I'm going to change my pinside name after seeing fulltilt and Travish pics.

Quoted from Fulltilt:

Sold my original first gen Barrett.
My rebound gun was the Savage in 300 Winn Mag. I liked it a lot better!
With Timney replacement trigger.

Quoted from NPO:

YES.
4.25" and 6".
I'll probably get one of each.

Woah! Don't be doing this to me. I'm already pushing the big D with pinball hobby.

Quoted from Shredso:

I'm in the market for a 1911. I haven't been shooting much at all lately. Definitely no more than a hobbyist, and probably 3rd or 4th on the list of hobbies. I want one for no reason other than I kinda want one. Hopefully a new handgun will get me out to the range and back into it. I really like the looks of this one.

It's more money than I want to spend, it's about $1,400 at the local gun shop. Is there a lower cost option you could recommend to scratch the 1911 itch? I was planning on going .45, I don't own any other .45 hand guns. Do I just splurge and get the one that initially caught my eye? I've already mostly made my mind up, just looking for some feedback.

Just buy a bottom of the barrel one. No reason to buy high end one for shooting every once in while.

Thanks for the replies and advice. I'll start doing some research.

Get a ruger mark2! That way when you are holding it wrong the slide will smash your hand instead of cutting it open.

Friendly moderation reminder: this thread is not a place to discuss gun laws, at all. This is not a thread to discuss current events regarding gun laws. That is a can of worms we will simply not open as it leads to political debate that we will not tolerate in this thread.
Please read the rules for this thread in the opening post before you post in here or respond to any gun law related post. I deleted the posts above that violated this rule without moderation this time.
Please remember to report violations and do not respond to violations.
Thank you.

Which way is is that? Law way....

Quoted from JodyG:

Scored a case feeder from Double Alpha after 3 days of trying to get through to Dillon. I receive DAA orders the next day since we are both in PA...great service over there. Anyway, spent some time tweaking things in today and made my first 50 rounds to go test out. I went to one of my old Lee auto drum powder drops, since the Dillon one swings too far to run a bullet feeder die. I bought the shorter DAA powder bar, but it seems to be MIA. This press is the cats ass...very smooth. And no dicking around with the priming station nonstop. Its an expensive setup, but there is definitely a major step up in quality and engineering to go with it.

Holy shit! That’s fucking awesome!

Quoted from ultimategameroom:

I finally stepped up and joined the club.
I’ve had high powered /adult air rifles since I was a teenager in the 80’s. I usually go shooting with a few friends who have nice collections so there was no motivation on my part to make a purchase. In the last few months I decided it was time and bought this Dan Wesson .45 1911 used. [quoted image]

Cover up that serial number.

Welcome to the club! A good first choice. 1911 are a dream to shoot. You will find a lot more people to shoot with than pinball for sure.

Quoted from Fulltilt:

More holler..
Gotta' love a 50.

How much per shot?

Quoted from Tomass:

So I enjoy podcasts and tried to listen to the Uncle Pinball's podcast. He says all gun owners are pussies. Deleted that podcast. Why do people feel the need to go straight to name calling when they don't agree on an opinion? I don't give a shit what he thinks, but I wouldn't insult him just because he is wrong.

Ahh don’t get to bent out of shape. I would just tell him I’m the biggest pussy in the world. Biggest pussy in the world. Was that a echo? Yeah It happens with the size of my vagina gun barrel!

#1114 3 years ago
Quoted from Fulltilt:

$2 at that time. $3 now. Certainly can go higher too.

That’s not bad. I have 45 yards in my backyard to shoot. Still I would love to own one some day.

Quoted from EJS:

That almost sounds like something out of a movie.
So I told her I'm looking for a little one. She said, me too, mines as big as a house.

Correctamundo!

Quoted from JodyG:

I have nothing to contribute but some reloading porn. I've been shooting the hell out of 44 Mag lately...most fun I've had in a long time. Then I made a couple tweaks and loaded some 44 specials up. Going from full power 44 Mag loads to 44 Special makes the specials feel like a 22LR. Once everything is set up, I can run off a hundred rounds on the press in under 10 minutes....hand feeding the bullets. Reloading 44 mag runs about 22 cents around, as opposed to 88 cents a round for factory ammo right now.

Only a few hours left to get tickets for this amazing rifle raffle, get them while you still can!

Dammit! Post the next one you have going. I don’t have fakebook. Post it up I’m in. Oh and thanks for being a badass devil dog!

Made it to the range today with these goodies. Pleased to find a load I like for 300 BLK and 9mm so now I’ll have something to reload these winter months.
