Where did you get the new power supply from?
Quoted from Stags6969:Sometimes when the ball ejects into the shooter lane, it rebounds off of the side rail and goes back into the mouth of the trough. I then have to nudge / shake the machine to get it back into the shooter lane.
I've turn the power of the eject coil as low as you can, but still get this happening from time to time.
Becomes a big issue if it happens during a MB.
Anyone know how I can fix this?
Bend the tab on the ejector towards the back of the machine. This will make the ball bounce into the shooter lane instead of back in to the ball trough. Shinny piece on the front of the ejector.
15699956919893362498929447027515 (resized).jpgQuoted from Green-Machine:After my first waxing I have the same issue. The slippery surface must be allowing a not so clean shot to bounce around more than an unwaxed playfield
So it seems like a lot of us are having this issue. I played last night and had a great game all modes completed except 1, immolation intitiative, and cherry bomb. But, even though I had a great game I got rejected almost every Drax shot because of this.
Has anyone found anything that works? Maybe wax inside the lane? Maybe trie to clean the wax off of the playfield in the lane but leave the wax on the metal and plastic?
I don't currently own a GOTG but played it recently at a league event and really liked it more then I expected. I am now going to monitor to see if a premium pops up in my area for sale.
My question is did any of Stern's current playfield issues (pooling, chipping, etc) affect the GOTG pins? I've been reading quite a bit about the issue possibly affecting some recent makes like Iron Maiden, Black Knight, and JP2 but am unsure if this is was an issue at all during the GOTG run. Any insight is appreciated.
Someone on Pinside has posted pictures of GoTG with the pooling issue. I have no idea how common it is, but there’s at least one that has it...and that means more probably do too.
Quoted from Stags6969:Hi Neil
Where do I get the foam? What thickness and how to I attach it.
It already has a shooter lane protector, as per the photo.
Thanks[quoted image]
B&Q, just stick a piece over the protector.

Thank you! What do you guys think of the Pro vs. Premium for this title? Do the extras on the Premium justify the price difference or is the Pro close enough?
Quoted from Utesichiban:Thank you! What do you guys think of the Pro vs. Premium for this title? Do the extras on the Premium justify the price difference or is the Pro close enough?
While the light show and spinner on the Premium are really nice additions I think this is one of the best Pros, the game play is the same (minus spinner) and a lot of fun. I bought mine lightly used figuring I'd play it for a few months then flip it for something else but I really, really like it and haven't found another Stern worthy of taking it's place yet. If money isn't an issue the Premium is still a pretty good deal on the secondary market, if buying new I'd suggest going with the Pro unless you plan to keep it for a really long.
Quoted from Utesichiban:Thank you! What do you guys think of the Pro vs. Premium for this title? Do the extras on the Premium justify the price difference or is the Pro close enough?
The Pro is great especially if you're buying NIB. I do think the extras on the Premium are worth it: The RGB insert lighting, spinners, motorized orb, lit metal apron, Groot arms, extra magnets. Purple is my favorite color and there is a lot on the Premium. I was lucky I got my Premium for the price of a new Pro, so that was a bonus. I don't plan on ever selling it, either.
Since game play is the same (except for the spinners), it all boils down to your own personal opinion on what the extras are worth to you.

If you are looking to buy NIB then Pros are all that is available, Premiums are NLA with Stern and I got one of the last ones back in June...
Hi there, We've got a little issue with our GOTG Pro. When starting up the first (1 player) game of the day, numbers start scrolling around where the scores of player 1, 2 & 3 normally are placed. This only stops when the machine gets switched on and off. Does somebody else here also have had this issue?

I thought that got fixed a few code revisions ago, what version are you running?
I had that problem occasionally. I believe I posted the issue here and the advise I was given was that I didn't let the game fully boot before starting a game. Hasn't happened since then.

Yeah, all other issues magically disappear when one switches the machine "on and OFF".

It is, if you put the machine first on and then off it will display no issues whatsoever.

Of course it should've been "off & back on".

Alright, so I've been out of the pinball game a minute now, but with my last kid going off to college soon enough, I'm about ready to be an owner once again. After just seeing what's possible with this one after adding the custom music/voice mods, I'm pretty sure this is the one I'm going to start off with when I'm ready to buy. (Though Wonka is also calling me!)
Most likely going to be a holiday purchase, and while I've owned several pins before, I've never bought one new (or a couple year old recent release preowned) Most likely looking to get the Premium version, and really just wanted to hear your advice on the must have add-ons and mods for the machine to keep it looking nice. Local arcade has a Pro version and it already has a big chunk missing on the play field by the drop-hole under the sign.
I can see various add-ons from several sites, but some overlap of the same type item and didn't know if there was a preferred brand/style or vendor I should be hitting up first. Was also curious if the complete clear playfield protectors like I see on eBay are recommended. No experience using them, and didn't know how it would affect gameplay.
Anyone use colored balls? Also don't know how they play (I'm assuming somewhat different) but after stumbling onto them from one of the sites I found my way to and seeing the bright colors available now, it made me think they could look cool on this adding one of each color to represent the different Infinity Stones.
Will start digging through this thread now for some info, just wanted to say hi and figured I'd ask the people that have had it awhile since you know what works and what's most needed. Probably going to start buying the extra pieces now so I have it all ready to go, so thanks for you help and looking forward to it!

You really shouldn't need a full playfield protector for home use, just wipe it clean often, replace balls as needed / regularly and wax it every 500 plays or so. There are multiple sources for clear plastic protectors but I will say the color-matched ones are really nice. The orb plastic protector is a must, I don't have any experience with it (I just have the one Stern provided) but the one being sold by a Pinsider in this thread looks like a good bet. If you buy a premium it should already have the factory scoop protector in place, if not buy a cliffy for it. I also like the clear plastic scoop sign as it adds a little more light and it's pretty inexpensive. If you buy new make sure to add a shooter lane protector or mylar and if the game has art blades or you add them I recommend the protectors that Pinball Life sells that you slide in before lifting the playfield. The Stern art blades look pretty nice in GOTG. I think you'll be able to find a nice home use Premium for a good price, the game had a bad reputation from the beginning because of code and it seems the price of used ones still reflects that.
I would not recommend colored balls because I don't think they last when actually played but I haven't tried any of the new ones being offered.
I'm having an issue with my guardians pro. During gameplay and during mode select the lights are going crazy and groots mouth keeps opening and closing. Has anybody had this problem?

I've never played on one with a full protector, was just thinking of trying to protect it best I can. Little terrified of the things I'd have to take apart just to install it though.
I also dug the colored plastic protectors and the custom scoop sign. Orb protector as shown a few posts above has been purchased!
Kinda scary how much more you can spend on extra mods and lighting after the fact just to make it prettier.
Thanks again for your help!
Played the local Pro one again today and ended up getting the Cherry Bomb multiball and finished the game with 6 story modes complete (plus Orb and Groot) Ended up around 500,000 which was my best run so far, and feels like I'm starting to hit shots more naturally now. Always loved pinball, but usually just played for fun and not so much about score, but mainly to just hit shots (like ramps!) and keep the ball alive. Learning rules and playing with a purpose to actually attempt to finish it is a whole new thing.
any advice on how to score big on save xander mode? i can't figure it out, been there 3 times and have only put up 275,000,000 tops on that mode.

Thank you for the reply. Was yours an early run game or more recent?
I am considering getting one that was made in late 2017. It looks good and has some nice upgrades but there is some very small pooling around a few of the posts.
No chipping at this point so wondering what opinions are on if the minor pooling should even be a concern given the game is almost 2 years old and no indications of chipping so far?...

I wouldn't worry about it 1 bit. I have a pro with ever so slight pooling. I bought it used before I even knew what pooling was. Mine hasn't worsened or chipped either. Hell, I never ever would have even noticed it, had I not inspected it like a madman after reading some threads. Don't let it stop you from playing.

Thank you. That confirms what I'm thinking and the owner said. It would be far more noticeable by now if it was going to be problematic down the road.
Late to the party, but I finally installed Cleland on my Guardians.
I like it, but I am not 100% sold on it (yet). It is a bit crowded music-wise,
to the point that the game-play feels messy.
Love the fact that there are more songs though.
First game after Cleland modification.
Edit.
Sound is crap on the video due to the cameras microphone.
Cheers

You can also try the Sinestro download, which is a lot of Cleland's work, but still has original mode music active and only plays the custom music when out of mode. Some like the way that flows better. Pretty sure that's the one to look for that does that, but there are a few variations out there I've seen.
Played again yesterday at the local arcade and they had just waxed it down. Man, all my learning progress was gone. Felt like I was playing a whole new game that didn't shoot the same anymore. lol, drove me insane trying to hit the ramps now. One thing that blew me away was that I saw more magnet action in one game after the clean than I had in 100's of games beforehand, so that was something I was really missing out on.

I’ve recently noticed that I’m not getting the blue “Mystery” light at all anymore. Is there a setting to increase the frequency of this? I can’t seem to find much info on this. Thanks!
A few weeks ago I found a small Flourecent plastic sitting on the PF so investigated and found this pictured below.
Bear in mind these protectors were not made by me but came already fitted to my GOTG LE when I bought it.
The orb protector had broke in 2 places due to how narrow the protector had been made but it could have been worse and been the original one which is just as narrow. The protector fitted was exact whereas I always make mine slightly larger by around 1-1.5 mm
BTW I did enquire and GOTG doesn’t do a common break set that I know of so you would have to get a full set if you wanted like new
So I went about redesigning this and a few of the important ones beefing them up a little just in case. Also while I was on I put a much needed window for the ORB that is so much better as it let’s you see the target and the light below is not diffused onto the orb when it splits or in the case of the pro lights up.
It took a few prototypes till I was more than happy with the outcome. I have since done a few sets for the community over in the U.K. Some have opted for clear while others have gone for colour coordinating rocket with Red and the right ramp in blue. Each to their own but for me it’s all about the eye popping candy of the fluorescent green.
This also spurred me on to replacing the slings and Outlanes as the flashback marks from the laser could be seen and I wanted to oversize those 1mm too.
Final pic is obligatory of my little pin wizard doing final testing.

Oh sweet. When looking at protectors, I always saw that the right plastic was listed as Pro only but never realized why and never saw one listed for Prem/LE before, but seeing your pics I now realize that's where one of the added spinners is so I'll def have to hit you up when I'm ready.

I sell a version of these only in clear for sometime- see my posts in this forum.
Lesson I learned long ago is protectors like these need to be made from Pet-g plastic. Acrylic will cause cracks. Also, mine include a little loop cutout to route wire.

You earn mystery by spelling "Guardians" by hitting the left side standup target. Every time you hit it it will show you on the screen what letter you just earned.
This is also how you increase the after ball bonus multiplier (1x per time you spell it out completely).

I offer clear for all my protectors using extruded 2mm Acrylic which is stronger but is not available in Fluorescent colours which is only 3mm in cast which everyone uses.
I have done too many to even count now mainly in Flourecent and not had one return ever! That’s why I give lifetime guarantee as long as they the original buyer and they pay for postage.
Have made it to Immolation several times and Save Xandar once. But did not know the objectives. Could someone explain in simple terms what to do including how add a balls work? Does Immolation go on forever until you get to one ball play? I know after Save Xandar the modes start over. Thanks.

http://tiltforums.com/t/guardians-of-the-galaxy-pinball-rulesheet-wip/3338 in case you haven't seen it. The add-a-balls are all at the scoop IIRC and the mode ends when you are no longer in multi-ball i.e. you're down to one ball in play.
Does anyone know the part number for the pro lockdown bar and does it come with the button and the surround?

Owner Introduction: I just purchased a Guardians of the Galaxy Pro New in box. It is still in the box. I found a great you tube video to show me how to set it up.
My question: What accessories and special care should I start thinking about before I assemble and start using the machine. My goals are two fold:
1. I don't want to cause excessive wear and tear due to anything I could avoid by doing something BEFORE I start using the machine.
2. I want find accessories, modifications, etc. that I can do to make the machine more interesting and nice looking. (examples: the baby groot shooter knob, and I think I have heard about some music modifications that might be available)
I am a novice pinball owner but have loved pinball for MANY years. Although budget matters somewhat, I certainly can afford to do whatever I want to take care of the machine properly.
