Quoted from h_2_o:Sorry I will not be doing the corkscrew ramp currently because last i checked it was still available to be found
Any links?
I thought that it has been OOS for years...
Back in the day there were black, paper thin, reproduction corkscrew ramps.
A few years back there were some thicker orange ones from Jim, but I have not seen them in a long time.
Quoted from Schusler:Vid, I believe some of the original corkscrew ramps also came in orange. I have a populated playfield from a Comet that was parted that had the orange corkscrew ramp installed albeit, broken in several spots. That ramp was paper thin to say the least...
Correct.
Factory corkscrews were orange.
The only replacements available back in the 90s were black.
Some orange ones popped up a few years back out of thicker stock, but are no longer available.
Quoted from BigB:I have a printer/scanner? at home. Explain this scanning procedure. Not very teck knowledgeable. What's the difference between scanning and copying?
Remove the decal from the ramp (carefully, make sure you warm it with a hair dryer), place the sticker on a piece of polyester sheet (like a "report cover" from office supply store), scan it in TIFF or BMP format @ 300 dpi.
I'll clean it up for you and make it ready for printing.
Quoted from BigB:Vid1900: I found my Comet decal. It has never been installed on a ramp and thus, it's covered in a protective paper backing that you can't see thru. I will bring it with me to the Texas Pinball Festival if someone there wants to look at it and see if there's a way to scan it without destroying it. I'll be there all weekend.
Sorry I just saw your post.
I was out of the country and could not attend Texas.
The decal could be backlit and then scanned, or stuck to a piece of glass, then scanned.
