Nice to see a lot of folks here with another great hobby! Been trying to get a lot better at sporting clays - now that it’s winter it’s always fun to see those orange chunks land on a fresh coat of snow.

Quoted from bob_e:

My nephew bought this Barrett 82A1 yesterday. Slightly used 50 rounds down the pipe.

Looks awesome! I really want to get a Barrett in my collection, but due to the cost it always comes down to 'Barrett or Pinball' and I usually pick a new game instead =)

After nearly 4 years on back-order, this thing finally came in - and kind of like a pin, had to pay the new price for it which was about $250 more than when I ordered it in 2019. Mossberg 590A1 Retrograde, made in the USA.

Hah, a lot of shogtuns in particular, seem to be of Turkish origin these days - even from some of the more classic US manufacturers, was just surprised to see Mossberg is still cranking them out over here.

Quoted from Fulltilt:

I do believe they know what I got. I've turned all previous "pistols" into SBRs. I've always thought braces were pretty clunky and weird. Now trying to make them look essentially like a stock was never gonna work. It was good to get a "freebie" tax stamp.

Yeah this is the same reason I'm considering it - register the braced pistol as an SBR, dump the brace, send notification to amend the length, and woosh - free tax stamp for the SBR.

Picked up the wife a nice bit of kit for our anniversary - now I’ve just got to get her trained up on 9mm - she’s only used to .22lr to date.

Quoted from Daditude:

How does she like it?
I'm a Sig fan

Pretty great so far, since it’s based on the 365XL, and has some porting - takes a bit of the kick out of it. Definitely a good CCW. When the guy at the counter asked if we wanted the .380 or the 9mm, I was about to go into my diatribe - but he explained it very well and sold her on the 9mm - sometimes it’s better coming from someone else!

Quoted from hd60609:

Anyone have a Troy PAR (Pump Action Rifle) or a Saltwater Siphon Pump Action AR-15? Looking for the legal option in Illinois and was told by the local dealer that these would not be part of the ban because they are pump action.
Anything good or not so good to say about either?

With what just happened in CA, might not be long before you are free in IL as well.
