I know I'm late posting but I wanted to thank Josh for hosting a great tournament, Mike for running it, and everyone else that was involved. Glad everyone that came from out of state, decided to make the drive. It was not fun getting in at 1:30 (especially for Kevin since he was driving ) but, it was well worth it. I didn't do as well as in the tournament as I would have liked but I always enjoy talking and visiting and meeting new people as much or more than the tourney. Hope I can see you all again on the 13th.

But holy hell, that thing is crazy loud and shakes your fillings out. Lol
It will be for sale soon as I have a normal Pinball life shaker on the way.

Get you one of these and put on that Cointaker motor. I put one on my TWD and it made all the difference in the world. Now I can adjust it to whatever intensity I want.

These things keep managing to find a way into may vehicle also. I'll post some more pics later when I get it setup. Not a title I was looking for but I couldn't pass on it for the price and the shape it was in.

Hey guys, new to the scene, up in North LA. Took the family to the TPF this past weekend, it was great. Hope to meet you guys soon...

Welcome Jamie! Glad to have you here. I wish I could have met you at TPF. I am from the Jackson, MS area and there is not much going on here with pinball but I hope to change that soon. I come to LA for pinball events a good bit, so I hope to meet you soon.

I thought I would post a few pics of my gameroom building project. It seems like it has taken forever to get to this point because of one thing or another (Why are building projects such a headache?) It will probably be slow, but hopefully steady, for the rest of it because I am trying to do as much of it myself as I can. I hope to start having some Mississippi tournaments and maybe even a league when it is finished.

Is that a 3 ton mini-split unit on the wall for cooling? I went 3 ton and it's too much. I should have gone smaller.

The condenser is a 3 ton unit. I have it split into 2 tons for the main room and 1 ton in the workshop.

    Quoted from PoBoyPinball:

Is 2 ton of AC big enough for that space.

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

Now that the cost of solar panels and batteries has come down a lot in the past few years, at some point in future you may want to add some of that.

What a great day of pinball! We had an awesome turnout and a lot of fun. Thank you so much for those who could make it and I hope the other can make it next time. Thanks to Mike for being the tournament director for our first tournament and Chris for all the help with score keeping and Cody and Josh for helping keep the machines running smoothly. All and all, I think it went pretty smoothly with minimal issues. We had a lot of first timers to the tournament scene and that was great. I'm already looking forward to the state championship next month.

I posted this on the Dirty South Pinball Facebook page but I know not all of you are members so I thought I would repost here just in case anybody is interested.

    Hey everyone,

I hope you had a great Labor day weekend! I am planing to have a run of t shirts done soon. They will be similar, but not exactly the same, to the sample ones we had made that you may have seen some of us wearing at one of the tournaments. Also, the shirt color or colors have not been decided. Best guess on price will be between $15 and $18 for S,M,L and XL and a couple bucks more for XXL and XXXL. If you think you might like one, post here or send me a private message with the size you would want.

***This in no way obligates you to get one, I am just trying to get an idea of how many to order and how many of each size.***

I will post the proofs of the new shirt when I get them from the printer.

No problem at all. Just wondering if there was an issue. I was kinda hoping they got lost because my performance in the pingolf could only bring my ranking down.

I go with color matching for inserts except for orange and yellow I use white. As far as GI is concerned I usually go with frosted lens white. For backbox I usually go with mostly natural white and use some color where it matches the graphics. You really just have to experiment with the backbox and see what looks good. I have been buying strictly Comet Pinball bulbs as of the past few of years. They have good quality and prices they also have great black Friday sales and I usually stock up then. I have also purchased Cointaker bulbs in the past and they seem to be fine also I just like Comet better.

Soooooo... is the Houston show still happening? The website www.arcadecenter.com has only info about the 2019 show on it. Hey everyone,

My buddy Kevin has his Star Wars Pro for sale. It is HUO with low plays and he is the original owner. He has also purchased several hundreds in add-ons that would go with it. Such as Lightsaber flipper toppers, airball protector, spinner seals, Deathstar laser, insert gels, lighted Millennium Falcon mod, plastics protectors, playfield monitor bezel and more. He is asking $5000 for it. I can bring it to Chris' on the 23rd if anyone would like to purchase it. Feel free to text or call if interested.

It’s been a while since we have had an event and I am ready to see everyone again and meet those I haven’t met yet. So, we are planning to have a little get together on Feb. 27th. I will probably run a cash tournament if you would like to enter. Probably a $10 buy in with cash going to the top three. If you’re not feeling like a tournament, you are still welcome to just come play, visit and eat. If you are comfortable coming, we would love to see you but, if not, we understand. We will have plenty of hand sanitizer available. I plan on smoking chicken and will have some chips and dip. Bring your beverage of choice and any side dish or snacks or dessert you would like to share. The game room will be open at 11:00 and I will start the tournament at 12:30pm. We Hope to see you there!

Holy cow pinball friends! The used/flip game market has gone crazy in the last few weeks. I love looking at games to buy as much as anyone, but my inner rational person says don’t even think about it for 6 months.
When GNR arrives (pre-increase order), I’ll open up the game room for some fun if anyone wants to come visit.

Thank you and I'll probably take you up on that offer. I'm glad you are getting one. I was going to purchase the LE, but I guess I waited too long. Now I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger with the $1000 price hike. So, I guess I'll just have to play yours

Foo Fighters looks very cool and it is extremely tempting. I love the look of Scooby but I would definitely have to play it a while first as spooky titles are hit or miss with me. Godfather is not a theme I care about and the prices on JJP games are more than I would pay anyway. Once you pass the 4 figure mark I'm out. I'm interested to see GTF, it could be awesome or could be awful but I do love the build quality of AP games. Don't care for P3 games too much. Pulp Fiction is a theme that I would like but who knows.

Anyway, I just got my notification today that my GZ premium is ready to ship so unless I move some other titles, I am probably out of the new machine club for a bit...probably...maybe

    Quoted from TigerLaw:

How was the hotel? Was it too crowded? Are they for sure staying in the same hotel for next year?

The hotel itself was fine. I like the hotel but we have been there several years now and you can tell it is getting older in some ways. It could use a bit of revamping in some areas. I enjoy the breakfast and cocktail hour in the evenings. I also like the proximity of the gameroom to the rooms so you can bop back up if you need to for a quick rest or if you forgot something.

I am not sure what the status of the venue for next year is. There is a thread on facebook that started with what seemed to be a rude troll post but has sparked a long discussion about the size of the convention center and if they have outgrown it. Personally, I think it was a large crowd, especially Saturday, but I did not ever think it was so overcrowded that is was uncomfortable. I also believe part of the reason the crowd was larger was the unprecedented amount of new games that debuted here this year.

In my opinion, if a few things were done to change up the main room, it would be just fine. I don't want all of this to sound like I am complaining. I had a wonderful time! One of the best years ever. These are just some things I believe would make the show even better.

I have said in the past that I think it would be a lot better if all of the vendors had a separate room from the main gameroom. I love looking at all the products and parts and everything to buy, but I hate having try and discuss things with vendors and yell at them and strain to hear their answer in the very loud gameroom. Also, I find it hard to see all the vendors because of the floor layout and maze of games. Many times I found after returning home that some seller was there that I wanted to purchase from but never saw the booth. If they were all together in another room, it would make more space in the gameroom and be much easier to visit all the vendors.

This brings me to another point about the gameroom. I think it could be worlds improved if it were laid out better. There are way too many bottlenecks and odd choices that do not flow well at all. This may be in part to the vendors being in there and that would solve two problems by moving them (less space taken up and less people because a number would be in the other room). I go to SFGE every year and feel the floor layout is great. I never feel blocked it or stuck somewhere and have to walk around 5 booths to get to the next row of games.

Also, the load in and out situation is SO much better at the SFGE hotel. I know this is nothing the TPF organizers can change but the load out is pretty terrible. Load in is ok because it is spread out over about two days but everyone trying to load up and leave at the same time through the two truck max roll up door with a street right outside the door instead of a parking lot or open area, is a major cluster. We started breaking down my machines at 2:00 but didn't pull out of the hotel until 5:30 and I have a 7+ hour trip ahead of me. This really makes you want to say forget it about bringing games next time. Again, no fault of the TPF organizers just a terrible design of the hotel.

Again, I enjoyed myself immensely and will be back next year. I just hope they can maybe put some of these things in motion so it will be an even more enjoyable show.

    Sorry for the long diatribe.

I posted on the Dirty South Facebook page but I forgot some folks don't do FB. The original post is below. Let me know soon if you want one because the order for the first round is going to be turned in in a few days.

We finally got some shirts done that we are satisfied with (for now anyway). I think they turned out very nice. The shirt has a small upper left logo on the front and and full back logo. We can do pretty much any shirt color that is available, as long as it doesn't clash or match the logo color (red for example). They are $20 each. If you would like one, PM me your size and color preference. I will notify you when the order is ready and you can pick it up or get it at the next tournament. We can also ship if needed. If that's the case, just indicate it in your PM and I will get back to you with the shipping cost. We can accept Paypal, Cashapp, or Venmo for payment.
