I recently had my Laser War start blowing the 520-5001-00 flipper power supply fuse as soon as the power was turned on. Testing proved the bridge rectifier was the problem, but given the age I wanted to replace the other parts too.
I started searching for parts, after shipping and taxes it was close to $20 for just the bridge rectifier, resistor, and 2 caps. When I started exploring replacement boards I came across a small company called Gulf Pinball. Marco and Ksarcade both sell some Gulf Pinball boards, but the company havs almost 0 internet presence. Kinda odd in today's age. That's the main reason I wanted to post this so someone else might be be able to find out about them.
I found a Pinside post about them that lead to an ebay seller, vanwagnd112. He is a retired electrical engineer that is remaking some boards, mostly power related. He was very good answering all my questions. Also, buying directly from him on ebay was much cheaper with free shipping.
The board itself seems to be well made and closely follows the Williams C-9939 layout and parts labeling. The soldering is good and there is even a through hole for mounting a heatsink to the bridge rectifier. I'll let the pics speak for the rest and update if any problems come up after use.
Some will ask why I did not save the original board. I will rebuild it, but I have other projects and kids taking up my time to do the repair work right now. The small extra cost was worth saving the time.
