I'll check into it JAH. I did submit results earlier this week.
I know I'm late, but thanks to Zukboy and Mrs. Zukboy for hosting us all. And to Pinball-is-great for running a very smooth tourney. It was a great time!
Quoted from TigerLaw:Whats been going on in the pinball world this weekend gang?
Nevus was a trooper and helped me move two games out of the gameroom, then another one back up the stairs. VirtuaPin goes on the market soon!
Also, an award winning pinball professional said I had the best AC/DC in the world worth at least $150,000.
Quoted from TigerLaw:I see you traded your RFM. Down now to only 3 games Mudflaps?
RFM was gone long ago. Now it's just AC/DC, Kiss and RZ. I'm planning to round out the gameroom with bubble hockey and sit down racers. I hope 3 pins will keep me satisfied.
Quoted from Mudflaps:I hope 3 pins will keep me satisfied.
There's little things you can do to help in that regard.
1.) Temporary machine trades with friends.
2.) Adjust the liberal/conservative posts by the entrance to the outlanes to close/widen the openings.
In the more liberal setting you can talk smack to liberals while nudging during gameplay.
"Take that you hypocrite liberals. How do you like that save?"
3.) Play with the glass off for a month. Your scores will improve too.
4.) Every few months just swap the positions of your 3 machines.

I believe three machines are the minimum to host a tourney. So, you should throw one for us since you meet the requirements.
AMH came back home and KISS went back to Mudflaps. I helped him drop his games and scratch his walls. I am a great friend!
Also, I've got the first draft of my light box for Spooky translight I purchased from a Pinsider a while back. Shadow box from Michael's and LEDs from China.
Quoted from Nevus:Henry started the heavy shop job on Charlie the local operator's DESW. It should be ready for the tournament.
That's excellent! I haven't played that game in many years, is it running the newer software (it got an update like six years ago oddly enough that balanced the scoring on it)? We are really excited for your tourney.
Quoted from Nevus:I should order the chip. I'll see if I can find it.
You should be able to get it from here http://www.thatpinballplace.com/

He should be wearing a respirator with an aqualung with the grime on that game!
A nice Sorcerer just popped up in Bama at a really good price (someone should scoop that sucker up):

It does look really nice.
Allen would love that game.
Wait! What did Gruden say? Let me re-read that.
“I’ve met with several people—I won’t deny that, people—just about every year I talk about coming back to coach. I’m not in here every day at 4:30 or 4:00 in the morning watching pinball. You know? I’m preparing myself to come back. I am. Every day. I’m preparing to come back.”

I submitted info on IFPA website earlier tonight for registering the two upcoming pinball tournaments (main and pingolf side) for Red River Replay event Sat Sep 16th, so hopefully it will show up on IFPA Calendar in a couple days after they have a chance to review and approve them.
I can see that IFPA is still a week or so behind with updating tourney results. I'm sure this is in part due to it took them a couple days to replace/repair their server that crashed recently. Their website is back up, but I bet they are busy addressing issues and processing incoming tournament data, etc.
I know IFPA has our results for the Houma pingolf side tourney, so hopefully that will get approved/updated this week.
Added over 7 years ago: Edit: Houma Pingolf tournament results are now up on IFPA site, and IFPA has caught back up a significant amount this week.
Thanks Mike. I've been passing the word around to some of my North LA friends and acquaintances. I'm hoping to introduce a few new faces to the tournament scene. At the very least, introduce them to more pinball people.

They are in and posted, thanks Mike.
Hey guys and gals. I didn't post this in the other threads as I didn't want to deal with the negative Nellies, but Henry and I played the first Star Wars Premium off the line at Stern today. The same game that was on the Deadflip stream. We only played a few games, but we played with Steve Ritchie. It's really neat seeing the balls shoot around that hyper loop! Overall, I was impressed.
Also, walking around the factory with him and seeing all of the various quality controls was impressive. I know stuff gets missed, but seeing the process from beginning to end is special. Although I only saw the previous facility once, the new factory is amazing. I was truly impressed.

Nice.
The new factory is amazing. We did the tour last October.
Looks like you guys had an amazing time.
I saw some pretty rude comments in the Star Wars thread. As we played, Steve was talking with the code guy (Dwight?). They plan to increase the speed of the hyperdrive balls. Also, the Death Star has a bunch of super bright LEDs. My best guess is that it malfunctioned on the demo. Maybe no one had gotten that far yet.
Quoted from Mudflaps:Here's the new game room. I downsized on pins but picked up bubble hockey and a sit down racer.
Is the fire pole in the other corner?
Note: We're using code words.

The pole leads directly to my dungeon.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:My daughter has the bug. The mini arcade bug
Do they play like the real thing?
Hey guys, new to pinball ownership (have enjoyed the occasional arcade room play over the years) but been gaming forever.
Hope to be able to come to one of the get togethers that are near me.

Still not seeing triple R tournament on IFPA site. Chris what time are you looking to start?
Thanks scott...
The generic gulf coast thread seems dead but you guys are pretty active on this one.
Quoted from PoBoyPinball:Still not seeing triple R tournament on IFPA site.
I've submitted both tournaments for RRR to IFPA. Was hoping to see them pop up by today. Perhaps by next Monday. ??
Due to IFPA computer system issues in early Aug, I had to re-submit both tournaments to IFPA.
Then I had a bad link to the Fb pg tournament posting in one of the two re-submittals, so had to email them back about that.
Anyhow, all info is posted on the event created on the Ark-La-Tex Pinball Club Facebook pg in the Events section.
The details are in my Aug 1st post inside the RRR Event.
I also created an event for RRR here on Pinside. Go to Events, and scroll down to Sep 16th and click on it.
Feel free to let us know who's going, though I already have a pretty good idea.
I believe Nevus is fine with us showing up between 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Sat Sep 16th, and try to start around 1 pm.
Quoted from Raegor:Hey guys, new to pinball ownership (have enjoyed the occasional arcade room play over the years) but been gaming forever.

Welcome Raegor,
I realize Shreveport is a bit far for you, but you are welcome to go to Nevus's RedRiverReplay event on Sat Sep 16th.
Check out the details and let us know if you want to attend. We are going low cost on tournament entry fees this event.
It's basically a pinball party with two pinball tournaments thrown in. You don't need to be a pro player to enjoy the day.
You just missed the tournaments and party we had down in Houma at Zuk's gameroom back in mid July.
Welcome Raegor
Thanks Mike I just can't bring myself to do a Facebook, but I do make my wife lirk some of them for me. I don't known why I forget about the events here, I just checked it and that was helpful.
Quoted from Raegor:The generic gulf coast thread seems dead but you guys are pretty active on this one
Welcome to the club. Yep, we have a great group of pinheads here. The gulf coast club is doing great!
Hope to see you at the September 16th tourney in Shreveport.
Quoted from Raegor:Hey guys, new to pinball ownership (have enjoyed the occasional arcade room play over the years) but been gaming forever.
Oh, don't forget to pick out and upload a Pinside avatar!
We still need to get our Oct. 1st tourney listed with IFPA.
Preston does it for us but he tends to put it off till the last min. for some reason.
Anyway, I just got my F-14 CPU board back from Chris Hibler. It had battery damage and some transistors had burned so badly that there were no traces left on the board. (Well beyond my repair skills). He did a fantastic job at a reasonable cost. We are back on the road to a working F-14.
