nice Chris...
I’m feeling crafty today
Stranger Things got the speaker light kit upgrade with the 5.25 speakers and kit.
Sounds good too. I can’t say objectively it’s better sounding, but it does seem nice.

That’s great. I’m tempted to start upgrading sound in some of my machines again. I’m considering getting this for GNR LE for whenever it comes in:

What do you guys think? Worth it?
Something like that is on my list, I just need to commit.
I don’t know much about it. Aaron says a powered sub, at the least, sounds much better.

Like a standard external sub? Any specific size or brand recommendation?
We connected one my Tron last weekend and it’s almost like a new game, huge improvement with the external sub.

I would not spend that kind of money for better sound. You can upgrade most games with a Flipper Fidelity kit and then and external sub for far less money. Often you can catch the sub on sale for $79 if you time it right.
If I recall correctly, Mudflaps set up a rig that allowed a few games to be connected to the same sub.
Kyle can you share that here? I don’t remember the names.

It’s called the Pinsmx Passive Subwoofer Mixer. I have a pinnovators board for each of my games and they connect to an external board which lets you individually set subwoofer volumes for each of four subs. Highly recommended.
https://pinnovators.myshopify.com/products/pinsmx-passive-subwoofer-mixer
I also purchased a $150 backbox amplifier to test the waters. Not recommended unless you play you games at ridiculous volumes. I get complaints about normal volumes, so I play my games a little lower than normal.

Since we were mentioned! If you want your GNR to sound absolutely epic, add the PinWoofer system. Also, I can't overstate the importance of what our system does to the backbox and the overall sound of the pin. Here is what others have said:

PW-LT - Use Model (resized).jpgFor SAM system machines, I highly recommend the PIN PAC 2 SAM MAC from Pinnovators.
They have other systems for different type machines as well.
The system includes a headphone jack on the front with volume control and separate volume control buttons for the machine.
Also includes a sub woofer output in the back box on a circuit card there.
I also purchased the optional audio cable to use with my self powered sub woofer.
See attached.

I won't lie, that system looks really cool.

Thanks! We put a lot of effort into the asthetics and use model of the GT.
Quoted from ulmpharmd:upgrading GNR and Wonka
Hey ulmpharmd ! We hit the ball out of the park on JJP. The Line Trimmer for the GT amp (pictured above) allows you adjust your external sub volume from the coin door location like shown. The GT line out is at studio level signal (+10dBV) so you get lots of drive capability.

I agree with ulm, this really looks great. What the heck, I’m going to spring for it and give this system a shot on my GnR LE.
I’ll do just the external sub on Mando, that game should have some pretty elite bass.

Pinnovators boards arrive today. Polk audio sub coming this week.
I hope to set it all up this weekend!
Here’s one of the boards going into Star Trek (SAM). Here’s the Polk audio sub.
For my 4 setup with the PinsMx, the 10 ft 3.5mm cables aren’t long enough to all reach the sub, I just ordered 4 10 ft 3.5mm extension cables. This should work perfectly.
Quoted from Dent00:I visited the Chattanooga Pinball Museum today. Pretty cool place. Lots to see. They had Hot Wheels, which I had never seen. I put the high score on that one after several attempts.
Man, you go to some cool places.

Looks incredible. Can’t wait to go visit you soon!
I have an external subwoofer hooked up to Tron Legacy the same way and you will be blown away with the difference. When I had Avengers, it was awesome as well. Mudflaps, thanks again for making the original suggestion for this much needed addon.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Man, you go to some cool places.
I go to a lot of places, but I only mention the ones that are interesting.
Some places I go are not somewhere you want to be on a regular basis, with no pinball and not so cool of an environment.
The area this place is located in downtown Chattanooga is scenic with many restaurants and such.
For $21.38, you too can experience this place from 2PM-9PM on most days.
They say it is $20, but there is $1.38 tax added to that on entry and you get an orange wristband.
About 25% of the machines were contemporary DMD machines, about 50% were solid state and the remainder were EMs.
Most machines were working, but some had issues.
There were a LOT of a machines here.
They had at least 10 older machines that I had never seen or played before (mostly EMs).
OXO, Orbiter, Volcano, Big Brave, Gorgar, Dominos Pizza, etc., etc.
I played almost all of them once, maybe twice.
They even had one machine from overseas somewhere about motorcycles and one giant machine that I bypassed.
I was more interested in Hot Wheels and Harley Davidson (Stern) than anything else.
It seems like the owner really likes Twilight Zone and the Adams Family, that were in a prominent location.
Every machine had a little plastic placard on it to describe the vintage, manufacturer and general info on the machine.
Much like David Yopp does at a bar in Memphis on his machines.
It is worth a visit if you are in the area, it is unique.

Happy to hear you enoyed Hot Wheels so much. As things open up, more people will discocer this gem.

Yeah, it was cool.. Baby Tyranosaurus, Big Monkey, Little Cobras, etc, etc...
Very nice graphics and pretty good flow with funny call outs from time to time.
American Pinball is an unknown quantity for me...
Not Stern, Not Williams, Not Gottlieb, not even JJP, Chicago Pinball, Spooky or that other company in Round Rock, Texas..
Hi everyone I have a problem I got a star wars premium yesterday it had the 1.05 code I decided to update it to the new one now it just says initializing and is stuck in a loop star wars comes up and then it goes back and forth no playfield lights come on at all I tried both ways unzipping the file from stern and not just putting it on my usb still doesnt do anything I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to unzip it any help I'm dead in the water right now
Just in case you missed a step
1. format the usb
2. unzip / "extract all" the downloaded code file
3. open the unzipped folder
4. take the two files and place them in the usb root directory
5. place in the game with power off
6. turn game on
Tried 2 new usb has to be the card just dont know how it would all of a sudden go bad just cause of an update
On Saturday, May 22, we are hosting an open tournament to raise money for a pinball family with a young son that is battling leukemia. It's going to be at the new "arcade lounge" bar downtown called EightyTwo. We will play 10 rounds of matchplay with a break in the middle for dinner. $10 donation to participate. I hope some of you will make the trip. There's also the new Cidercade right down the road if you want to plan to check them both out.
