Just in case anyone wondered if the monthly TWIP drawings are for real... YUP! November winner right here! $100 at PinSound!

Suggestions? Other than actual balls, Pinsound doesn't seem to have anything for Spike systems. The only compatible (Whitestar) I have is NASCAR, and honestly, I'm not interested in hearing that pin any better!

    Soon...

The site hosts for the planned Sunday event have texted me and said they need to cancel the Sunday tourney for several very unfortunate last minute reasons.

I’ll reach out to our IFPA rep pinball-is-great after work today and see if we have any options to change the location or just cancel the Sunday event entirely.

The Saturday event remains unchanged. I’ll post more this evening. Thanks.

    #4305 4 years ago

It was the unlimited mimosa budget I bet.

    #4306 4 years ago

I've had an unexpected complication and wont be able to make it to the Romp Saturday.
My wife is going out of town and I have some kids activities to assist.
    I will miss you all.

I have shirts for a few of you planning to attend. I'll be happy to ship them if you like, just send me a PM and we can work out shipping and payment.

Also, I still have t-shirts in Large, X-Large and XX-Large if anyone is interested. $25

    #4307 4 years ago

I don't think I know the folks who were going to host on Sunday. But I hope and pray they're not facing something tragic.

My son and I are still in for Saturday. We planned to stay in LC and play Sunday too. So, if Sunday's "mimosa tourney" gets moved to another location rather than canceled... that's fine with us! (and I told Pinball-is-great the same.) Either way though, I understand.

Nevus I'm sorry you can't make it to LC. Thanks for reaching out to me about the shirts, and thanks for all you've done and are doing with those!

This update is for the Sunday tournament, the Saturday tournament is undisturbed and is happening as planned. Romp in the Swamp VII is Saturday exactly as planned.

    —————

Alright, the Sunday tournament: Pinball-is-great and I have been talking much of this evening and we have determined a way to have the Sunday tourney occur as planned. The tournament will move from the Hilliard home (where it was scheduled) to my office, which is a couple miles down the road. We will follow the same format for this tourney we planned to follow at the Hilliards.

Please note we are going to strictly adhere to the 16 person entree limit for the Sunday tourney as was originally advertised. Further, if you are not playing in the tournament you cannot come and watch the tournament since we can’t have people roaming around the building who we do not know. I am going to change the address on the Pinside website for the tourney and the Hilliard family will put a sign on their front door on Sunday about the relocation of the tournament.

    Thank you.

Anyone else here excited about Rick and Morty?

When I first heard the rumor a few months ago, I wasn't keen on it. After taking some time to look at the subject content, I've totally changed my mind. I'm super excited to see the reveal when it happens.

    #4310 4 years ago

I'm so giddy that Spooky got this license it's just ridiculous. Starting season 4 over tonight to celebrate!

    #4311 4 years ago

I recently got the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ package. I started up Rick and Morty Season 1 Ep1 this afternoon.

    Quoted from Nevus:

I couldn’t possibly be more excited, I am a huge Rick and Morty fan!! My son got me started a few years back I struggled through the first couple episodes and then I got hooked! I watched them all several times over and I have been suffering the last two years waiting for the new season to start.

    #4313 4 years ago

I'm sorry, but I'm ignorant of all things Rick and Morty. I'll learn through pinball. One of y'all buy it when it comes out!

I plan on getting one but I’m not a member of the fang club, which I guess I need to become.

Nevus I hope you love every second of Rick and Morty. I am constantly re-watching episodes of that and IASIP. It drives my wife crazy. Thank you again for holding on to a shirt for me.

To everyone else: I hope each of you are prepared to totally and completely humiliate and embarrass me at the tournament. To make matters worse, my wife will be competing so she can kick my butt, as well. I'm pumped to see everyone and watch the SEC Championship Game while playing pinball!

My BFF is in Vegas. All that sin and debauchery around him, and he chooses to go to heaven.

XQ11 brother when I went to Las Vegas in 2014 the pins had super weak flippers and I failed to understand the appeal... Since then I wish for nothing more than to play those pins again. I am flying out to Vegas again next year. We will see how they play...

The Sunday tourney was a lot of fun. This was the tourney that was moved last minute from the Hilliard house to the office where we usually host the weekly league. The tourney was capped at 16 people (consistent with the IFPA submission the Hilliards made) and all 16 slots were eagerly filled with players from Lake Charles, Ragley, Beaumont, Monroe, New Orleans, Houma, and Lafayette. Louisiana pinball sure has grown over the last few years and it has been an incredible time.

Congratulations to Pinball-is-great for taking first place in the “Not Another Pinball Tournament” pinball tournament. I believe this was his first main tourney victory since Romp in the Swap II, and he sure scratched and clawed his way to the victory as he qualified for the top four of the finals on his final game.

Kelly Moncla, who finished in second, likely did enough to secure a spot for the finals in the top 16 in Louisiana next month. Amazingly Kelly only played in three events all year but should still likely qualify. Congrats to Kelly.

Here are some pics from the Sunday tourney:

Results from both events yesterday and from today’s tourney have been submitted to the IFPA and paid for. They should post this week. Also, I plan to submit the league on Tuesday night right after it is concluded and that will close the books on Louisiana IFPA pinball for 2019. Great year of pinball for Louisiana!

    #4325 4 years ago

I need to apologize to the Moncla Mafia - yesterday I was posting emojis in the stream because baby Sam dumped water on my keyboard! I am officially back in action and loved the stream yesterday. The highlight for me was the displaying of the American Girl Doll pin, Flip Side.

    #4326 4 years ago

While my keyboard may now work, my fingers apparently do not. Maybe next year I will sniff at the top 16 tournament. Congratulations to all of those that made it!

    #4327 4 years ago

The IFPA accepted the results and took out the fee for last weekend's three tourneys. The next time they update the system those events will post.

The IFPA have not yet taken out the fee for the league that ended this past Tuesday (results were not submitted till Thursday). So, it'll be another few days before we are finalized on qualifiers and position. That said, I do not anticipate the league results changing much as the top six players from the league (who will receive the lion share of the IFPA points) were already in the top 16.

PavBall LOVE these pictures of TigerLaw and son of Tigerlaw, future state champ!

Louisiana state IFPA rankings are updated. I think they under reported TGP on the romp in the Swamp main tourney, I’m going to ask Pinball-is-great to look into that so I think these standings may still change.

    #4332 4 years ago

    I thought they seemed low.

How many meaningful games did you enter? Also, spell out how the finals worked to the IFPA.

    #4334 4 years ago

    Hey friends,

Who got in on Rick and Morty?

I choose to wait knowing it would likely sell out. I’ve got plenty of confidence I will own this game. I just couldn’t commit with one days time to decide. It looks amazing!

Gratz! Did you go through a distributor or directly from Spooky? BS or SE?

    #4338 4 years ago

I went through Joe at Pinballstar. Tried to buy direct, but the Spooky site kept freezing on me. In on a bloodsucker, just waiting to find out where I fell in line now!

    #4339 4 years ago

    Congrats to you guys.
I’ll keep my eyes open to see how this develops over the next few months. I’ll strike when the time is right for me.

Meanwhile, I may have to grab a JP premium with a show discount etc in the next few months. That’s one fun game.
I want to wait an see how the second batch works out with the PF issues.

Agree that JP is a really fun game. I may be in the market for a used one once I get my projects done.

    #4341 4 years ago

@easternbloc My story is the same as yours. I got my order in about 9:02. About 10 seconds after I got joes email. Easiest ordering process I have ever used.

@nevus I really like JP and the Premium version is on a whole Nother level!

Hey gang, just an FYI, Jodester and I are reserving April 25th to throw a pinball party. We will announce it formally early next year with more details but wanted to go ahead and reserve the date on the group calendar that there will be an LC tourney that weekend (likely will also have an event on the 26th of April, but the 25th will be the large event). Thanks.

    #4343 4 years ago

Date saved. Thanks for the early notice.

Did this all get straightened out? Where is state tourney going to be? LC? Who's place?

    #4345 4 years ago

My place. Please plan to host next year James!

The IFPA LA State Pinball Championship trophy arrived safely down here earlier this week.

    #4348 4 years ago

Thanks for the confirmation I thought this year was LC but couldn’t remember who’s place. I thought Chris is next in line for hosting state championships. I can go after him if that’s the case. We have a lot of time to figure that out.

    #4349 4 years ago

I think it’ll be a lot of fun to have a Shreveport and/or Leesville state championship. I’m very supportive of either location for 2021.

    #4350 4 years ago
    Quoted from TigerLaw:

and screw you to Allen for tossing 97 mill on my Iron Man at 1am!

So, I'm curious.... Does this still stand?
