Recently bought a gotg. Two basic questions, how do the lanes work as I can’t seem to move all 5 of them around with the flipper buttons? Do you just try to complete them? Once I complete the top two I can’t rotate to the inlanes like in iron man. Is the quill mode a multiball mode if you choose him at the start of a game?

You can only move the top two lanes (right flipper) and the left two lanes (left flipper). The right lane you cannot move. Once you have completed the lanes, you will get a shot multiplyer lit on all the main shots. One you hit the shot multiplyer you will get 2 x for that shot until the end of the ball. You can also add rampage to the multiplyer tally as well. This changes while you are playing rocket, the lanes are part of rocket mode and you have to complete them all once (unless you use your hadron).

Quill is a 2 ball multiball the first time you start him in each game. If you do not complete quill and start him again via the scoop, this will be a one ball mode.

Complete 4 modes (not including orb or Groot) and start Chery Bomb muntiball. Make sure your flipper fingers are ready!

Wow, that’s pretty deep, thanks. I thought I had a trough issue as it spit two balls out.very cool game, kind of a cross between Metallica and iron man, but with very different rules.

I need to learn more about this game, is there a good rule set or tutorial somewhere?

GOTG has a second mode for each mode that makes things a bit confusing at the start, once you get used to it you will like it.

Same here, I have all three. I’ve never had the feeling that one played too much like the other. AS in particular is just a whole different animal.

The super modes can be really lucrative, especially with a multiplier. If you finish Yandu’s mode and then hit his shot with a multiplier, it’s 70-80M total. I really love hammering the orbits during MB when I've just finished Drax or Ronan. And the Gamora ramp seems to be worth a lot after Sibling Rivalry (green mode). Half the fun is trying out different scoring strategies.

Hmm. AS holds up to those games in terms of layout and gameplay for me. And the art is fantastic, still my favorite even with IMDN out now. It suffers a little from the Jacky callouts and basic rules, but hopefully the next release helps. I just like hearing classic rock when I’m playing and drinking beer.

Love my GOTG Pro and so does my 4 year old. He’s been playing pinball since he was 1 1/2. Have a Ghostbusters, theatre of magic, getaway & cyclone. Has anyone else had this screen issue? It sometimes “blurs” and then come back. If I wiggle the board in the back box, it will fluctuate. Stern will not help at all even though the game is only 6 months old. They just say buy a new board at $900! And you can’t even find one in stock. Any help? I’ve checked all the solder joints and plugs and all seem fine.

When this has happened to me (not on this title), carefully unplug the ribbon cable at each end and reseat it. If this doesn't do it, it may be a more serious problem.

Hey all! Just joined the club with an LE about 2 weeks ago and it has been a blast. Hitting that fist cherry bomb was the most fun I have had in awhile with a pin and cannot wait to get farther along. but recently my game won't let me select a mode at the start of play. it just kinda randomly picks which one im going to start with which complete kills having a strategy. any and all help would be appreciated.

Got immolation once. Scored 11 Billion!! The second time I completed immolation and actually saved Xandar. Again almost 12 Billion!! It’s crazy! Balls coming out and you actually save Xandar by shooting each characters shots. I’ll post pics of my score in a minute.

To Dinto1974. Go to setting and make sure you have it set to allow the player to choose. If gives you that option

Some amazing scores, I must be doing something wrong as I’m struggling to break a billion most games.

What order are you guys playing the modes in?

The only time I've even gotten close to a billion was when I killed it in Cherry Bomb multiball. Most of my games are 100-400 million.

Don’t worry Wolf I’m in the same club as you, half a billion is a great game for me few hundred million is my standard game, this is a game where you seem to really need to know the perks of playing modes in an order.

Those crazy scores come from not necessarily order of modes but from having successful multiballs in same ball with single shot multipliers at 3x 4x + etc and stacked with rampage double scoring.

11b and 12b is zany regardless of how game is setup, that’s like robotic accuracy and you should be competing professionally if you’re not already.

I was Orb Mb super jp away from qualifying Xandar yesterday and “only” ended up with 1.3B. My cherry bomb and immolation both sucked apparently after seeing the other scores here.

Will be very interested to see how you like IMDN after playing GOTG heavily. I’ve had all versions of both machines, I like GOTG a *lot more* than Maiden (esp GOTGLE). Sometimes I feel like the only one . #maidenHysteria

Naw, I'm with you. I like IMDN a lot, but GOTG just pushes all the right buttons for me. It's got simple enough objectives for my non-pinhead family, but deep and challenging enough that it's going to take me some good time to ever get to Immolation Initiative, and maybe never to Save Xandar.

I couldn't be happier with GOTG.

I scored a 1,5 bil game, then 3 games below 20 billion.. one 8 . This is because I stupidly decided to start those games with escape kyln for a laugh.. wasnt funny!
Then I just picked yonda, like usual, then knowhere, finished both and had groot ready, stacked that with kyln. Because I had plenty multipliers lit by then, I decided to cash in safely with quill multi. Didnt last long.. picked off antiquities with orb, which left me ready for cherry.
Made that with an 879 bil and just shy of 2 bil total.
Started playing quill solo, managed to complete it, and started groot together with nebula. I somehow find her ramp the hardest shot.. go figure.
Didnt complete it, and had two shitty house balls due to mag orb releases out the left.
Last ball, nebula, sibling and both mb’s to complete.. I thought this wont get me there, so decided to go for immolation, hadnt done that before.
Made it by the skin of my teeth, and somehow just kept hitting what I needed.
Came out with a sjp which I missed scorewise, but I was just under 3bil total.
Allright.. sibbling left to finish, and I did but as I celebrated I lost control, and it dropped out the middle grrr..
But....I was revived.., I had collected a score EB somewhere, not sure where, 8 mode completion maybe?
So, both mb’s to complete.. played both twice, so far along but both on 0 lock.
Groot first, just 5 shots, and done. Drained to 1 ball. Orb.., 9 shots.. and I made it once again, feeling like a pro now.
As I hit the super , I drained to 1 ball, the scoop lit purple , and I hit it clean.
Game paused, and looked like it was going for add-a-ball, and I thought.. noooo, ( first time for that) , but it changed its mind and started up the screen xandar intro.
I just kept hitting the right shots, reviving MB every time, and got a 1,3bil sjp at the end.

Anti-climax when you start over again with nothing lit, so I let it roll, mission achieved!

I’m selling my LE now, superb game, but I know the challenge is gone for me now. Time to fully seriously dive into new stuff. If Maiden is better, who knows..might unpack mine now. gotg is good and deep enough for most, I can only recommend it as a fun family game !

I'll have these for sale in my Pinside shop soon, as well as through Mezelmods. I'll also have similar toppers for TWD, BM66, ACDC, and AS. DP, too, when it comes out. Mezels have been asking for a low-cost topper option compared to Stern and Laseriffic.

Thought this would be the best place to ask on our next mod for GOTG Pro and Prem/LE.
A lit Infinity Stone will be included - should it be color changing or just purple like the movie?
The color changing led behind the pro had me thinking of the option.

Thank you! That's good to hear! These will be around $129, but the lighting kits are sold separately ($35 for rgb, I think).

Personally I’d go for purple I like the idea of keeping the orb film accurate and having a kick ass purple light show when active.

Have you made a custom orb? Or just hollowed out and painted up the factory orb?

You can get the movie accurate model online. The movie one is 4 inches which is too big so I sized it to 3.25".

True casting with accurate scaling in a material with a quality fitting of a 5 to 8k machine is the way to go.
I got that covered as announced back in Jan on my Youtube channel.
We have been stuck in cast mode for some time but in production mode now.
Will launch all the Gotg at one time.

That purple jewel looks great but would have to be mod'd to fit my mod.
Maybe crystal is the way to go.

Do you guys think the inner ring should be oiled silver like the display on the game or antique gold like the one shown above #2692

Personally silver if that’s what’s in the film I believe? I always enjoy your mods as they are usually very film/theme accurate.

Edit: so movie has a gold centre, if that’s movie accurate that’s the one I’d want.

Rob will you be making one for the Prem/LE?

With the way this is built it should bolt up using the LE bracket - simple swap.
Pro will be a bolt up quick and easy (bracket included). LE bracket should fit but I need to find a local or have someone send a donor to test. Realistic time frame is Expo.
