Looks like all 5 of those nice grandfathered 15 rd mags for the P94 will have to be gone by next July (CA SB-1446 no commentary on this here, just making the observation).

Commentary might be that the list of names associated with the flood of California anti gun bills in 2016 have big "-D's" linked beside them.

Here's my M4 carbine - DPMS .223 / 5.56 Recon. This rifle has always shot well and I've been really happy with the Aimpoint PRO optic. Everything else is magpul accessories and a streamlight TLR1.

Despite loving this rifle, I've been thinking about parting with it soon. I really want a third pin and so it might be time to shift funds from one hobby to the next. But I won't be gone from the AR platform for too long though. I'd miss it.

I have a Glock 23 (.40 cal) as my main carry and very happy with that as well.

Glad to see this thread started and moderated well. Thanks!

I will also remain speechless on this very sore (political) subject.

I admit to bad posting also.... I completely forgot rule #1. No more political comments.... (if possible)

The AR platform is about the most fun mod available. Limitless options.

At the range, the .50 Cal Beowulf SBR always manages to get a WTF look from the guy on the bench next door.

Agree 100% I love my Aimpoint scopes. They are excellent!! Did you buy those lens caps separately or did they come with your Aimpoint scope? I like the flip ups, helps prevent loosing the caps.

While the AR platform is fun to shoot, if you enjoy reloading the Thompson Center Contender and Encore platforms can be loads of fun.

Lots of wildcat case forming to play with. 357 Mag converts to 256 Win Mag. 30/30 converts to 30 Herrett, 357 Herrett, and 7-30 Waters. Tons of other fun conversions.

On the AR side, my two rigs are both SBR with suppressors. 300BLK and 9MM.

Isn't the subsonic suppressed .300 fantastic! First time I loaded some I couldn't believe it. Totally no need for hearing protection. All you could hear was the action of the bolt and the bullet hitting the paper target. CRAZY!

I like shooting skeet and country clays... here is a pick of the new shotty I just picked up (Fabarm Axis 12ga)...

Sorry I missed this before... Yes, I bought the clear front lens cap separately at cabelas.com for $20. The optic came with a solid black front cap, and a clear back cap. I simply purchased a second clear cap to match the back.

http://www.cabelas.com/product/AIMPOINT-LENS-FLIP-COVER/2208235.uts?

You can technically use the optic with the original front solid cap closed, but I liked the idea of being able to keep it closed from dirt/dust and still see through both the front and back caps.

I just moved and got everything out.

I haven't seen the back of this in years. I call it the sardine can. Rifle pictures coming as soon as I get internet again.

You're tempting me! I haven't seen some of my rifles on the back row in a LONG time. They probably could use a little loving and a good coat of oil.

Could be a whole separate string.... "Guns You Regret Selling".

I sold a Chinese sks when the Russian ones came around.
Oh, and a m1 carbine where someone over peened the rear sight base. I guess I'm in the club.

I sold one of my Colt Pythons years back. Wish I still had it. Both were 6" blued, and I figured nobody needs two identical ones...

Another current favorite is a Marlin 1895 Cowboy Limited 24" in 38/357. Lots of fun to plink with.

Yes, love the lever guns.

Have you tried giving a good scrubbing with CLP?
Hoppe's #9 has a rust remover also I believe.

I despise the ball trough in AMH. We only used that POS for legal reasons.

Would a standard clay launcher get it high enough for me to blow it to smithereens?

#179 7 years ago

Tape it to the front of a nice brick of Tannerite. A better bang for your buck.

#180 7 years ago

Sad day, looks like I am selling my desert eagle. Much as I love it, I just am not getting out to shoot my guns. That and a Wingmaster 870 are currently on the docket. Then I will have to decide if I want to sell me Witness Stock III in 10mm. If that goes so does my reloading and casting equipment.

Anyone else run into this? They enjoy the hobby but go out so rarely it is tough to justify keeping such expensive toys?

They are paid for. Keep it, you will wish you had them back later. If you REALLY needed the money you can always sell them later. They will never go down in price.

#182 7 years ago

I'd be interested in the DEagle

Had a few and sold them years back and wouldn't mind one back

Eh, I have had rare guns. The Mateba Unica Six being one. The only thing different about the Desert Eagle is that it is high polished blue which is less common.

Funds are going to get set aside for now, possibly to use towards a down payment on a house. More than pins, guns or toys I want a basement. I've got enough pins, but want to be able to fit some sit down driving games (linked), pool table, and a shuffle alley. Love to host people and in essence will end up building my own private bar.

Thanks, but already have a buyer lined up on it. Waiting on his ffl information so I can get a shipping qoute.

No pictures yet, but have a Sig 226 Scorpion, a Sig Mosquito and a Marlin .22 rifle (with scope - very fun to shoot and very accurate).

A question for the owners here - would you recommend a good safe manufacturer? I will keep the rifle in a closet with its trigger lock, but I want to store the pistols in a safe along with important docs and such. Therefore, I don't need something that can handle long guns.

I'm familiar with American Security, but that's about it.

Thanks in advance!

A friend of mine bought this Stack-On at the local Home Depot. It looks very nice and good price.

Another question, enthusiasts!

I have a large travel case that hadn't been opened in 10 or so years. Opened recently and found the interior foam had deteriorated into this oily goo.

I dont want to toss the case because its original to the gun and quite beefy. Plus the future owner may want it (I'm going to sell this gun). Is there a specific type of foam I should buy for replacement? Not sure if the craft store stuff is acceptable.

#187 7 years ago
Quoted from Erik:

Yes, there is replacement foam available. You can cut it to the size/shapes needed. Shop Amazon. Good selection and prices.
You can find it by "gun case foam", "Pelican foam" and others.

#188 7 years ago
Quoted from Xerico:

Anyone have a Colt Python Revolver? I'm curious if it is worth acquiring.
It is such a great looking gun. But the price on the Colt Python has gone through the roof.
So I'm wondering if it worth the cost to acquire one.
Thoughts?
Marcus

I have a Python from the late 60s that was my dads it has a 4" barrel and is blued. I love that gun and would never think of getting rid of it. It's pretty heavy and you can put in .357 or .38 and has that ribbed barrel

Awesome, thanks! Discovered my case is a rebranded Pelican 1700 and there are kits on Amazon for it.

Love this thread it's right up my alley. As soon as I grab my camera I will shoot some pix but I'm not laying them on invisiglass machines so the table or rug will have to do.

My main 24/7 carry is the Glock Gen4 G30 model, love that gun and the ability to double tap targets so smoothly with almost zero barrel flip. Hence why it's my main go to firearm everyday, everywhere in every state I go to. It's a very reasonable priced gun with excellent reliability that can take the beating from the constant carry. I'll get some pix up soon.

Plenty of guns in my life, past and present.
Some old habits, die hard, especially when you need to really use them.
Pinball machines were not always the priority.

I think it's cool when you have some history on a firearm. Colt provides a great service in tracing back their guns.

That was a small reason based on some incidental events in combat.
The key word now is RETIRED.
I was simply known by others to "Go ask TBK, he will figure out how to solve the problem".
Not particularly an accident, I am an engineer.
Another is the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) base on medieval reenactments and equipment.
The last reason is what morphed over involvement in pinball, the past 30 years.
My avatar name (in a couple different variations) has been used since 1990.
Some collectors do not even know my real name, just "TBK".

BTW, I am partial to semi-autos and laser sighting.
Colt, Beretta, Glock, AMT, and Smith & Wesson.

I just started collecting and I picked up a arx160 22lr which is dead on accurate and very affordable just under $400.
I picked up a CV scorpion 9mm tactical and that is so much fun.
Glad others are in the same hobby and love pinball too.

Here are a few with the Glock G30 being my primary 24/7 carry choice.

The others shown besides the Glocks are Smith's and Browning's.
