Quoted from TigerLaw:Courtesy heads up, The Scales of Pinball 3 may have to move from it's August 9th date to August 16th or an even later date due to a potential scheduling conflict on my end (work matter that has popped up that is outside of my control). I plan to email the IFPA and pinball-is-great to see what I need to do to change up the date if they will let me. Otherwise, the event may be canceled. Thanks.
I should know by Thursday whether I have to cancel the August 9th date. I'm doing everything in my power to be able to keep this date. I've reached out to the IFPA and copied Pinball-is-great to loop them in to scheduling issue. I'll post here on Thursday with the final word. Thanks.

Recently got word of reception for eldest granddaughter that day. Sigh. Oh well.
Alright, the change is official. The Scales of Pinball 3 event has been moved to Friday, August 23rd. Sorry for the inconvenience of having to move the date of the event.

We did some pin repair yesterday evening by the way. We found a little helper. 2F16F97B-8C38-447D-A5C7-98C37DFE0233 (resized).jpeg7299CCDA-C535-4FA5-9AF8-25376F462362 (resized).jpeg97C0C2BF-1282-4483-A47A-78144F683AB6 (resized).jpegE8F8DCBC-FBA0-4F3D-AC5B-4FA535163E86 (resized).jpegE4AFC684-0AE5-4D54-A840-B8FD3475A767 (resized).jpeg
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:You need to find him a Zizzle game for him to play.
I would totally pick one up if I could find one for the right price...but those things sell on eBay now for more than they sold when they were new...it’s crazy.
Just a friendly reminder, the IFPA approved moving the Scales of Pinball 3 from August 9 to August 23. Do not show up on August 9, no one will be here.
Looking forward to seeing you all on August 23.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Look how giant the arms are on the T-Rex. Not very realistic, but it sure looks nice.
Selling my Metallica pro if anyone is interested. $4700 nice clean game. Needs new sticker for the backbox right side it started pealing bad so I just finished it off. Mirror blades, shaker motor and coffin skull mod. Just replaced all the rubbers and waxed.

They are pretty generous about stuff like that.
Quoted from scottslash:And I am SOOOO tempted! You selling MET to buy a JP2, Josh?
lol I wish (pay some bills)
So the time has come another year is almost over and I haven't hosted a tournament, so lets fix that. How do these dates work for everyone both are Saturdays Oct 12th or Oct 19th? Let me know.
If you want to know how far of a drive you will be from me Google the Pickering High School I'm about three miles from it.
By then we should be cooled down so shouldn't have any issues keeping the temp down in "Da shed" to keep everyone comfortable and if not raining can set up some tables and chairs in the yard as well.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:Oct 12th or Oct 19th?
I can do the 12th of October, but I cannot do the 19th of October. I really would like to make your event. Thanks!
I guess I'm Bizarro TigerLaw.
I can do the 19th of October, but I cannot do the 12th of October.
Yet, we DO agree we'd really like to make your event!
Come what may. S'all good.
Anyone from Lake Charles or other S LA areas going to Mississippi pinball tournament next weekend Sat Aug 17?
I've already checked w/ Zukboy, and also coordinated w/ bfults.
Hey everybody. I'm trying to get a head count for the tournament Saturday so if you are coming, please leave a post so I can get a good idea of the number to expect. If you are not coming, there is NO excuse, you are dead to me. But, seriously, I don't want to run out of red beans and rice and pork tenderloin

Gosh, wish I could. Hopefully action76 has another December event. I hope everyone has fun.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:Saturdays Oct 12th
Did we ever get this date hammered down? PavBall and I can get a sitter for the 12th if that is when the event is locked in. Really looking forward to help launch this tourney.

We are going with the 12th of OCT, that seemed like the date most could do, sorry Scott.
Still coming up with a name. looking like a 80's type tourney games from 1976 and up to 1989. I'm trying to cut off at 1989, I have a 1990 game in my game room now, but thinking about pulling it out and putting a older game in for the tourney, not that 1990 is new. I normally have 9 games in "Da Shed" but I may make that 8 for the tourney, I know a lot of players that like to move the games around when they play and one of my rows of 5 games has room for that but my row of 4 games is just about head to head touching so may need to pull a game out? for room to move them as playing. I may try a little re-arranging and see if I can keep 9 games in there with some head to head room? 8 or 9 games TBD.

Oh crap I’m dead to you now. Would love to come but can’t make it.

I'll add my two cents PoBoy,
It would be good to have 9 games in the gameroom for the tournament. 8 for the main tourney, and 1 as a spare/alternate machine in case one breaks down and it gets too involved to fix it on tourney day. Also the 9th machine could be used if you were to have a 9 hole pin-golf side tournament. Try to make room for 9 or 10 machines.
I think it would be ok to keep the 1990 machine in the gameroom as part of the 8 main tourney pins, or have it be the 9th pin. Heck, 1990 is basically 1980's technology for the most part.
Thanks for planning to host a pinball tournament and cook-out.
Now to start thinking of possible names for this tournament.
Vaughn and I are down for Flowood. Will try to contribute something a bit more "homemade" than Chick-fil-A this time!

Well never let it be said that I am disappointed when I see a tray of CFA nuggets LOL! Looking forward to it seeing you!
Quoted from Jodester:Sadly, I cannot.

Along with the bbq cook-out and party, I'll try to remember to bring a football and frisbee that we can throw around outside.
Do you have a set of horse shoes and stakes that we can set up in the yard?

S'all good. Thanks for thinking of me. Y'all have fun!
