Thanks Wolfemaan for your Expertise..
Appreciate the help.

Quoted from wolfemaaan:

Guess you learn something every day. I’ll have to get some different rubber kits and test them. I didn’t like the whites on my TOTAN but now wondering if white was chosen by J-pop for the bounce reason. I like the blacks much better but curious now if I dampened the original play.

Have you considered silicone rubbers? That way you can go with any color you want and they will all have a similar bounce.

#1653 4 years ago

I used to always use white rubber but they get dirty too fast - switched to RED silicone a couple years ago - no real complaints here. I do still use rubber on the bumper post because the silcone ones really seems to send that ball flying !

#1654 4 years ago

My GNR is fine and bounces great. But definitely considering redoing my TOTAN as it does seem a little dull on bounce which appears to be a result of going all black. It didn't want to use white #1 because black just looks better IMO, but #2 because white does get dirty real easy. Maybe ill try some purples and black or white mixes to see how it affects the bounce/gameplay.

TOTAN is beautiful with black, but did seem to lack some bounce luster

Finally got my name on board at $2.48 billion. Probably not the best score but nice to break $2 billion!

Sounds like we’re tied? Better post that score on Pindigo to know for sure. It’s good enough for top 15, so we’ll played!

Titan rings are silicone and they are not like white rubber in bounciness.

Quoted from PinMonk:

I didn't mean to imply that silicone has the same bounce characteristics as white rubber. What I meant was that Titans have a consistent bounce no matter what color they are. I guess I didn't phrase it very well.

Can anyone confirm the unreleased (at the time) G’nR track Ain’t Going Down no More is in the pin? Joe Kaminkow mentioned in a recent interview it plays when you do a specific thing.

#1660 4 years ago
Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:

G’nR track Ain’t Going Down no More is in the pin?

Yes it is. It's even advertised on the DMD. I believe it is played when you 'Buyin' the Extra Ball at the end of a game.

#1661 4 years ago

It also plays on the regular extra ball, ball

Just received these custom side rails in raw metal ready for powdercoating. Not sure whether I go black and then paint the cabinet under the logo in red or leave the cabinet black and do the rails in red.
Or a completely different colour?
Thoughts from the group?

Do like Stern and put an insert on the inside of the cutout after the powdercoating is done to give it the color.

do you have the cutting files? if you do, would you share them?

BTW, they look pretty awsome

Does anyone have an original topper for sale or know where I can get one. Asking for someone who just got a GnR in near mint condition.

I think you're on the right track - I think a black rail with red paint under would be more subtle - I think the red rail on black cabinet might be "too much" and the emblem will get lost in all of the red but I could be dead wrong. Great looking rails BTW , keep us posted !

Yeah, I was involved in a group buy with them recently - I'm thinking all of the reproductions were damaged in shipping they were so fragile. It's unfortunate

Those of you who have a Pinsound board installed, which sound-kit you prefer on your pin?

So what happened to the CPR GNR? It seems to have disappeared after the CPR announcement

Supposedly they are working on it and 20 other projects at once. They have my GNR playfield to get info off of, sand down, print and return.

Ah good. Got 4 machines worthy of a PF replacement, was curious about this one no doubt

Can anyone give me a confirmed location of the R/H Spotlight. I've searched the Interwebs but can't find anything exact.

Upper R/H spotlight is on the top of the R ramp, but mounted below.

Starting a shop job (well overdue) did an LED conversion, getting new cliffys, titan rubbers, fixed the A hole (cliffy that was in there actually cracked) going to do some touchup paint and very shortly the color dmd and maybe a mirrored backglass. Having a hard time deciding. My original translite is autographed by Slash, Dizzy, Gilby, and DJ Ashba

Yeah, I wouldn't even think about replacing it with the mirrored one if I had all those signatures. Super cool!

#1694 4 years ago

Hang the signed translite in a frame; add the CPR one to the game. They are all great guys and I miss DJ in the band!

Anyone know how to remove extra ball switch housing to change bulb only with out unscrewing whole switch? There is a white contact block that has bulb in it, does it pull off separate from switch. Restoration is done so this is my last bulb. Text pic or how to, Thank you, John. 973-862-1905
