What’s up this weekend Pinball friends?

It’s quiet here. I helped Mudflaps pack up some games last week and that’s about it.

I’m going to look at an EM this week (details after).

Banzai Run and Medieval are both on my shop list. Did I mention Banzai has been on this list for a about 4 years. It plays good as it is and I’m afraid removing the dirt will mess up the balance. It’s a hot mess under the hood also, but it runs pretty good.
For MM, I’m going to get PinsStadium lights, Titans and new LEDs. I’m considering mirror blades and RadCals.

    Quoted from Nevus:

PinStadiums on that MM would be HUGE!

I'm with @scottslash - PinStadiums on that MM would be HUGE and SWEET!

PinStadiums on that MM would be HUGE, SWEET and SAVORY!!

No Mudflaps. That's for a big rack of beef ribs on the bbq pit.

Pretty sure the correct phrase is: hot, sweet, and sticky.

Turn up the volume to 11.

    #4008 4 years ago

HUGE, SWEET, SAVORY, and.... yeah, it'd be okay I guess....

Still no details on the EM. What are you waiting for?

    #4010 4 years ago

We could not agree on price so I passed. The seller mentioned thinking it over and calling me back in a week or two. No rush.

    #4011 4 years ago

It looks like I may be moving a couple games out of the collection. I have a buyer for Target Alpha and may be doing a trade with my Transformers Pro.

How can pinball collecting not be an addiction?

    #4012 4 years ago

Results are posted now up on Ifpa site for the Mudflaps Invtl and the pin-golf side tourney.

    Hello from Galveston Pinside friends!!

Other than Jody’s event on July 5, what other events are there in Louisiana this year? Jodester and Tiger need to register the next league as the current one is ending in two weeks.

    #4014 4 years ago

Red River Replay will be Saturday Sept 14 2019 unless there are major conflicts with the regular attendees.

Angus is once again trying to come in from Colorado and I would like to set the date soon.

I’m looking forward to traveling to a few other tournaments this year if possible.

    Quoted from Nevus:

PavBall tells me we have a wedding to attend on Sunday the 15th in Portland, Oregon.

I know I have work things the 24-28th out of town as well in September. I’m otherwise pretty open (but please do not feel the need to schedule around me by any means).

Done. Late-summer league starts on July 30th.

    Sounds great! On my calendar!

Thanks Scott, not quite final yet. Hope to do so soon.

    #4019 4 years ago

A reminder, week 10 of league at my place tonight. I finally updated the code on Deadpool, so it will be interesting how scoring plays out tonight.( I put up 500 million last night on a test game. Glass on)

Also, Make Pinball Great Again tourney at my place this Friday night. Practice starts at 530 and tourney starts at 630. If you need directions, please PM me if you haven't been to my place before.

Special thanks to Jodester for loaning Solar Ride to the league for next season. The game has taken the place of CSI up at the office and will be there for the league season beginning on July 30th (could someone select it as one of the games for the finals next week?).

WOZ is also leaving the office for league next season, big thanks to Speed who has let us enjoy this amazing game for almost 18 months now. We do not know as of now what will be replacing WOZ. We will try and make some decisions on that point over the next week or two.

Sat morning there is a group paddle trip going on up at Holbrook Park (a Calcasieu Parish park). We will be canoeing/kayaking on the W Fork Calcasieu River. I have a canoe and a kayak. Let me know by Thur night if you are interested in joining in on this out-n-back type paddle trip, weather permitting of course. Park is NW of Moss Bluff, LA.

I was using my mental powers to play pinball. I just wave my arms a bunch.

Fun tourney. Too damn bad I was down to 5 machines by the end of the night. (10 started) Minor issues with everything...

That explains why your games kept mysteriously going down! You were taking the batteries out of the games people were getting high scores on. Telekinesis!

    #4031 4 years ago

Repaired 3 of the games with issues this morning. All 3 were simple problems. It's just really hard to fix while hosting and playing with 23 people wanting to play pinball.

    The finalists...

For those who are already missing Mudflaps, I just saw him this evening. I was doing my normal powerwalk around the neighborhood and I hear my name being called. He just happened to be in my neighborhood hanging out with one of his friends that just got in to town. Glad to see him one more time before he heads out to the Jersey Shore!

Tourney results were sent to IFPA this morning pending approval.

    #4041 4 years ago

    Great tourney Jody.
Games will always pick the worst times to malfunction. Lol.
What turned out to be the issue with some of them?

    #4042 4 years ago

AC/DC- I cleaned the opto connectors on the ball trough and made sure the wiring was snug on the opto board. Fixed the issue.
TWD- The cable that attaches the opto switches that were acting flakey was loose on the MPU board. All that shaker action from Dennis’ GC game must have loosened it.

Transformers- Cleaned switches in the scoop. I think the main culprit was having 5 balls in 4 ball game. I should have just powered down the game and it would have fixed the issue I bet.

MB- Opened up a ticket with CGC. There is so much play in the Dracula mech that it’s not registering home position for Drac. That’s why it was having issues sending balls back from the scoop.

TA- Plan to look at it this week. I think there is one coil mech for match that needs a rebuild.

The Scales of Pinball 3 has been submitted for approval by the IFPA as a Friday, August 9th event at the office location in Lake Charles. There will be a side tournament. This tourney is a best game format tourney, not match play.

    https://pinside.com/pinball/events/the-scales-of-pinball-3-w-side-tourney-2019

When Greg and Janin have returned in the fall there will be a larger full blown Romp in the Swamp weekend of pinball events. This is not that, this is just a quickie. Come join us on the 9th of August.

    #4044 4 years ago

The Summer League results have been submitted to the IFPA electronically and are pending review and approval from Adam Becker.

The next Lake Charles league begins on July 30th and the next tournament is on August 9th. Thanks.

    #4045 4 years ago

Coming up in mid Aug in NW Louisiana:
    https://geekdcon.com/
Just sharing event website here. I've never been to this event.

    #4046 4 years ago

That’s a pretty awesome guest list they have there. Kevin Nash would be the one I would want to chat with if I could only pick one.

    #4047 4 years ago
    Quoted from Jodester:

Tourney results were sent to IFPA this morning pending approval.

They have posted them. That was fast.

    #4048 4 years ago

The league is up on the IFPA as well. State rankings have been updated.

    #4049 4 years ago
    Quoted from PoBoyPinball:

They have posted them. That was fast.

I am unsure if they counted the games played correctly. The points should be increased for my tourney if I am correct. IFPA is looking into the matter.

    #4050 4 years ago

Courtesy heads up, The Scales of Pinball 3 may have to move from it's August 9th date to August 16th or an even later date due to a potential scheduling conflict on my end (work matter that has popped up that is outside of my control). I plan to email the IFPA and Pinball-is-great to see what I need to do to change up the date if they will let me. Otherwise, the event may be canceled. Thanks.
