Awesome post Tiger. Pinside Gold quality.
I like your vision for Lake Charles in this regard.

I would like his vision better if it were on the east side of Louisiana instead.

Hey guys I’m selling my Walking Dead I bought NIB about 4 years ago. Still looks mint and plays perfectly, it has art blades, shaker, and a few tasteful mods done to it. Looking for $5,000. Not sure how many plays it has

Damn, if they’d give us another one of those juicy covid cooties stimulus checks I might have to take a look at this.

    Quoted from Rougarou:

Question for those with detached buildings that house their machines:
I’m taking an outdoor shed down to the studs and reinsulating/sealing. I want to use this space as a workshop for pinball machines projects.
What are recommendations and advice for temperature/humidity control, temperature settings during summer or winter, or other tips to prevent damage to the machines?
Thanks in advance. The joys of pinball down on near the Gulf.

I did this. Regular home insulation, sheet rocked, then I put in a mini split AC. Works extremely well, been running three years, keeps the air nice and dry. The AC cost me $1200 and I installed myself. All the AC guys wanted around $6k.

Kids were scared but it wasn’t that bad here. Probably 70mph winds. Water is up a couple feet high in my yard, we can’t get out yet. Generators going, plenty of gas, just hope I don’t run out of beer.

    Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

Where did you go in Phoenix? I’ve recently been to Electric Bat Arcade (showed up on league night open tournament...I was welcomed with open arms and had a blast. Very interesting “three-bar” setup and a dark, dive atmosphere. Great game variety and all games playing great) and Stardust Pinbar (felt like I was going into an old fashioned speakeasy that was techno of steroids inside! Lots of college co-eds coming and going. The wings were excellent!)[quoted image][quoted image]

No assholes? Must not be many pinball players in there

Hey gang I'm thinking of going to Houston Arcade Expo... think it's worth the trip from New Orleans? I've never been to any pin shows.

Are there usually project games and parts for sale? I'm on the hunt for a donor WPC game for my MM build, so that would be a bonus if there's a chance to snag one.

    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Sure you don't mean TPF in March?

Houston Arcade Expo is not until November.
    www.arcadecenter.com
Yes! I recommend both pin shows. Both are a blast for different reasons.

I’d love to go to TPF but the wife is too pregnant and I hate to leave her.

Quoted from Dent00:Lots of millennials there playing sophisticated video games.

    Quoted from Dent00:

Not sure why they had to lock them up.

The answer was right in your own post

    #5493 2 years ago
    Quoted from Dent00:

The really weird part was that all the video games in the place were on free play with a $7 cover, unless you bought an alcoholic beverage.
I don't drink, but when I told the guy at the door that I had come specifically to play Rush, he let me in with no cover.
The pinball machines were $1 per play in a locked room with a number code entry on the door.
Two machines not in the locked room were in the bar area and they were also $1 per play.

What you missed was the second locked room behind a secret door in the first locked room.

    Quoted from Nevus:

Lots of new games coming out.
What are you hoping to get?
    Scooby Doo
    Foo Fighters
    Godfather
    Galactic Tank Force
    Final Resistance (P3)
    Pulp Fiction
Non of the Above (Richard Pryor's pick )
Most or all of these will be available to play at the Texas Show.

I'm in on a Foo Fighters Premium! I don't ever buy before playing but it's been a tough year so I'm rolling the dice.

    #5723 1 year ago

Also, can anyone recommend a good dealer in driving distance. I only know of one but they seem a bit deceptive at times so I'm shopping around.
