Mark Gunter came to the house today. High Speed is heading to Arkansas to participate in the SCS.
I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'll be a spectator.
I can bake a box of my famous chocolate chip cookies (if Walmart still sells them) and bring to the tourney.

I can clarify about some of the machines in the tournament, but TigerLaw and PavBall can give a more complete answer.
* Varkon will only be in the side tournament, and will not be in the LA State Championship.
* Note: Not all machines listed in his current collection in his Pinside profile will be in the tournament,
due to some machines are in a different location.
* I believe Met, Batman, Simpsons, Addams, X-Men, TNA, AFMr, Medusa, Sorcerer, Quicksilver, TWD, and Iron Maiden are all tournament machines.

It seems like most of the stores in Louisiana don't sell Shasta, so I just got a 2-L of Sunkist grape for other players and guests. 
The Pepsi is for me and PattyJ if she shows up.

Clarification on acceptable waiting for a machine to become available to play during the state championships:

A reminder that players can wait as many deep as needed for the game they want to play to become available.
There's too many shenanigans to be had regarding only allowing "open" games to be played. Players stalling in making choices, running to the bathroom, etc. (this is from personal experience from dealing with 'open only' game choices, believe me)
Players have battled all year for the right to play what they want to play for these championships. If anyone is concerned about how much that may extend the length of the championship, start your championship earlier in the day.

We have not had problems in past years, and I don't anticipate having issues this year. Just passing along info from IFPA.

Varkon may not be available. During testing last night, one of the flippers died. Will work on it Sat morning, but we may have to chose another game for the side tourney. (That game will not be included in tourney lineup and will be available for side tourney play through the day.)
Yea, major bummer about Varkon. It has been such a reliable game for four years...now, four days before the tourney it may be toast and we are not entirely sure what happened to it...a coil locked on we believe but we do not know why.
We may need a substitute game for the side tourney, we will discuss with Pinball-is-great and make a decision Saturday morning.

We are getting ready to list our Aerosmith Pro as a stock machine at $4500 as we need the space yet again.
So posting it here first before Facebook tonight.

I think that is a perfect game for the side tourney. It's out in the foyer and will not cause congestion in the main pinball room.
The ONE game that I know... out of the tournament. But at least it will give me a good shot at winning the side tournament! Honestly guys it’s all the same to me. I just got to give you some crap!
We’re bringing a similar veggie tray and a sweet snack mix. Looking forward to the food, fun, and fellowship!

I’ll likely be selling (or 2 for 1 swap) some of my games to lighten the load and keep the weight under limits.
