey bud did u already change the flipper coils too your new ones you got
Quoted from pinballjah:Yes, they are all the GnR replacement coils.
Ok I had this happen too me years ago and I don't remember what it was now ,was it doing it before you changed the coils
Quoted from TronGuy:Goofy question here everyone.
Is there a trick to getting the side rails off of GnR? I only see 2 screws, I removed them but it doesn't want to come off.
I feel like its going to rip wood or paint/art if I force it. Am I missing something?
[quoted image]
I just did my GNR rails all I did was tape just below the rails and use a sharp knife and cut under the rail bit by bit and will come off then use goof off too get the rest off
Quoted from Jrotten:Goo-gone for the glue. Not goof off.
That's right sorry about that lol
Quoted from Jimmyhonda:Can someone help me out? These two wires broke off the flipper switch. One is blue and one is brown. I just need to know where each one needs to re-attach. Thank you!!
[quoted image][quoted image]
I would think it would be the same as the other switch right beside the one that broke off looks like the same wires too ?
Quoted from pinballjah:Thanks for the suggestion. The left flippers work really well.
When I seen them I thought they looked over kill for switches
Quoted from pinballjah:Any idea what size mental posts I need to order here? Thanks.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Just looked on my they are 6/32 tapped on top just like the pics in post lower
Yea when you really look at it close up not that great shape as he says if that one is mint my is new in box then lol
Quoted from pinballjah:Hi Will, do you have any photos of how the brackets attach to the original topper? Has anyone bought the topper from Pinball.Center? Just wondering how you got it stand up as I understand it doesn't come with any brackets. Thanks.
Yes sent pm
Quoted from fast_in_muskoka:I haven't worked on a DE pin ever before, although a friend needs all the drop targets replaced on his GNR.
Is this a straight forward job ? How long should this take me ?
thanks, Steve
It will take awhile might have too take them apart too get them out and back in but not too bad
Quoted from pinballjah:Does anyone know how to disable the coin door feature that disables the power etc. when the coin door is open? Ideally I don't want the game door to impact the power or the function of the game. Do I just need to unplug the connectors to the two white buttons on the bottom left side? Thanks for the assistance.
Hi bud I am not sure but I would just try unplugging them two and see if it still works or not ,u might need a jumper for them for them too say the coin door is not open I would think
Quoted from pinballjah:Thanks for the tip. Hope you are keeping well, haven't seen you on this site very much lately.
Yes I am bud thanks for asking hope all is well with u also and Marry Xmas too you and your family
Quoted from pinballjah:Thanks, didn't see the coupon code on the main page. I may order one if I keep my GnR, up for sale currently. Hoping my other games sell first so I can keep this game.
Yes for sure I was looking for the IJ but didn't see it there ?
Quoted from mozach:Got the CPR backglass yesterday. I really like it. There is definitely a noticeable difference. It may not be for everybody. But to me it looks great. Here are pics of translite vs backglass. The darker one is the backglass. Same bulb arrangement behind each one
[quoted image][quoted image]
Sweet so the top one is the new backglass
Quoted from mozach:Yeah the top one is the backglass. I like it and recommend it, but it does look different. I was going to get one for my Whirlwind, but glad I didn't. I don't think it would look right
Yes for sure it does look so good I was thinking of getting one but wast sure
I have owned two G&R first one I had for 18 years then sold it and after that I missed it so got it again and did a full restore too this one I don't think I would ever sell it again lol great game all around
Pinball center topper installed with rivets. Happy with how it turned out. I’ve owned this game for 20 years and finally have room in the new house for toppers.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]</blockquoteLooks great I like my with the toppers on looks way better ,great job
Quoted from Blackjacker:Another poster question. Per the release below, DE intended to distribute a signed poster inside each game.
Anybody have any info on this? I assume it never happened, as I’ve never seen a 24x36 poster for the DE GNR (and certainly never heard of Slash signing 3,000 of them.)
[quoted image]
I am not sure if that ever happen but I do have that poster when I got my game so I would guess most people keeped the posters too resell
Quoted from matt_adams:Now to find out which is best!!
[quoted image]
Hate too say but the DE GNR I love my and when I did a full inside and out restore too her even better then new she's a keeper enjoy
Quoted from Jrotten:Nothing like the black mirrors.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Yes for sure that looks sick with the black mirrors nice bud
Quoted from Jrotten:Did the gun in textured black since I have an extra chrome setup. I don’t think chrome goes with the game. My opinion only.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Yes your going for the dark theme which looks good thanks for showing
Quoted from Jrotten:PM’ed you on this subject since that is my pic.
Looks like u added some clear plastic too it also
Quoted from Blackjacker:It came out 29 years ago.
That's right lol I got my when it was 2 years old ,27 years sorry about that but great game all around for sure
Quoted from Freeplay40:GnR ramp sets are gone. Have one R ramp left. If there is continued interest, I will do another run, likely this fall.
That was fast theses are great ramps for sure
Quoted from pacman11:Finally in this club.. Alright might have to put some new pinball pro speakers in this game. Any other mods you guys put in your games?
[quoted image]
Welcome too the club it’s a for ever pin enjoy it
Quoted from gweempose:That playfield looks like it's in great shape! I don't even see any of the typical wear from the Axl scoop.
Just a bit on the right side but not bad
Quoted from PinballNZ:To prevent the scoop wear mark on the centre of the playfield would a small mylar strip be ok? Or would this cause some ball jump in multiball etc.
Your thoughts, suggestions welcomed.
Do u already have a cliffy around that hole
Quoted from PinballNZ:I have one but its not installed yet. My concern is where the balls hits the playfield after being launched out of the scoop. Although not my playfield see pic and wear stripe I want to avoid.[quoted image]
Yes I see what u mean if your game is HUO I wouldn’t worry about that getting like that at all ,my G&R has been HUO most of its life and no wear at all in the spot
