People show up to our tournaments with no tourney experience all the time so don't worry about that. We just have a good time playing and talking.
Plus my dad is going to make another large batch of chicken and sausage gumbo.
Also feel free to bring a cooler with your favorite drinks.
It is really just one big party with pinball as an excuse to do it.

Can't remember if I posted this here already or not but here is our new wall of Sterns.

    Nevus,

What did you decide to do concerning Full Throttle and Aliens since attending TPF.

I know one thing you decided, was to buy a nice Nip It w/ zipper flippers.

    #1203 6 years ago

I've listed Full Throttle for sale. Alien is nice, but I'm ready to try something new. If it doesn't sell, I'll just wait and see. IMO, Alien is a game that will be ready next year. They need to build some and get feedback before I'm ready to buy one.

I'm really sorry to miss this. I have end of the year Cub Scout camp out with Henry. I see you wasted no time getting Aerosmith. I really liked it at the Texas show.

    Aerosmith is awesome.
We have already live streamed it on our Twitch chanel the past two Sunday nights.
It is Sterns best code out of the gate in years.

I was absolutely torn between Aerosmith and RZ. Both really fun yet totally different.

I went with RZ because I already have 2 Stern music games and wanted to give Spooky a shot. Aerosmith is still high on my wishlist though.

    Makes perfect sense.
luckily RZ and Alice Cooper just are not our cup of tea.
However with Spooky signing on to produce Total Annihilation, that could get interesting.

    Lake Charles IFPA tourney talk:

So Jody, Pav, and I met tonight. We want to get the tourney season going in June in LC (Pinball-is-great will be back in state in June and Pav and I will have a baby sitter [Pav's mom] so we can focus on being the best hosts possible).

So Jody is thinking of Bayou Bash II in early June and then two weeks later we will do Romp III (also June). We will finalize the exact dates this week.

My plan for Romp III is to take a lot of the emphasis off the main tourney (there will be a shorter main tourney with no consolation bracket) and then have a good number (at least three) of side tourney events with one of the side tourneys exclusively for people who either do not play the main tourney or lose first round in main tourney.

I will work with Pinball-is-great on the side tourneys and make sure they are all IFPA compliant.

Is there a link or sign up for the tourney on the 30th? Sounds like a fun day trip and me and a friend would like to go. Just need the details.

    Thanks.

We didn't post the entrance fee (we haven't decided it honestly. It's usually between 10-20) The "official" site is here https://www.facebook.com/events/104012616805008/

If I make changes it will be updated on that page. Hope to see you!!!

    #1217 6 years ago

    We will be there. Thanks!

Congrats!! So exciting! I mentioned you last night on our live stream of Spider-Man. I was talking about how I recommended it to you for a family purchase since you like Metallica but weren't sure of it fitting in well in your home. At the time last night I completely forgot you were in the club LOL. I'm such a dummy

So I'm at Fort Leavenworth today working (site survey's). So I'm on my 4th building at the base and it happens to be a teen center and the communication closet is in the game room, pool table, air hockey and so on. I turn around and what do I see (a pinball)? Drove me nuts some kid had managed to get all of the balls loaded in the shooter lane and to many ball's (weight) to launch them to get them back loaded. I didn't want to lift the machine since I was there on work, but man I wanted to fix it so bad or ask if I could buy it.

    SDC16046 (resized).JPGSDC16046 (resized).JPG

    #1231 6 years ago

Just hit the end of the shooter rod knob hard to jam it fwd to launch the balls out of the shooter lane.

    #1232 6 years ago

    This be that Pickle

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

If I would have had time and if some one would have been in the building I could have talked with I would have tried to fix it for them, but I was being escorted by a base IT guy so he wasn't as fired up as I was to find a pinball machine. Cool to find that they had one in this teen center I hope it gets played when its working.

Hey, planning on trying to meet Leon tomorrow. Hoping to meet more of you. Work sucks, too much to do so little time. Saw a Pin Bot for sale. Guy would take $250 but apparently the head had been cut off at one point and it had no legs. I thought about it and I already have a basket case I'm working on and absolutely no time for that amount of soldering and heat shrink wrapping. Also who knows what was wrong with it prior to the head being severed?!?!?

    #1235 6 years ago
    Quoted from Spg101:

Thank you, I will plan to be there barring any unforeseen circumstances.

    Check out spacecitypinball.com
We host a casual league at joystix next to the ballpark, and tournaments at the game preserve in spring

    Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

Open weekend days in June for me as of now are: Sun June 4, Sun 18th (Father's Day), Sat 24, & Sun Jun 25.

Please avoid the 23rd to 25th of June. It's the bat city open. In Austin. On 6th street

    #1236 6 years ago

Working with Pav, Jodester, and pinball-is-great for Romp III, June 18th is looking like the most likely date right now for the LC tourney.

Will follow up on Wednesday or so and confirm.

    #1237 6 years ago

I'm on summer vacation 6/17-6/24. Sorry I will miss. Sounds like great fun Tiger.

Depending the condition of the rest of the game playfield cab boards? I would be all over that deal and bring it back to life

Hey, I enjoyed meeting you guys and Preston today. I appreciate the hospitality. Waiting for a good sale on pork or a chance to hunt some wild hogs and I'll make some sausage! Typically I make 50lb batches and can make multiple flavors; English Bangers, hot Italian, sweet Italian etc. we'll have to have a grill out or smoke some brisket or pork butt. Here's a pic of my smoker. If you know where to get some pecan or red oak wood let me know! My brisket is so good you have to keep it away from the top of your head....... or your tongue will beat you to death trying to get a taste! Lol

I was going to say, my vote would be for brisket. And then I read your last sentence and that sealed the deal.
    Must have some now.
It was awesome having you over today. Time always seem to fly by when I am chatting and playing pinball. We could have kept you entertained in stories all week long. lol.
    Mmmmm, Brisket.
Sorry got distracted for a moment.

Snapped a quick photo of you at Colorado Canyon, but totally forgot to take any at the house.
    Thanks again for stopping in.

I make a motion to add a pinball party and bbq to the Apr 30th GCPC Shoot Again Pinball Tournament event.

I'm willing to serve as Assistant to the Director of Pinball Parties & BBQs to help out as needed.
Perfectly willing to just enter the side tournament, not enter the main tournament, help track progress thru the brackets of the main tournament, help the chef keep an eye on the meat in the grill/smoker, etc.

I like where this is going. lol.

Some good news for Pinball (if your mom or dad is in the Army) so today I'm at Fort Riley surveying and in the teen center a pinball machine. Today I was able to talk to one of the employees and she did say this one works and the kids do play it. She even said when a ball gets stuck the lift it up to get it unstuck. These are on free play. So two base and each had a pin in the teen center. Driving down to Fort Sill tomorrow so we will see if they have one? Cool to see pins in these teen centers.
