Smith & Wesson Performance
It's more money than I want to spend, it's about $1,400 at the local gun shop. Is there a lower cost option you could recommend to scratch the 1911 itch? I was planning on going .45, I don't own any other .45 hand guns. Do I just splurge and get the one that initially caught my eye? I've already mostly made my mind up, just looking for some feedback.

Scored a case feeder from Double Alpha after 3 days of trying to get through to Dillon. I receive DAA orders the next day since we are both in PA...great service over there. Anyway, spent some time tweaking things in today and made my first 50 rounds to go test out. I went to one of my old Lee auto drum powder drops, since the Dillon one swings too far to run a bullet feeder die. I bought the shorter DAA powder bar, but it seems to be MIA. This press is the cats ass...very smooth. And no dicking around with the priming station nonstop. Its an expensive setup, but there is definitely a major step up in quality and engineering to go with it.

I have nothing to contribute but some reloading porn. I've been shooting the hell out of 44 Mag lately...most fun I've had in a long time. Then I made a couple tweaks and loaded some 44 specials up. Going from full power 44 Mag loads to 44 Special makes the specials feel like a 22LR. Once everything is set up, I can run off a hundred rounds on the press in under 10 minutes....hand feeding the bullets. Reloading 44 mag runs about 22 cents around, as opposed to 88 cents a round for factory ammo right now.
