    Quoted from Jodester:

I liked the DP Dead_Flip stream. Shots look fun. My only issue is that I think it may be a long ball time game for better players. Could be a problem for tournaments.

    I agree.
The entire time I was watching the stream I was thinking, "Preston could play this game all day long" lol
But the shots look fun and it was very entertaining.

    #3002 5 years ago

The Deadpool playfield is gorgeous, and looks like it is going to be a ton of fun, but I guess I just don't yet understand the appeal of the big, intricate LCD screens. I'm never watching them in play, so even ones like WOZ are wasted on me. I also agree with Jodester about the ball time. It looks like WavingWilly and I could get a game of Sorcerer in between the turns of some of the pinheads on here.

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

Now that the cost of solar panels and batteries has come down a lot in the past few years, at some point in future you may want to add some of that.

I actually have thought about that. Maybe in the future. It would be nice to have the power company pay me to play pinball.

Hay Guy’s and Gals, Todd is opening up his arcade next Saturday the 25th from 2pm to 9pm no tourney but any one that wants to play a buck a game I’m sure we can get some of that action going. He has asked me to invite everyone out. So for a address send me a PM just so you have a general idea he lives in Eunice. Bring your own beer or whatever cold beverage you want to drink. And just a heads up wear some shoes you can slip off for the arcade (house rules carpet side). Hope some of y’all can make it out. A few pics of his place I know some games have changed since my last visit.

    Great looking place!

    #3006 5 years ago

Not mine, Todd’s place. He came to the LC tourney and I think he is going to make yours. I don’t think he will enter it but wants to meet more of the Louisiana collectors. I think he knows all of the Texas guys. He’s not on pinside so he asked me to put the word out for him about the 25th.

    #3007 5 years ago

It would be great to meet him. If I can come, I’ll bring Henry. If he makes mine, he will be most welcome tourney or not.

    #3008 5 years ago

Just got my parts back from Pinball plating.
I had them chrome some of my Addams Family playfield parts to match my chromed lock down bar I got from them at TPF.
    They came out amazing.
I did both Ramps, thing ramp and shooter lane ramp. Also did both switch brackets at the entrance to the Ramps.
As well as the right lane guide plate and entrance flap to the swamp.
Barely had time to install before I had to leave for vacation.

Can't make it to Todd's party on Aug 25th.
Guiding a kayaking trip out on Lake Martin at that time.
Still plannin to be at RRR4 on Sat Sep 1st.

    Saturday the 25th from 2pm to 9pm

Alas, I’m working out of town that day.

    #3012 5 years ago

Todd's game room is really nice. He has 6 or 7 pins and lots of arcade games in really great shape. I enjoyed playing Waterworld and his Star Wars last time I was there.

Had Mrs. XQ11’s mom’s birthday party at the house tonight. Nothing like pinball to bring the family together.

A big shout out to Mudflaps spending most of his Sunday afternoon helping me out with my first pin. It looks a lot better with a color DMD and LEDs installed.

ElCid95 welcome! I hope your username references the greatest apartment complex in Baton Rouge. Love the pin! I live (and die) by the orbit on that machine.

    Welcome to it, man!

Congrats on your first game! It sure does look great with the LEDs! Hope to meet you at Nevus' tourney in a couple weeks.

Your next Pinside task is to select your own avatar for the forum.

Killing bugs is great fun on Starship Troopers. Good choice for a first machine.
Good drinking game too, playing multi-player games with friends, with some trash talking thrown in.

Maybe you can talk Mudflaps into riding with y’all and make a road trip out of it, if you can make it. If he is not out antiquing with the wife Saturday.

    Speaking of drinking games...
This stuff is fantastic. TigerLaw missed the post fantasy draft card game and then the signoff.

A word of wisdom, never start out with 11% beer. It can only go downhill from there.

It depends Alex. Xmen may be out if I can't fix the captive ball issues.

Out of town now in our nation’s capital. These antiques aren’t going to buy themselves.

    #3029 5 years ago

Jodester If I make top 4 I will 100% pick TNA. Friendship ended with @xq11. TNA my best friend now.

Congratulations to Jodester First new moderator for Pinside in three years. Great news for the website.

Yep, those three plus Iron Maiden, The Adam’s Family, and Metallica. Game seven is unknown. Likely not XMen, likely Varkon but not certain.

I'll try to not be a problem Pinsider and to not put Jodester in a position to have to eject me from a thread or give me a 30-day ban from Pinside,
...unless he needs some moderator practice, sorta like a pre-season game.

She will be at my tournament autographing Popsicle sticks for free.

If you want her to eat the Popsicle first, its $100.

    #3040 5 years ago

@jodester is ruining the good name of pinball... He is turning it into a great name and this will not stand!

    Jodester Sucks!

I suspect Nevus has been moderated zero times over the past 6+ years here on Pinside Forum.

That may change within Jodester's first week as a Pinside Moderator, as Jodester establishes his power and authority over the general population of pinball enthusiasts, especially on Pinsiders that try poking the new moderator bear with a stick.

Proposed additional pinball side-tournament, non-IFPA points, at RRR4 at Nevus's place if enough time:

Pinball Teams Challenge to beat the Lake Charles Pinside Moderators Team of Jodester and TigerLaw.

Teams of 2 players each take turns challenging Team Moderators in a best 2 out of 3 games match.

Game 1 machine is picked by the team that is challenging Team Moderators, and is played as a 2-player split-flipper game, where Player 1 is the Challenger Team with one team member playing left flipper and 2nd team member playing the right flipper. Player 2 is Team Mods and same thing with one team member on left flipper, and the other Team Mods player on the right flipper.
Game 2 machine is selected by the losing team of game 1, and is played as a 4 player game, with combined total scores of Challenger Team compared to total combined score of Team Mods.
Game 3 (if necessary) machine is selected by losing team of game 2, and is played as a 2-player game, with machine Player 1 being the winning team of game 2, and machine Player 2 being the other team. For Player 1: ball 1 is played by Team A - player A, ball 2 is played by Team A - player B, and ball 3 is played as split flipper by Team A. Ditto for Player 2: ball 1 is played by Team B - player A, ball 2 is played by Team B - player B, and ball 3 is played as split flipper by Team B.
Prizes tbd for each Challenger team that beats Team Mods.
