Anyone interested in a 1916 Dated Erfurt Luger with matching numbers? I have this and several shotguns and rifles, mostly Browning stuff that I have had in storage since my father passed away 8 years ago. I'm never going to shoot this stuff and I have no idea of valuations or sales requirements, but I would like to move this stuff on to someone who will appreciate and use. PM me and I can provide pics and we can go from there.

Luger 1916 Erfurt Luger
Browning Light Twelve A5 Shotgun 12 Ga Made 1952 Belgium, extra barrel (this was his pheasant/quail gun)
Browning Mark Plus 22 Semi-Automatic Pistol (approx. 40 years old, probably less than 50 rounds ever fired, still in box though styrofoam is beat)
Smith and Wesson 1000 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun - never been fired, still in the styrofoam packing
1967 Belgium Browning SA-22 Long Rifle - beautiful condition. This gun was my fathers favorite to shoot "varmits" or the occasional beer bottle.

I'm in the process of figuring out valuations, but I am not a hunter and haven't shot a gun in years nor does it fit with my lifestyle.

Quoted from Daditude:

That looks like exactly what i need. Can you compare it to any other glock models, or do you just own the model 30?

I carried a Glock 30 and 30s for about seven years, with a 21 mag in them, My hands can’t handle 500 to 600 round range days with 45acp anymore, so I switched over to a 19x (or G45 if you don’t like brown), which is about the same footprint as my 30s with the 21 mag, But now I have 19 rounds on me with the short mag in it and have no problem concealing it

Quoted from Hougie:

My son has the hunting spirit and I may take him deer hunting this season. I need something that would work for a medium framed 9yo. I was leaning towards a .243. What do you guys recommend? I may go look at a couple of varieties of the Ruger American at a LGS tomorrow.

I wound up with a CVA compact hunter in .243. He loves it. So far he's pretty consistent with a couple of inch groups at 75yards. He's proud to have a "real" rifle.

Lots of good handgun and carry options out there. IMO, nothing replaces putting in your hand a running some rounds through it. I highly recommend trying a friends or going to a local range with a rental counter.

Also don’t forget the older models, nothing wrong with a firearm a few models old at a good price.

Top to bottom. G34, G21, and G30.

Nice thing about Glocks are the aftermarket parts available. If you think you want a beefier caliber to carry with but practice a lot with smaller you can buy a 9mm conversion barrel for you .40 as an example.

Not to forget the HK 45s. Not going to likely be your carry but definitely a bed side possibility.

Revisiting "accidental discharges".

Looking back, there are no "accidents", only carelessness and failure to follow proper handling rules.

Just a heads up for any of the local Arizona people that are interested.
It looks like the Crossroads of the West gun show is happening this weekend.

https://www.crossroadsgunshows.com/events/

My understanding from talking to a local shop owner is that the show is 100% outdoors due to Covid and they will not be having tables inside the large tents or halls.
Also, tables are supposed to be more spread out.

Looks like the show on the 19th-20th in Queen Creek is still a go as well.

Anyhow, just posting this here for anyone that’s interested that was not aware.
Be safe.

My newest purchase. A Ruger Precision Rifle in .308. Hitting good groupings at 200 yards. I'll be setting up the 300 yard targets after Christmas.

Fellow Minnesotans: Anyone seen any 380 for sale(just for shooting paper targets) for a good price? Everyone's on the hunt for 9mm, I just want 380.

I bought a Walther CCP M2 .380 a few months ago from Fleet Farm. Fantastic little hand gun for the price. It's kinda tough everywhere for gun purchases, most places have been cleaned out, leaving only high end 1911's and competition pieces. Another place that seems to be getting a steady stream of new inventory is Sportsman's Warehouse in Coon Rapids.

.380 has popped up higher than 9mm looks like (if that's possible).
Unless you're in dire straights, probably not worth buying at the present.

I tried a bolt 308 for a few years. After the second time a herd of sows and piglets came in, picked up a semi auto 308.

Howa 308 varmint barrel.

Arma light AR-10B

Just having 10 rounds on tap is a must for hogs. First time out with it, killed 2 sows and 2 piglets in about 15 seconds.

Bought my daughter a Ruger 10/22 and her and I customized it together a couple nights ago.
Went with a purple Hogue stock. She’s 12 and wanted to make it a bit more feminine.
Put a bipod, Bushnell scope with raised see through scope mounts so she can use either the scope or iron sights.
I’ll sight it in at some point in the next week or two. From there we will see if she needs cheek riser or not.
She was pretty excited about it.

Nice. A lot to be excited about there - lot of fun. I almost pulled the trigger on a sporter version last week but holding off until after the holidays.

awesome thread! Proud gun owner here in CA. but nowadays, its hard to publicize and demonstrate through social media such ownership for fear the Gov. repossession of said guns. I hope I am not being political here, i have no intent to do so, but that's what we are concerned about. No offense intended...

Lets just say we are safe at home and happy to have purchased weapons while they and ammo were still available. Pro 2a, Pro LE, Pro Military!!!

One thing I really like about Ruger products is all the aftermarket stuff you can do to them. I bought my son (who’s 10) one at the same time and he and I did his up with a kit to make it like a little AR. Added a $39 red dot optic (which is surprisingly accurate for the price) and a flash hider.
Fun little shooter that’s a fraction the cost to take out and plink with than dads AR.

My next Ruger is going to be a Mark 4 target pistol for the wife. She really likes my Mark 2 and wants one of her own.
Been looking for a purple one (her favorite color), but they are really hard to find right now. Amazing how hard to find some current production models are at the time. I am hoping that will change in the coming months.

Might not hurt to make a GT account if you don't have one already. They've been around forever (GlockTalk). Lot's of people and there is PLENTY to find in there even if you don't own a Glock, or even like them for that matter. Their OT page is as busy as the entire site of Pinside.

I haven't done much with Full30 it's supposedly a 2A friendly version of YouTube.

But yeah I get your point. Close by here in the Twin Cities is a suburb called St. Anthony. If you google that now it's making national news for someone getting shamed for lighting up their wreath and gutters with lighting. Basically anything can be shamed/politicized these days.

Be safe and happy shooting. I talk to some of my coworkers from time to time and we chat guns; I always have to be the A hole and point out the features I can have and they can't. Back when I sold ammo for a living we had a lot of trains that would run our product cross country. CA is an ammo hungry state that much I know.

I was checking those out on the link you posted.
Very cool.

I should have clarified my question. I was looking for no-frills .380 ammo for shooting paper targets. I have the firearms(911 and bodyguard), just no boring ammo to fire it with, heh. Still wanna break in the 911.

Heck, I'm still sitting on a few hundred rounds of 22LR I bought years ago that came free with my Calico.

What are the laws like in your state for shipping ammo?
Stores here have gotten to the point where they are depleted of the simplest things like 22 long and 12 gauge target loads.
I’ve been ordering online and having it shipped to the house.
Even places like Walmart, which is the cheapest place by the house to buy shotgun shells for shooting clays sells out in a day lately.

We can still receive to the house.

If you (s1590) can stand the 50 minute drive south to Ahlmans I’ll bet they still have some in stock.

Any reasonable prices there?

Gunbroker and Armslist seems like mostly flippers to resell at a higher price.

I’m out of the ammo game for now since I reload and stocked up.

Even if you don’t reload I recommend checking out Powder Valley’s website they have an excellent write up about the shortage of primers for both reloaded and ammo manufacturing. That seems to be the limiting factor for production.

Check early and often. A lot of online retailers will “bleed” cases onto their site to make sure everyone gets a chance. No more ammo at Walmart in MN. I think I posted a sign I saw last year at Sportsman’s guides outlet showroom saying “welcome Walmart customers”.

I won’t get started with some retailers over others and their practices through tough ammo times. Usually turns out some people will swear BY them, while others will swear AT them.

I just looked. FMJ 9mm is going for over $.60/round. I'm really glad I bought a lot of bulk range ammo back in the spring, was basically half the going price that it selling for now on these secondary markets. I've got enough defense ammo that I have no need for that at the moment.

Armslist very recently changed their site so that you have to pay a monthly subscription, so I basically stopped looking at stuff there.
Gunbroaker requires a little bit more digging on the site. Yes, there’s plenty of people there that are capitalizing on the current situation, but there’s still some stuff on there at what I would consider rational prices for today.

Good call! I have the 27 in 40 cal which is a beefy caliber for that size but your 26 will be very manageable. That will be a keeper for you.

Side stepping a bit I think the 9mm vs .40 vs 45 debate will be a never ending argument that is a waste of energy. I mean there are obviously going to be some ballistic differences between 9 and 45 but at the end of the day hitting your target is what matters most.

Yeah I am with you. Someday soon I'll buy a compact 45, if they exist. I have not looked into it. 45 is my favorite caliber...its BEEFY!

They exist. I know Kimber makes a lot of mini 1911's I don't have any.

Glock 30 and 36 are pretty compact too.

Plus that's a fun caliber to suppress if you want to down the road.

They actually shoot smoother than a .40 in my experience.

The only two 45's I have are a High Standard 1911 and the other I built from scratch. The receiver I bought online and it was registered (Hi ATF!)

Speaking of compact 45s, I picked this up this week for my birthday.
I turned 45 a couple days ago and it seemed like the appropriate thing to do.
Went down to one of the local shops thats owned by a guy in the pinball community and this was in the used case (well, barely used).
Gave me a great deal on it.
One of the shop employees who I get along with pretty well said “If this is what you get for your birthday when you turn 45, I can’t wait to see what you get when you turn 50”. Lol

Awesome!
It’s really hit and miss right now up here.
The Wallmart up here in Cave Creek stocks at night and if you dont go early in the morning the shelves are empty before noon. We’re really close to Ben Avery Shooting facility and there’s a lot of BLM land up here (public land) where people dove and quail hunt so they sell out quick.
Couple that with all the hoarding that’s going on and it’s been really hard.

My parents and my brother are driving out after Christmas and want to spend a couple days out in the desert breaking clays.
Took me four trips and three different stores to get a bunch for when they come out. In normal times we would just stop and buy some on the way out to go shooting. Now a days you have to prior plan and buy them way in advance.

Beautiful shotguns BTW!!!

#1298 3 years ago

Walmart had signs limiting purchases to 2 boxes.
It was 7 am, I loaded it all up and the gal at the regiser didn't say anything, so I rolled with it .

Oh snap.
I’ll be pissed if they start limiting it here.
If we go out for a full day of shooting clays we shoot through 300-500 shells easy if there’s a group of people. And that’s mixing it up with rifle and handgun target shooting.
Two boxes is no where near enough for a day out with a group of people.

My hopes is that come January/February things get back to some kind of normal and people stop hoarding.
