Played pinball at Wayback's Arcade in Pineville, LA for a few hrs on Sunday.
The have 5 pinball machines, a bunch of arcade video games, and other games.
They are currently working on a new larger location in Pineville, getting it ready, etc.
Later this year they will move into the new location.

It a was small leap of faith as I had only played one once or twice in the past. I love the art and BG of Astro. Ken did an amazing job and it plays like new. It feels like a keeper!

Well since you brought me into this thread, I can speak with experience now that I have toured the pinball places in Denver and Phoenix, they have much better pinball venues..Just sayin..

Where did you go in Phoenix? I’ve recently been to Electric Bat Arcade (showed up on league night open tournament...I was welcomed with open arms and had a blast. Very interesting “three-bar” setup and a dark, dive atmosphere. Great game variety and all games playing great) and Stardust Pinbar (felt like I was going into an old fashioned speakeasy that was techno of steroids inside! Lots of college co-eds coming and going. The wings were excellent!)

I have registered for TPF 2022. I'm bringing Centigrade 37 and Astro. If anyone would like to share a game space with me, I have registered the games under "ArkLaTex Pinball Club". Kim usually gives us a space for several games that we can have together.
This looks like a fun format to use for a side tournament sometimes.

-FORMAT-
Each player will enter tournament with 9 lives(format is more commonly referred to as avoiding 9 strikes). Each round four players will be paired together on a randomly chosen machine and play a four-player game. The number of people who beat you on that game is how many of your lives you will lose, example:
1st Place: Lose 0 Lives
2nd Place: Lose 1 Life
3rd Place: Lose 2 Lives
4th Place: Lose 3 Lives
After round is over, new pairings will be set up on another randomly selected machine. This process continues. Once you lose 9 lives you are DEAD and out of the tournament! So each round more and more competitors will die, and we continue this process until there is one survivor remaining, who then that survivor will be deemed the winner.

Does this mean a 20% increase in points value for playing in tournaments with over 64 people? I'm thinking like the first comment, I'll never play in that big an event and the people who do/can will be even further up in an elite bracket I'll never reach.
And WoodZgooD follow this thread for when people post pictures from the tournament. THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN TOURNAMENT I WAS HAVING MOAR PLESE !

The smaller venue was just perfect for my first tournament. Had a great time. The camaraderie between everyone made it like we were old friends. Loved the selection of machines we played! ‘DaShed’ is a certainty one cool lil place to put on your bucket list! Our host was Top Notch! Looking forward to my next event!
I also want to thank James for hosting.
His place is definitely off the beaten path, but I think that is the way that he wants it.
James also did a great job fixing minor problems on several machines so that the tournament could proceed normally.
You can tell that this was not the first time that he has repaired a pinball machine.

I asked to be in the que Nov 2019, I took my game April of 21 and he's not close. I checked recently and it seemed several were in front of me.
