    Quoted from TigerLaw:

pavball and I enjoyed our fifth year wedding anniversary last night. Covid-19 had us enjoy it at hone with Netflix and pinball.

    Congratulations!

ulmpharmd makes a pretty compelling argument. I think it's time to get an Escalera.

TigerLaw so how big is this new game room in the new house?

It looks the same size as mine minus the walls for closet and bathroom.

Nice looking forward to when we can all get together and pinball again, tourney, league or just hang out.

Yea, I think the feeling is 12 machines fit really comfortably in the game room and 15 can be squeezed in if we block the windows. We will keep two games down stairs (Varkon and Target Alpha) in other places in the house where they kind of fit spots. So we will only have ten machines from the house to move (+ whatever new games we grab to replace the sold games).

I ordered the escalara today from ZMeny , he was super helpful and generous with his time. Good distributor to deal with for sure.

Any new games in the group?

Maybe we need to have a Zoom online tourney on machines that we share. Any takers?

    #4708 3 years ago

No new games, but trading with Tiger soon for temps.

    #4709 3 years ago

I'm in for virtual tourney. As soon as I get my ramps lighted on my Tron Legacy Pro, I'll be set!

    Hey Boys and Girls

I still have shirts from the fall of last year. Both Greg and Alex have camp shirts reserved and are still here with me.

The camp shirts are gone, but I do have more t-shirts. Tiger and I will be making a trade next week. If you want to get one at that time, PM me so we can arrange it.

I would be up for this! Give me a call later and let’s discuss how this would work.

Some pinball photos from the machine moves last week. Goodbye TWD LE and AFM SE. As a related aside, just received the check for X-Men LE today and it’ll leave next week. Big collection changes for when we move to the new pinball pad.

Nevus You rock! I spoke with TigerLaw and he kindly agreed to pick up the shirt on my behalf.

    #4714 3 years ago

Yep, Josh, Wendell and I are driving to Shreveport Saturday to swap BM66 for DI. Really looking forward to the road trip! I need to pick up a shirt for Greg as well.

    #4715 3 years ago

Had a wonderful time on the trip to meet up with Nevus Low traffic, great weather, phenomenal food waiting for us, great company, fun pinball.

    Some photos from the day:

I knew both you guys would enjoy the temp trade.

    #4718 3 years ago

Hi friends! It's Monday. It's been (pretty much) a year with the same games. So....

Time for a swap! Temp or perm. NASCAR and Aerosmith are up for grabs!

Ok, stop that NASCAR grumbling. I have zero love for the sport, but really, this game is a lot of fun -- and this one is nice nice.

Specifics are available for anyone who doesn't already know these games' history or their awesome current condition and fun factor. Swap with confidence!

Happy to wear a mask, disinfect, whatever!

    Talk to me, y'all!

I can vouch that scottslash is a good dude to swap games with, for anyone looking for a reference.

Hi folks, friend of the family in Baton Rouge is trying to get a pin for an anniversary gift. They looked on ebay first, fortunately that got to me, so I squashed the 4500 Evel Knievel buy...

That said - anyone have a pin for sale or know of a retailer in/near central LA I can send them to? Feel free to pm me if you prefer. I don't know the answers to the obvious questions (which pin, whats their budget, etc) right now - just trying to get a feel for what might be out there.

    Thanks

    Marc in Houston

There are always games for sale with this group. I’d avoid the retail operations entirely, too expensive and not as good of quality as buying from a collector. Reach out to Jodester and he may be able to refer you to what’s for sale right now. Of course, consider grabbing one of scottslash ’s games identified above (areosmith or nascar).

    #4723 3 years ago

well crap. Family friend in in Baton Rouge - anniversary people are in South Carolina. In my best Gilda Radner voice - 'never mind'.

thanks anyway - hope all our crawfish eating pinball neighbors are doing well, and hope someday soon we can all gather again for some beer and pinball.

Stranger Things Premium in the House!

I totally went for this out of left field. I’ve never played it until I unboxed it.

This game is really fun and and the whole package for me. It really captures the license. The ST theme plays as you start a ball and build up.

The projector is really well done and can be adjusted to fine tune the images etc.

It’s hard to capture in pictures, but it has a 90s BW feel to it like Brian Eddy mentioned in his recent stern insider interview. The inserts are all labeled in the old style with less “shoot the lights” like Star Trek. Clearly it’s modeled in the vein of MM and AFM 8’ both layout and progression.

I’m really happy with this one. UV kit on the way.
    Here’s a few pics.

    Quoted from Nevus:

I think the projector is easily one of the coolest innovations in pinball in recent memory. The initial release at CES didn’t demonstrate it very well but everyone who sees it in person is super impressed. Glad you are getting the UV kit, really can’t wait to see and play this game.

    #4727 3 years ago

Stranger Things update. New code 0.90, UV kit installed and outlines narrowed.
Each game is more fun. I think it’s time for side blades and a shaker!

I think it would be fine. The theme is dark, so I thought the forest ones would look pretty cool. I can't copy the picture, but here is the link.

That place has a lot of great mods. Never been to that site before. Very well priced art blades and they even have the eyeball shooter rod for TZ...I may need to grab one of those at some point.

Thank you so much for coming by today and helping to get things sorted out. We appreciate you!!

We look forward to the day we can restart the league and have a tournament or two. We have fun things planned.

TPF announced the event dates for March 2021. We tried to book a room but they are not accepting bookings at this time. We absolutely will plan to attend TPF next year.

Anyone have any fun pinball stuff Or machine moves happening this weekend?

    #4734 3 years ago

^^ Traded TWD for ACDC Luci Vault. I loved having TWD, but good lord that game is brutal. And Luci is easier on the eyes than severed zombie heads in a fish tank.

I also added 5” speakers and grill cutouts to BKSOR. Highly recommended and gives it that ‘LE look’ without the LE price.

Now I need to figure out what color powdercoat goes on Elvira. I have two red trim games, so I’m trying to stay away from red. Maybe black or green?

Ah, a rare re-purchase of a game you previously had. Jodester upgraded his to a premium as well.

Funny enough, I previously owned TWD Pro and upgraded. Same thing now with ACDC, but I’m still a staunch ACDC Pro defender.

Re: Elvira, purple is a great idea!

Greg, Wendell and I had a fun trip driving to Shreveport a little more than a week ago to pick up a couple new games to replenish the collection after selling or trading five games.

The face Jodester and PavBall made when they cut the strap was hilarious and I caught it on camera.

Both games are playing incredible! I find it kind of funny that they are both the third game in their respective series being made by an entirely company than the one that did the first two for each of them. We can’t wait till the next pinball event in Lake Charles.

Quite a bit of pinball things this weekend. Paul and Jody came up Friday and dropped off Hot Shot got it figured out and fixed today it was for sure challenging. Also went to look at several project games Saturday made a offer got shot down but will keep in contact maybe still able to make a deal. As you can see did end up with a cigarette machine and got some other Goodies.

Tilt Studio in Monroe reopened yesterday... BUT THE PINBALLS ARE GONE!

They were all moved 2 weeks ago to the new location opening in Rockford, IL.

Sad sad sad. Maybe when Surge opens, they'll have some, but I'm not betting on it.

It is indeed sad that they pulled them out.
But I kinda of figured it was only a matter of time.
With my town being over twice the size of Monroe and having it's own Tilt Studios, there is still no way it would support a large pinball area.
Trust me we have tried over and over. Just doesn't work.
Even the super large towns don't often support them enough. ie Balls of Steel in Dallas.
But hey, at least we get to enjoy each others homes and great collections.
