Quoted from Nevus:I've passed on my GB Prem for now. I didn't want to, but my pin spending was getting a little silly this year.
You have been on a tear this year!
Yeah, the arcade in the Lake Charles Golden Nugget is right next to the buffet. Was there 3 weeks ago. No pin. Of course.
I would SO love to come and be a part of this. But ~5 hours drive each way I just can't do.
Have a blast! And consider yourselves lucky I won't be there to school y'all. Yup, talkin' some trash. lol
Quoted from TigerLaw:Perhaps you could ride over with some of the SW Louisiana guys? Reduce your drive a few hours.
It's not the driving. Rather simply the time/travel. Things I gotta do...
Have fun! And I want to see pix!
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:He beat the biggest pinball player ever!
Really! 6' 10" ? 7 foot?
Ok, I'm not as hip as I thought. That doesn't seem to be Hulk. Thought it might be X-Men's Beast, but that doesn't seem right either. Help! WTF is that? (Cool, I know. But who?)
One for the ages! Thanks, Nevus! Met some great, fun folks and had a blast. We put on a show there at the end!
Quoted from Nevus:I'm going to reach out to Kim V. about putting us together. I will only be bringing one and one of the Moncla's will be in the tournament. If my count is right we will have four games.
Dennis and Leon
Mike
Scott
Chris (me)I will ask for a small space near Pinside or Spooky.
That would be great, Nevus

Gonna be 3 machines I'm afraid. I'm not exhibiting after all. POTC sold.
Not sure whether I've met Allen, but you can count on me for a donation at Chris's tourney in a couple weeks.
Quoted from TigerLaw:We are getting close to the Shreveport tourney!!! Who all is in?
I'll be there!
Hi guys and gals! I've been pretty quiet lately, I know. A couple days ago I realized I hadn't even hit Pinside in like 60+ days! So, trying to catch up!
Planning to come to Nevus's on the 24th -- barring our grandchild being born down in Lake Charles at that time!
2 things....
1) Gonna build a 60 in 1 Jamma vertical upright arcade for the game room. In need of a cheap cab if anyone has one. Empty or full.
2) Ready to mix things up! Have a LOTR and TSPP. Both very nice but not CQ of course. Interested in trade -- either temp or perm. Wishlist includes... IJ, MET, GOT, Star Trek, ST:TNG, WOZ, TOM, Congo.
Wife Cherie might balk at LOTR leaving, but I think I can convince her with the right machine in return.
Looking forward to the 24th, and Happy Valentines Day, y'all!!
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:the Red River Replay III pinball party and tournaments at Nevus's place are on Sat Feb 24th.
Oooops, yeah the 24th. Thanks, Mike.
Quoted from TigerLaw:If not fun pinball stuff, how about just fun stuff? Share some pics of your weekend.
Concert at Landry Vineyards yesterday with some of the family!

Quoted from Jodester:I really feel happy we have a good group of folks in the GCPC. I read all of the dumpster fire/totes thread here on Pinside and can't believe some folks would call another member out like those folks did. Not saying behavior was acceptable by the subject of the thread, but we would have handled it differently.
Amen amen. Drama is nice -- but only on the movie screen.
I sure wish I could get together with y'all more, because we DO have a great buncha folks down here!
Tote bags will forever be a part of Pinside lore now. hahaha Amazing!
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:4 days since last post where did everyone go? Nothing happening in the Golf Coast other than heat?
Looks like TigerLaw and I are gonna do a temp swap -- my TSPP for his STLE -- at Red River Replay on 9/1. Looking forward to it!
I come back from a week+ in California, and this thread has BLOWN UP! Looking forward to seeing folks at RRR4 on Saturday! And making a swap!
Results from RRR4 have posted to IFPApinball.com! Yes, I'm excited! Debut at #7? Uh, yeah, I'll take it!
Quoted from Jodester:Batman plays well but Edwin has it the game set at 8 degrees!
And the tilt bob at the end of the rod too I bet! lol
Quoted from Jodester:Simpsons is beautiful Scott. I had not seen it during the unloading. I adjusted the pot for 5.1 volts to stop the issue Tiger was having.
Thanks and thanks! I'd hoped it was just a re-seat and a pot adjust as necessary. Checked my notes. Had to do that about 3 years ago.
Quoted from Jodester:I had a good game and put up 22 million. How the heck do you get to 300 to 400 million on the game????
It's all about stacking -- and keeping the timer from running out. Just wait till you get like 4 modes, I&S MB, Couch MB, and Mystery Spot all going at the same time!! It's nuts! Having the outlanes like they are helps also.
Y'alls scores on ST are slowly disappearing btw. Loving this game!
Quoted from Mudflaps:He throws those things in the trash. TWD at Nevus’ house has an assault charge pending.
Easily, the funniest thing I'll read today!
That's great Nevus !
I hope your back is better Jodester
Keep those pix coming TigerLaw and Pinball-is-great !
Quoted from Mudflaps:Look what I found in Lyons, Colorado
Yo Mudflaps Is it just a sign? Or do they have pins?
Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm managing to play *a little* with the broken wrist, but competitively? Or a lot? No way.
Still VERY thankful today regardless!! Enjoy, y'all !
Hahaha you'd better not TigerLaw !
And please don’t count me out of the LA championship tournament just yet.
I get my elbow back this Friday and have nothing to lose, so I might go ahead and play. Keep me in the loop please! Pinball-is-great
IMG_6051 (resized).jpgQuoted from TigerLaw:I had glass break on scottslash ‘s TSPP a few weeks ago,
Oh man!! Glad it was on the floor. Never experienced it myself, but all these stories, I sure get nervous setting those things down.
Anyway, hope everybody had a Merry Christmas!
The ONE game that I know... out of the tournament. But at least it will give me a good shot at winning the side tournament! Honestly guys it’s all the same to me. I just got to give you some crap!
We’re bringing a similar veggie tray and a sweet snack mix. Looking forward to the food, fun, and fellowship!
Tourney was a blast! Thanks to TigerLaw and PavBall for hosting, and Pinball-is-great for another bang-up TD job! VERY happy with my 5th place finish and winning the side tourney on TSPP. (Thanks for picking that one!)
Enjoyed meeting some new folks and catching up with some of the old folks. You know who you are.
BTW... Do we know who got that GotG in Houston?
4/14 is Palm Sunday. Marked calendar. Too early to say, but will sure try!
In other news...
Sold the LOTR Sunday. Had a great run and almost made it to Valinor once or twice. Enjoy jsm172 !
Just bought a Deadpool Pro! Got a great new-out-of-the-box TPF demo deal from Marco/FUN!. Wish I could be there for the unboxing that Thursday, but not coming till Friday. Oh well. SO looking forward to it!
The 5v adjust pot is already all the way up. So at this point I would probably suspect and replace the bridge rectifier. Assuming the connectors are still sound.
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:Best of luck to the UL-Monroe Warhawks on already winning two games this week
Admittedly, not been following the Warhawks. But glad to hear they're doing well. Makes folks around town happy!
Quoted from TigerLaw:And TSPP is now officially ready for Romp VI!!!
Thanks for taking care of my baby! I'm wrestling with that drop target on ST again.
Quoted from scottslash:Thanks for taking care of my baby! I'm wrestling with that drop target on ST again.
TigerLaw You'll be glad to know I've got the drop target working like a champ again. Had to drill several holes in the playfield and get rid of the Vengeance ship, but it works great! (Do I need to add an emoji?)
Looking forward to seeing folks at @tigerlaw 's Romp In The Swamp VI !
https://pinside.com/pinball/events/romp-in-the-swamp-vi-plus-side-tourney-2019
I and my stepson Chris will be there! Who else?
Great time in Lake Charles indeed! Thanks to our gracious hosts, tourney directors, and all the competitors!
Quoted from Arcade:Anyone have a copy of the photo with me, Preston and Kelly with our trophy’s
I was going to copy it from here to post on Facebook, but it did not get posted.
I photobombed that one! I'd like it, too!
Quoted from Arcade:Since you are now an honorary Mafia member you are welcome in all photos
Thanks! (and I still want my shirt!)
My son Chris (I've created a monster) and I will be there the 18th! Doing a swap in the driveway, too!
Quoted from TigerLaw:Where is it going?
Yeah. And that looks like a big hole to be filled in before next weekend.
Lifesize statue of Mudflaps being delivered this week?
Quoted from TigerLaw:4 from Mississippi and 5 from Lake Charles.
And one (possibly 2) from Monroe/Funroe! Can't wait! (But I will. Sigh.)
Quoted from PavBall:Thank you for taking such good care of Star Trek for us. It is playing great. Did you install lit speakers? I don’t remember it having those?
Yeah, ya'll owe me for those lights. Just kidding. I didn't add em.
Loved having it visit. Was a lot of fun!
Looks like Monroe is joining the Pinball Renaissance!
A place called Surge is building in West Monroe. Pinballs are not too likely there, BUT...
Tilt Studio building into 60,000 sq ft in our mall. https://tiltstudio.com/
And a barcade is "opening soon" on Louisville Ave.
Amazing. Simply amazing. I can't wait to get to know all the owners/operators and see what the future holds!
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:There was an arcade called Tilt in the mall at Witchita Falls TX and not 1 pinball machine in it.
The previous arcade in our mall was also called Tilt. Had one pin. Long time ago.
But look at the pix on Tilt Studio's home page: https://tiltstudio.com/ I'm thinking they're gonna have pins for sure!
Quoted from Nevus:For MM, I’m going to get PinsStadium lights, Titans and new LEDs. I’m considering mirror blades and RadCals.
PinStadiums on that MM would be HUGE!
Quoted from Nevus:For MM, I’m going to get PinsStadium lights, Titans and new LEDs. I’m considering mirror blades and RadCals.
PinStadiums on that MM would be SWEET!
Quoted from Nevus:Red River Replay will be Saturday Sept 14 2019
Sounds great! On my calendar!
Quoted from Nevus:Red River Replay is confirmed for Saturday September 14, 2019.
Recently got word of reception for eldest granddaughter that day. Sigh. Oh well.
I guess I'm Bizarro TigerLaw.
I can do the 19th of October, but I cannot do the 12th of October.
Yet, we DO agree we'd really like to make your event!
Come what may. S'all good.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:We are going with the 12th of OCT, that seemed like the date most could do, sorry Scott.
S'all good. Thanks for thinking of me. Y'all have fun!
I'm helping with the Strauss Theater's production of Godspell. Working on setting up the band today. I do look forward to seeing your game room!
I started a new thread, but posting here also...
Tilt Studio is opening Sept 1st in Pecanland Mall in Monroe, LA! Huge place! Look them up on Facebook or otherwise.
Already delivered are Deadpool (Pro), Star Wars (Pro), Guardians of the Galaxy (Pro), Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast (Pro), Black Knight Sword of Rage (Pro), and The Beatles (Gold Edition). Plus, Jurassic Park (Pro) is on the way.
Management is way cool. Other Tilt Studio locations cooperate with local leagues / tourneys, and I for one would LOVE to help get some stuff going in Northeast LA!
Pins-At-Tilt-In-Monroe-LA (resized).jpgSpent some of the weekend in Bossier/Shreveport. Found a TWD at Riverview Game Room at Margaritaville Casino/Resort. (And added it to Pinmap.)
Can't make the 14th, Nevus. Eldest granddaughter getting married!
But today, I'm heading to Tilt Studios Pecanland. Hopefully they've fixed their JP2....
Quoted from Nevus:I'll plan to make a trip over on a Saturday soon and see Tilt. Maybe we could get lunch and then play some pinball?
That'd be great!
Love the shirt! And FWIW, I'm gonna be working with Tilt Studio to get Monroe on that map!!
That Lay's shot with Josh is PERFECT!
I wish I coulda been there. Congrats to the winners!
I don't know what to do.
I spoke with Tilt Studios corporate VP of Operations today. He was visiting the Monroe location and I happened to be there.
If they/we don't start getting more people playing pinball here in Monroe, these great machines are gonna be GONE by Spring. And it was not a ruse.
Only so much I can do.
They're ok with tourneys, but not on Saturdays because it's so crazy busy.
I've emailed the right person and proposed a "pinball workshop" to give people the basics of playing and give them a couple hours of unlimited play. No response as yet. (I'm about to follow up.)
I don't know what to do.
"Can y'all come out and play?"
Quoted from action76:What about a Sunday?
I don't know. Trying to get the Marketing director to return my contacts is like pulling teeth right now.
Quoted from Nevus:"Come to my business ASAP, or else!", said no successful business owner ever.
He might have come off that way a bit, but he's right. Not all the Tilt locations have pins, and if they don't get play, they're gone.
I had to figure out what a selfie league is. Yes, that would be the way to go for a league, but there just aren't any players around here.
I forgot about tiltforums. Thanks for the reminder.
Am hoping Tilt will go for my Pinball Workshop idea, but I'm hearing only crickets so far.
Lotsa church stuff this weekend (the pumpkins arrive tomorrow!) But I'm sure I'll find time to get to Tilt for a while.
Maybe I'll hold an impromptu class.
Planning the trip to Leesville on 10/12 along with my son, Chris. And a December Romp sounds GREAT!
Sunday night..... GO COWBOYS!
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:Beat them Cowgirls.
Name-calling? Where's a moderator when you need one?
Been logging a bunch of time on JP2. Very fun game, and probably my favorite at Tilt. Speaking of the games at Tilt...
BK and SW are growing on me. You have to really maintain control on those, and misses make you pay.
GOTG is essentially the same game as Aerosmith. Different layout, but really, the same game in terms of modes, objectives, features, multiballs, etc.
Iron Maiden loves me and I seem to shred it pretty consistently. I've even gotten tired of playing it a couple times -- despite how much fun it is to play.
Beatles, well, I haven't reached even half of the GC score (it's a real score) and I have no idea how they got that much. (>5 Million)
I'll probably spend a little time down there this afternoon -- and try to help the noobs when I can.
After my vacation, I'll do some thinking/research on that. Never hosted nor organized a tourney. Let alone one in this sort of environment. Will be interesting to see if anyone shows up.
I'm really missing seeing Da Shed today. Planned to come, but then didn't get in from Maine till late last night and luggage still not arrived. Grrr....
Have fun and post pics!
I'll take an XXL camp and XXL t-shirt please!
Maybe I can get Monroe embroidered on there if/when the time comes!
I still need that email you talked about please Pinball-is-great
Quoted from Jodester:Yes. In Lake Charles at my place this year.
Great! Looking forward to seeing it!
Found another pin in the wild in Monroe! https://www.facebook.com/BackYard-Axe-Throwing-West-Monroe-106574530769160/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARC_Ifw2Xlmfzij9Tlxhysl3Nk_dt_F66VxFTYPYLMl5QhqY2r72UlzPAn4aqWVyBgtkfrF1jwRsNv9U
Needs a flipper rebuild, but anyway, added to the map!
Well, it's not a tournament, but Tilt and I are putting on this event tomorrow night!
https://www.facebook.com/events/808513382898666/
Just trying to build some interest/involvement, teach some basics, and help folks enjoy pinball more!
We had a dozen at the Pinball 101 event last night. A couple familiar faces and many new ones. No pinball newbies. Everyone was a player, and we had a great time! Tilt let me open up a machine for those who'd not seen a modern machine, gave us play cards, and didn't nag us when we realized we were still playing past closing time! More events to come!
2 (resized).jpg3 (resized).jpg4 (resized).jpg5 (resized).jpgQuoted from Pinball-is-great:Did you teach the NE LA pinball players how to do slide saves and slap saves, or is that gonna be in the 102 class?
Did they get to see you get pissed and tilt machine and lose your end of ball bonus?
Oh wait, I guess Preston or TigerLaw can teach that technique.
HAHAHA
Just in case anyone wondered if the monthly TWIP drawings are for real... YUP! November winner right here! $100 at PinSound!
Suggestions? Other than actual balls, Pinsound doesn't seem to have anything for Spike systems. The only compatible (Whitestar) I have is NASCAR, and honestly, I'm not interested in hearing that pin any better!
I don't think I know the folks who were going to host on Sunday. But I hope and pray they're not facing something tragic.
My son and I are still in for Saturday. We planned to stay in LC and play Sunday too. So, if Sunday's "mimosa tourney" gets moved to another location rather than canceled... that's fine with us! (and I told Pinball-is-great the same.) Either way though, I understand.
Nevus I'm sorry you can't make it to LC. Thanks for reaching out to me about the shirts, and thanks for all you've done and are doing with those!
I'm sorry, but I'm ignorant of all things Rick and Morty. I'll learn through pinball. One of y'all buy it when it comes out!
BDClark You there Sunday? I, and Tilt's main tech, Jacob, looked at it on Saturday noon-ish. He's been struggling with it for some time. The plug/jack/cable on one particular node board is being a flake. We did a bunch of wiggling, re-seating, etc, and it was working like a champ when I left on Saturday. Looks like we need to do some more stress testing....
Can't wait to play Nevus !
Had great pinball day today. Met a couple new players at Tilt. Talked to the manager about tourneys. He says Tilt pays for the games (yay!), but couldn't say whether the area would be "roped off" or what. Their "event person" is still trying to get info from other locations etc. Sigh.
My friend JON had reclaimed GC on IMDN with like 310M. So I walked up, and reclaimed with 422M.
Then, a couple good games later... SHREDDED it for 897Mil!!!
God knew I needed a win today.
IMDN1 (resized).jpgIMDN2 (resized).jpgIMDN3 (resized).jpgQuoted from PoBoyPinball:Work has messed up LC League play for me
Yeah, work sucks. But it pays for machines!
Quoted from Jodester:Any interest in a Simpsons Pinball Party? Going to move it for something new...
Wanna swap back Aerosmith? I think I actually would.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:I think the name of the place my pin landed in is called Hooligans.
I heard Hooligans has a Truck Stop. That the one?
Quoted from Jodester:I can offer a 20 pack of Charmin
Be careful flashing cash around this bunch of thugs, Jodester!
I might be shopping NASCAR this weekend/week. DP and Aerosmith already done.
Anybody else "quarancleaning" out there?
You're up early Jodester !
The Beatles at Tilt was kinda growing on me. Cool game.
Good luck with the T-Rex ramp. I'm sure you'll make it right.
I've been working from home for almost 10 years now, so the stay at home order doesn't/didn't affect me as much as other folks.
Still... the world will never be the same, and I can't say that'll be a COMPLETELY bad thing.
Quoted from Bfults:Good Stuff, some old school fun! Pulled the lighting board last weekend to replace a few Transistors and Thyristors that were stopping the lights from working properly. All good now!
Board work! Go man go! Been a couple years for me, but love it! (when it works)
Hi friends! It's Monday. It's been (pretty much) a year with the same games. So....
Time for a swap! Temp or perm. NASCAR and Aerosmith are up for grabs!
Ok, stop that NASCAR grumbling. I have zero love for the sport, but really, this game is a lot of fun -- and this one is nice nice.
Specifics are available for anyone who doesn't already know these games' history or their awesome current condition and fun factor. Swap with confidence!
Happy to wear a mask, disinfect, whatever!
Talk to me, y'all!
60631590_3216242931734993_8012658715033337856_n (resized).jpgI want to play! Cherie and I finally watched the show. We binged during this, uh, whatever you want to call it. I want to play!
Quoted from TigerLaw:Any cool pinball things happening for the members of the group this weekend?
Weekend almost gone. Did manage to fix a launcher issue on NASCAR tho. Slo-mo on the iPhone really helped.
Tilt Studio in Monroe reopened yesterday... BUT THE PINBALLS ARE GONE!
They were all moved 2 weeks ago to the new location opening in Rockford, IL.
Sad sad sad. Maybe when Surge opens, they'll have some, but I'm not betting on it.
Arcade
Yeah, the writing was on the wall. Hard to support that many pins in a non-metropolitan, non-progressive area enamored with redemption games.
I was hoping we'd at least get a chance to purchase before they jerked em out.
BDClark
Sean (Manager) said it was Stern who came and did the actual physical moving and hauling. And that Stern planned to do updates and "even fix that thing with Star Wars."
EasternBloc wondered if Tilt was going to change their name. LOL
Quoted from Jodester:I unfortunately put a larger mini split than I needed.(3 ton for 729 square feet game room)
But it sure was nice and cool in there!
We are booked at the Drury Inn for TPF 2021 !!
Embassy is *completely* booked.
I don't know how many of y'all "qualify," but the Senior Rate at the Drury (which is a GREAT hotel btw) was far better than using the TPF group code. And provided more room options, too.
We are now officially looking forward to TPF 2021 !!
Man! This thread has been quiet. Y'all okay?
I'm picking up a nice Stern JP Pro Thursday! As much as she loves JP Pro, Cherie says I can't keep 4 pins for very long.
So, gonna list my blinged out Nascar but wanted to float it here first -- hoping to keep it "in the area." (I'll be happy do donate fee to robin if it sells.)
PinStadium lights. Added cars. Extra translite, plastics, and drop targets. Mostly LEDs. Under-cab lighting. Lighted flipper buttons. Clean, really nice, well-maintained, and works 100% of course!
$3000 pretty firm. PM me -- and let's get some Redneck in your collection! LOL It really is a fun game!
1 (resized).jpg2 (resized).jpg3 (resized).jpg5 (resized).jpg6 (resized).jpg7 (resized).jpg8 (resized).jpg
Quoted from Rougarou:Sorry scottslash, NASCAR theme doesn’t appeal to me right now but the game looks great!
Thanks! Good luck with your quest. Something is sure to pop up with a little patience!
Blinged out Jurassic Park Pro joins the lineup! Thanks marioparty34 ! And now I have a place to put the autographed translite I won! Great game!
Quoted from Jodester:I love my JP pro. It gets most of the plays in the games room even after a few months of ownership. Once I fixed the ramp opto issue and the sticking Jeep issue, my game plays great.
We are LOVING this JP Pro. Mine was a November 2019 build.
I'm seeing no issues at all. (Other than my struggling to make the shots!)
No jeep stick. No loose post by upper flipper. Not aware of a ramp opto issue. (But I'm only on page 25 of 124 in owners thread LOL).
SOOOO looking forward to some gatherings!
TSPP still going strong?
Quoted from Bfults:Just have to decide if I’m going to take the day off or not!
Oh heck yeah!
Naturally, I will be on the road returning from a vacation on 10/3. So, unable to come. Sure miss y'all. Have fun!
I read about the event and put Jan 23 on my calendar. Looking forward to seeing y'all! It's been far too long!
Quoted from Nevus:Mike will have details on the events page.
I plan to come, and am currently ranked number 24. I assume I qualify? Either way... Gotten many responses? Pinball-is-great ?
Understood Pinball-is-great .
Yeah, the event info could use an update. It talks about sending invitations, bracketing, etc. Might need to dial that back a bunch.
Non-IFPA is fine, and AFAIC I just want to get together and play! Tourney or not. We can always make side bets. LOL
Thanks for all you do! And I can't wait to try some different machines! (oh, and see all of y'all)
Nevus Pinball-is-great and the rest of you great folks... As much as I long to come, I'm chickening out.
I know folks will hopefully be wearing masks and trying to social distance, but I'm not comfortable enough yet to venture into a large gathering of folks not already in my family circle. It sucks. But with the rise and the new strain, I'm not gonna push my luck.
Players, consider yourselves lucky I'm not gonna be there. heh heh heh
Best of luck to all, stay safe, and I wanna see pictures!
Quoted from TigerLaw:What is everyone’s current Stern lineup in the Gulf Coast thread?
We were in California for a cousin's memorial when Ida hit. We delayed our return because of it. Monroe was spared. No power outages even. Wishing a speedy recovery for those not so fortunate.
Played a little pinball while in L.A. Neon Retro Arcade in Pasadena has a The Mandalorian (Pro) It was fun, but the assembly at the top of the main ramp had a busted weld, and metal was blocking making the ramp. Frustrating. Other than that, it shot pretty smooth!
#aerosmith-pro gone. Avengers: Infinity Quest (pro) in!
Thanks Nelsonford218 ulmpharmd !
AIQ (resized).jpglineup (resized).jpgHi y'all!
There's a location in West Monroe that's agreed to let the Mayor (a friend) place a coin-op there to raise money/donations for a civic project. The location is a family-friendly brewery/restaurant and they are not looking for a cut. So, she's looking for something she can buy (or borrow). I talked her out of Skee-Ball and suggested a *video* would be the easiest, most reliable way to go.
And yes, I'm *considering* letting one of my pins be in there, but I'm understandably hesitant.
I humbly ask... Does anyone have any good vids to sell (or borrow) that could raise some $? Or know someone I can contact in the area?
DM, text, here, whatever. TIA, Scott
Quoted from Nevus:I’d love to sell my Centipede.
I have $600 in it. It’s not pretty, but it works.
I’ll let it go for $500 if they want it.
Thanks! I'll let her know.
It was a great time and great competition! Thank you for opening your home and being such gracious hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone!
Quoted from TigerLaw:Three BSD’s in the collection at the same time…all three set up and playing great.
Not sure what to think about that.
Quoted from Dent00:The nice pinball machines were in a locked room with a key code entry
Weird. Even with millennials there.
Spent a few hours at PHOF in Vegas, and spoke to Tim timarnold for a few minutes.
Yeah, many of the machines were turned off. But many many many more were good to play. Including The Mandalorian (Pro), Godzilla (Pro), and Rush (Pro).
I saw at least a couple techs trying to work on things, but sheeeeesh what a job. It was a Tuesday afternoon/evening, and even then, there were LOTS of folks playing and the coin-drop looked pretty great!
Tim said his biggest challenges are keeping more machines in service, negotiating additional parking, and a property line problem the lawyers and insurance company are hashing out.
I've been to Vegas 3 times and visited the PHOF in a different location each time. This is their final location according to Tim, and I believe it.
They've done quite a job here, and BRAVO! Bitch if you like, but first, try to accomplish all this yourself!
PHOF is becoming an EVEN MORE must-see attraction in Vegas for ALL. Not just us pinheads! Thank you timarnold !
phof-front (resized).jpgtim-and-scott-at-phof (resized).jpgQuoted from Nevus:Looks like a great time. Congratulations to the winners. I miss seeing all of you.
Ditto! Hoping to be able to make one soon.
Quoted from EasternBloc:Just a reminder, Lake Monster Madness is next Saturday, the 17th! Full details on the event listing:
https://pinside.com/pinball/events/lake-monster-madness-2022
All are welcome, I'll have gumbo and some other treats in the kitchen for all who make the journey to the most rural pinball collection in the state.
Love those trophies! Wish I could be there. You and Vaughn are wonderful hosts!
We have church cantata Sunday afternoon/evening. Never been to Wayback and need to get down there! Good luck to the players.
Just booked TPF! Exhibiting AIQ Pro. Will be for sale, and I'll be looking to buy/trade. Who's going?
Yeah, I've been a bit of a ghost. There's been so much NON-pinball for me these days. But I miss y'all so much!
All this talk and activity with the LA and MS state championships is making me kinda sad.
Am committed to making at least a couple events in 2023. (And kickin' yall's butts btw!) LOL
Really, just hoping to get back in the swing and playin with y'all again! See you at TPF 2023!
Quoted from Nevus:I am brining my Centigrade 37 and Astro to exhibit at TPF this year. Kim Vanderveen has always been kind enough to provide a space for our small club and friends to have games. If you would like our games grouped together, please add the following to your listing to assist her in setting aside some space.
(Exhibitor Display Name: ArkLaTex Pinball Club)
I already registered my AIQ Pro, and just reached out to Kim to have it added/changed to ArkLaTex Pinball Club!
I'm trying to figure out how to add this to my Pinside Collection. LOL
Yup. I built one of those ROKR wooden pinball kits. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/rokr-pinball-machine- I've built a bunch of these models, and this one took about 15 hours. Pretty cool really.
100's of jokes to be made: No, I'm not putting Titans on it... The rules aren't very deep... Waiting for code updates... No tilt or glass -- so that's cool...
If Pinside would let me post videos same as photos I'd letcha see it in action!
But honestly, these ROKR and UGEARS kits are great if you like fine detail work and putting things together like I do.

LOL Thank goodness!
Keeping Jody’s tourney as a possibility. Man, I hope I can make it!
In the meantime, I just closed a deal on a sweet Champion Pub! Getting the room back to 3. Picking up Sunday!
#champion-pub is in the house! Really nice and I’ll be making it even better. Thanks Sylwood2 ! Pleasure meeting you and Kristen.

Quoted from Nevus:Congratulations!
That’s such a fun game.
Quoted from ulmpharmd:Super cool game Scott! Congrats
Quoted from Jodester:Congrats Scott on the new game.
Thanks y'all. Gonna be a hit with the visitors, family, and other newbs for sure! And I'm diggin it too!
Getting serious now! Ready to install the TiltGraphics pin blades when they arrive. SO much easier with the playfield out.
Already cleaned and waxed PF, cleaned inserts & lightboards, rebuilt a noisy gearbox, lotsa stuff.
ColorDMD and a few other parts & LEDs arriving soon.
I'm in my happy place.
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:LA Open Pinball Tournament 2023 was held in Lake Charles, LA, on Sat July 1st.
Hated missing that one! Great bunch of folks!
Great gathering, hosts, players, and helpers! Made it home around 10, so I'm *glad* I didn't make the finals in the main. Thanks for everything!
Quoted from Mudflaps:Scott looks pretty happy playing that Catacomb
I was! Would love to learn the nuances of that one!
Quoted from EasternBloc:Been changing up the collection a bit and excited to put some new games in competition.
Wow, you *have* made some changes! Looking forward to it! Can't make the event at Bfults in August because it's our Fantasy Draft night.
Quoted from TigerLaw:That game is significantly heavier than a Stern.
Why is that? I've never had a JJP, and it isn't widebody, so I'm curious.
Congrats on the new game!
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:Mudflaps thank you for your service enjoy your retirement.
Could not have said it better myself. Thanks Kyle! And thanks to 2 fine Americans for representing!
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:Going to try out the NVRAM Weebly MPU
Cool! What are you putting it in?
It was a fun time, and crazy competition! Top 3 finishers were the 10th, 12th, and 14th seeds! Congrats to @poboypinball, and big thanks for being a great host!
Thanks for posting Pinball-is-great
For those visiting or passing through Monroe, LA, I found THREE location machines today!
I guess Robin needs to review my submissions before they show up on the map, but they are:
--> Magic Grill on 18th St. -- Foo Fighters Pro
--> Blend Daiquiris Bar -- Venom Pro (Yours truly got a modest GC score.)
--> Shananigans -- Deadpool Pro (Didn't visit. I was told it's there.)
Let's hope they stick around. I'm told we have Dennis Ludwig to thank!

I'm trying to connect with him via a couple of avenues. It's time for NELA to get things moving! And I want to help however I can.
Welcome, Craig ScoobaDoo ! Thanks for moving beyond lurking! We have a sweet group of guys and gals here, and y'all getting involved will be a blessing for everyone. Attend, network, learn, and enjoy. Ask questions. Do only what you're comfortable with. I'm sure I speak for all when I say I look forward to meeting and your wife, getting to know you, and playing some pinball!
Quoted from Bfults:Heads up, if you not to wore out from TPF and looking for something to do on March 23rd, I'm having my Spring Tournament.
Wish I could, Brian. Gonna be in Branson for a week. And checking out https://1984bransonarcade.com/ while I'm there!
My experience is folks are pretty cool at TPF. Never had anything lifted, swiped, etc. Maybe I'm lucky. Y'all have?
Quoted from Jodester:Congrats to Paul for winning the Marsh Madness tourney today. It was his first tournament win and awesome since he hosted the event.
I hated missing that one. But DID get to do some Insider Connect location play today. Convinced me to bite the bullet and ordered IC kits for my home games today!
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:Couldn’t make TPF as I’m in Jersey working but found a place with about 15 pins wouldn’t you know the modern one was out of order.
You like the older ones anyway!
In Jersey. On the pinmaps, yes?
Pinmaps make a difference. I found out a couple from Florida stopped at one of our Monroe locations on their way to TPF -- because they saw it on pinmap. Very cool. And they said the games played great! (I'm helping the operator keep them that way, and loving it!)

And welcome back to everyone returning from TPF. Looks like I missed a good one. Let's see some more pix!
